The breakfast was poor - only some sweet stuff and cereal. Apart from this, the hotel experience was very pleasant.

Excelente.

Centrale was wonderful--staffed by competent, friendly, and helpful people (all English speaking as well). The rooms were pristine and we were lucky enough to have our own terrace on the top floor. The location is perfect, on a quiet street but only meters away from the hustle and bustle of stores and historic sites.

This hotel, although small, is perfectly formed! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were cleaned to the highest standards every day. The location is fantastic with Pazza del Popolo only 1 minute walk away and the Spanish Steps less than 5. We would definitely return

The Hotel is in a great location that is only 5 minutes from the metro near Plaza del Popolo and has the 116, and 117 bus stop one block away. The Spanish steps are also just 10 minutes away. The hotel is on a very small side street off of a main street on each side. There was some street noise at night from the sirens on the other streets and from teenagers who would sit outside the clothing store next door but would leave before it got too late. Everyone spoke English and the front desk is right at the front door so you are always greeted when you come in. They were always willing to give directions and provided a map to help you get there. Rooms were very clean and the breakfast was decent especially if you like chocolate filled pastries and other pastries. They also had cereal and yogurt There is a little market next door that you can buy a large bottle of water for just 1 euro and also sells cheese and meat by the pound if you want to add some protein to breakfast. A good basic restaurant a block away at 515 Via Del Corso is Taverna Del Corso. The prices were reasonable and the food was good but nothing fancy. The gelato shop next to it was very good. Our double room was adequate in size with a 3 foot by 3 foot shower. We were told our room had an extension, but it was really just an area a desk could fit in. My father's room was a single room and was very small with a tiny shower. Via Del Corso closes after 5 to traffic so it is a great place to walk to shop and eat. Via Condoti is just off the Corso and is a 10 to 15 minute walk from the hotel and has Gucci and all the other designer brands to look at. Stores close at 7:00 on weekdays. This is a very nice hotel that is clean and just remodeled in November 2007. The price is very reasonable because it is new so book this hotel before they raise their prices.

very nice location. Breakfast could be better.

I was so happy to find this Hotel that I have been telling my friends about it. I have travelled to Rome on several ocassions but this time i was travelling with my niece for her first visit to Rome. The location of Hotel Centrale is ideal for those who want to be in the centre - we went round on foot. The Hotel is small and the rooms have just been refurbished. I was amazed that the guest toiletries are those for a 4/5 star including disposable slippers. The staff on the reception were very helpful and even the manageress had time to speak to us I have no hesitation to recommend this Hotel .

Hungary, Feb 2008
Smallish, recently renewed, clean hotel, reasonable sized room, big bathroom, friendly staff. Breakfast a bit "too continental" (cookies, sweets). The only problem we experienced was related to our arriving too early: the staff was a bit rigid with the check-in time, though the hotel was evidently not full. The surroundings are great, roughly halfway between Pzza di Spagna and Pzza del Popolo).

Hotel is located in a small street between Via Corso with all high-street clothes for general public and one between Spanish Stairs and Piazza de Poppolo (no, I don't mean Via Condotti) with items for millionaires. All major tourist attractions are within a walking distance (well, it would take about 40min. to reach Colloseum on the other side of historical centre) and for longer trips the underground station is just behind Piazza de Poppolo. We were upgraged from a superior room (don't know why) to one, I suppose, de luxe room at the top floor with a terrace and a view to Borghese gardens and it was marvellous. Of course, a "minimalistic" breakfast may be a morning shock for a traveller from Northern/Central Europe used to more substantial diet but this does not matter when one is surrounded by all cafeterias of Rome (though one may need to be aware of what can get for that price in Rome). We haven't checked the Internet connection in our room because, at first, we thought it was supposed to be wireless (it wasn't). Cannot comment the aircondition because we were in February. Overall, very nice hotel (and fresh new and clean what, believe me, is a very important feature for Italian 3-stars that should be appreciated).

Hotel Centrale is very well located. The hotel has been renewed in October 2007 so it s very clean and new. The rooms are relatively small but considering the fact that you are in the Heart of Rome it is acceptable. The price is competitive for what you get and the breakfast is nice. The Hotel location is perfect for both Shopping and Sightseeing. Also right in front of the Hotel ''Pizza al taglio'' fast food is fabulous. I also recommend BUCCONE close by for a nice glass of wine and dinner on fridays and saturdays
HOW TO REACH THE HOTEL
By car
You can take A1 route and follow the indication for the center of the city
By train
The stops are stazione Termini, Ostiense or St. Pietro
By airplane
To the airport you can take a taxi or train. With a taxi you can spend from 40€ to 50€ about and is very convenient if you have a big or many luggages. The train is very rapid, you can spend about 15€ (direct train to Termini Station) and 30 minutes.
By public transportation
The stop of underground is Flaminio. It is the most convenient because you can spend only 1€. The underground is very crowded with people from 8 am to 10 am and to 5 pm to 7 pm. It is possible to visit Rome with underground and bus if you have many days to spend, but we don't recommend it in the summer.

- Bike rental

- Shuttle service from and/or to the airport
