I love this hotel! I always try to stay here when I'm going to be in Rome on business or vacation. There's definitely a reason that it is often not on the available list when searching for hotels in Rome. The secret is out. This is the best hotel for the money in Rome! It's location is convenient, the staff is wonderful and the rooms are clean and cozy. Did I say "I love this place"? Well, I do!

By far the worst Hotel stayed at in the whole of Italy and this was certainly a very distant last. The breakfast was abysmal and it is taken at a bar across the road and even then you are expected to pay extra for any decent feed. Very poor quality despite the quite high tariff. Other Hotels stayed at in Rome were far superior yet cost LESS !!! Room given was not at the actual Hotel itself but at an annex. Overall very disappointed. Stay here at your own risk !! Despite assurances that NO charges would occur on Credit Card BEFORE arrival, attempts were made by this establishment to charge my credit card bfore my arrival. Very dishonest !!

Stayed there with my elderly mum. We were very pleased with this hotel and would definitly stay here again. We ordered transfer to the hotel from the airport, but no-one came to pick us up. After a short fonecall to the hotell, we were picked up after just a few minutes. Both the room and the bathroom were bigger than expected. With the windows open you can hear noises from sirenes and stuff, but not more than to be expected in a big city like Rome. With the windows shut, we didn't hear a thing. The breakfast across the street was rather poor; one bread, one croisant, butter, jam, honey and coffee or tea. But if you pay one euro more you can upgrade your breakfast to an omelette or other things. There are many restaurants near by. The one next door is ok, but in the side-streets you will find cheaper ones with just as good food. We found a very nice one (cheap, good food and good service)close to Termini station at the Via Marghera. I don't remember the name, but it's two blocks downhill from the hotell and than turn right - and you'll have it on your left handside just before you reach the station (it's the last one before the station). The location of the hotel is close to the Castro Pretorio Metro Station as well as the Termini Main Station with trains, trams, busses and the metro. I think some of the sights, as the Colosseum and the Spanish steps, also are within a walking distance for most grown-ups.

Everything was O.K. except for the noise from some old lady who lives there and is hard of hearing and suffers from insomia so had the TV on max keeping us awake at night. Complained the night it happened and took some time for it to be resolved. Second night was woken at 5:00am in the morning by her and also they are doing renovations which also woke us up. If you intend to drive there, do not take Super Garage option for parking as it cost 24 euro a day!! Instead trying to gain a parking spot on the street and pay 11 euros a day. Othre than that, there is a good couple of restaurants near by and excellent little pizzera across the road. We choose the hotel because of its vicinity to public transport which is defintley a big drawcard.

We would eagerly stay at Romae again! Metro station very close. Continental breakfast arrangements were the best we found on our trip with options. Met many great people in the hall/reception from all over! Only negative was the coffee in the common room was free but tasted like old mud and sometimes the music in reception was a little loud...more for the workers than the guests.

We stayed 5 days in rome but could stay only 3 nights at hotel Romea as it was full. The options for break-fast was very good though you pay a few euros extra. I recommend any one who likes to visit Rome to stay at Hotel Romea as it provides good facilities, friendly people and safe.

Everything was excellent at the hotel. The room provides enough space and facilities. Free Internet & TV (BBC, CNN, and more). Fruits welcome you in the room. The breakfast cafe was also friendly and comfy. I could not expect more than I got at this price. The location is not perfect in terms of safety and amenity but was not a problem to me. You have to walk for 4-5 blocks from the Termini Station.
United Kingdom, Apr 2008
The Hotel met and went beyond expectations. It was in a central location close (400metres) from the Termini Rail station and 300 metres from the underground station. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was small but clean with tv satellite. Lots of restaurants around the area and the breakfast was in the price and acceptable in quality. some friendly touches were the free internet access, fruit basket updated regularly and the free tea , coffee and fruit juice in the lounge area. The outside got a bit noisy at night, but shut the windows and that is quelled a little, I luckily had some earplugs too !! The air con didnt seem to be working too well but we went in April so maybe it wasnt needed too much then. I recommend the Romae for good value for money in Rome.

Romae was pleasant, welcoming and clean. My only complaint was that our room was rather small. There were four of us squashed into a double size room. I ended up sleeping on a bunk bed. However, the price wasn't bad, the location was great and we got a really good complimentary breakfast. This hotel would be good for young travellers.

Good 3 star hotel in an accessible location. Friendly staff who speak good English. Free internet was a bonus. Rooms are small but good value for the price. Would recommend for relatively budget conscious travellers. Free breakfast was also handy!

We found the hotel as expected . We stayed in the annex and had disturbance from tv noise in the room next door - unthinking clients. A phone call to reception on the second night and the matter was rectified immediately. During our stay we were victims of a pickpocket and when we returned to the hotel the staff were most helpful in contacting credit card companies etc. We were most impressed by their courtesy and their competence. We will stay there again.
France, Apr 2008
We were 3 grown ups and we stayed for 4 nights. The staff was nice, very welcoming. The room was very clean, near new, with a balcony on a courtyard. The bed were comfortable, a big tv screen, large cuboards, fresh fruits, a mini bar, a safe. The bathroom was perfect, very clean as well, good shower, hair dryer. The public areas were great: coffee and tea, croissant for early leaving, internet + internet in bed rooms, nice outdoor sofas. The location is good: a five minute walk from Termini which is the main train and bus station of Roma, 20 minutes from the Coliseum, 15 minutes by metro from the Vatican...ideal for tourists, with many cheap restaurants around. The area is clean and well frequented. The breakfast was included and taken at the bar in front of the hotel. The breakfast was ok although not wonderful. I recommend this hotel!

We stayed for one night in a double and triple room. Rooms were as advertized and perfectly adequate. The staff was very helpful with setting up van transport for an early trip to the airport, getting breakfast set out early, with late-night entry and with supplying information on nearby services.

Italy - First time. We arrive at train station nervous and uncertain. After a short walk to hotel, we found the staff very pleasant and willing to answer our questions and assist in any way possible. Location is close to Supermarket (buying stuff for the refrigerator), restaurants and subway line and an Embassy (nice urban neighborhood). Free Internet. Breakfast was a nice way to start the day with very pleasant servers. Location was great to gain access to all the things we wanted to see by subway.

Good location less than 5 minutes walk from the main train station, although we were put in the annexe right across the street from the main hotel the room was excellent & very quiet. All the staff on reception were particularly helpful, not just when checking in but in all other matters such as info about public transport, times etc. Their English was also very good. The hotel being fairly central is just the place for a short stay in Rome.

United Kingdom, Feb 2008
Less than 5 minutes walk from the railway station, the hotel is in a quiet street which does not have the seedy feel often found near railway stations. Our room was across the street from the main hotel, but,in practice, there were no problems. The young reception staff were very helpful. Many small, moderately priced restaurants nearby. A good value hotel

We stayed for 4 nights at the hotel. The location is near the termini station and if you are a good walker you can reach nearly everything by foot. The bus station and the metro station is just around the corner. There is also a little supermarket nearby. We liked the friendly atmosphere, the stuff was always helpful and provided a specil map for valentines day and offered a glass of kir royal which was really delicious. Also the fruit basket at the room, the free drinks in the lobby and the free internet is nice. Our room was quite little (nr. 12), but it was clean and ok for a city trip.

Perfect choice for the young couples. Clean rooms, excellent service, free coffee, tea, and fruit juices on the lobby all day. Rooms were equipped with lcd television and satellite system. 24 hour hot water. There was also wireless internet connection. Our room was spacious and nicely decorated with a small balcony and always clean. May be the most important thing is Hotel's location. Hotel was 10 minute walk from Termini station. Also there is a Metro stop in less than a 5 minute walking distance. The staff in the reception were service oriented and very friendly. They were answering all questions, providing city map and even an umbrella incase of rain. Beakfast was served at the Mama Angelo restaurant next door. I will definitely advice this hotel to my friends.

The hotel was as expected, although we should have paid more attention to the reviews that warned about the quiteness of rooms. Service was good, hotel employees were nice and helpful, rooms were clean (except for some stuff in the drawers left from who knows whem). All was missing was some quiet to let us get some rest. Overall, we enjoyed the stay but in the future it's not likely we will stay there again.

nice hotel! Great breakfast, nice fruit basket, great to have internet access. Friendly and helpful staff. Water wasn't hot first night (bummer as long plane ride) yet they fixed it promptly next day. Good location close to Termini. Would recommend this hotel! Only thing I didn't like is thin bathroom, when leaned over my butt hit the wall (I'm not big!).

2 blocks from Termini train station but far away enough to feel safe in the evening. Staff are all very helpful. Rooms are clean. On arrival you receive voucher for buffet breakfast next door, which is standard Italian fare, plenty of it. Room was not huge but comfortable. Bathroom was spacious and modern. The room door was not soundproofed so you can hear everyone walking through the corridor but no sound from the other rooms. Sky TV in the rooms, free tea/coffee & juice in the common room.

The only thing that really kind of stank was we arrived at around 11 AM after traveling for about 20 hours in total to get there. It was cold and raining and the common area was not heated or furnished very well. Our room would not be ready until 1 we realized and were not let in until almost exactly 1PM. We could have really used just a little break as we were freezing and no where to go due to the weather nor no suggestions made. We slept curled up in a small iron chair in the corner of the small common area. Other than that, once in the room all was just fine and I would stay there again. You couldn't beat the rate hardly either!

A very pleasant casual hotel, not luxurious but with young and very friendly receptionists. I really appreciated things like free internet and tea/coffee, and reasonable prices for bottled water (1 Euro for a half-liter bottle downstairs at the reception). My one dissatisfaction was breakfast in the restaurant next-door: I could not stand having my breakfast with the noisy music. Except for this, I might have stayed longer.

United Kingdom, Nov 2007
The price is fair in comparison to what you can find in Rome. But if you compare to other countries, Spain for example, it's very expensive for what you get. The room was fine but the bathroom was the tiniest I've ever seen. I read some reviews on venere.com from clients telling that they had a great room and bathroom, brand new. Obviously we didn't have that chance ! The service is really good though and, even if the staff is very young, all the people we saw were helpfull and friendly, speaking english very well. The breakfast at the little trattoria downstairs is average but I think you could expect more from a 3* hotel.

We stayed for 2 nights at Hotel Viennese and one at Hotel Romae. Our requirements were a room close to the main railway station, a family room for 5 people, and good value. The slightly more expensive Hotel Romae was well worth it. The restaurant next door provided a very good evening meal and was where breakfast was provided. This bore no comparison to breakfast (a drink and a pastry) at a corner shop from H Viennese. Recommended without reservation.

Hotel da non preferire. Molto caro rispetto al poco che offre. Camere piccole, poco pulite e con affacci brutti. Bagni piccolissimi e sguarniti di biancheria. Hotel misero con prezzi molto sopra la media.

Great hotel for the price in Rome. The place where the breakfast is served also serves a good dinner at a reasonable price which I have found rare in Rome.
