The hotel was exactly as communicated on the venere site. Clean and friendly. Photos show reality. Location excellent, close to all means of traffic, easy to reach all important places within the city centre. Staff was welcoming and helpful. They were even very flexible with early arrival / late leaving. The buffet breakfast was better than we could expect in Italy. We would WARMLY RECOMMEND Pavia to anyone who searches a decent middle category hotel to stay for 3-5 nights.

We had a single and a triple room. Both rooms were clean, but very cold (we had to sleep in pullovers!), moreover the single room (and especially its bathroom) was very small and noisy because of a nearby toilet. On the other hand we enjoyed the conveniant location (on the backside of the terme Diocletiane and very near to stazione Termini) and the tasty breakfast.

I paid 120Euros per night, and the big selling point was that it had free internet wireless access at no additional charge, and it is less than 3 minutes walk from Termini. Yes, granted there are better hotels for more money, but based on the location and what it offered, the place fit the bill. Yes, there was mold in the bathroom, and the walls were thin, so that if your neigbhors were noisy, it would be hard to go to sleep. Again for what I paid, it was great. Granted, if I had done more homework, I might have found a better place. The hotel people were friendly and helpful, like all service people should be. Again, understand that this is not the Ritz Carlton.

Location was good, very near Termini Metro/Train station, but in a quiet street. Other hotels are nearby and a couple of restaurants/bars.
Price Value not Good - for 145 we could have gotten a much better hotel.
Overall, we didn't find the room or the facilities very clean, the carpet seemed old and dirty, and the walls were covered with upholstery not very clean either. But at least the bed (sheets) and bathroom were ok.
Breakfast is included. Not so good but ok. Very limited quantities, they don't replenish.

Hotel Pavia was quite OK to the price for the room. The staff is friendly and helpful. I red earlier comments before the visit and do not agree with the negative ones. Though, I would recommend the hotel to get rid of the filthy wall-to-wall carpet in the room. The room faced to the right the D... thermes and you could see the backyard to the streethouse in front, with much green, children noising and dogbarking in the early evening. but that is ordinary life. The nights and mornings were very quiet.

The only point of this hotel is the location, near to the station. We had chosen it because it said wifi free but actually we couldn't even download e-mails because the connection was extremely slow ! During the night they even disconnected wifi.
There was one small shower room with toilet and shower (so small that you could do both at the same time) and after shower the floor got completely wet. Anyway the water was cold , too cold to take shower. At night it was noisy.

Location was good relative to Termini and Metropolitain, however large group of street Vendors in adjacent area (direction of Termini)fouled this area. We found it better to approach hotel from opposite direction.

This was an awful hotel. There was an extra 10 Euro charge for a/c, and the room was dated, old, and dingy. The owner's dog barked and cried for several hours (starting at 12:30 am), and I was told by Frederico at the front desk that there was nothing that he could do. It's amazing that the owner, Sergio Villarini lives at the other end of Rome, but keeps his dog in the kitchen of the hotel to keep his hotel guests awake. I would NEVER return here.

The Pavia is in a good location - quiet street, 5 mins from Termini. We had a quadruple room (2 adults, 2 children)which was very cramped and the decor dated. It was okay as we were only there 2 days, but not suitable for any longer. The staff were helpful though. There is no lift, if you have a lot of luggage. Fine for a couple who want to spend time out and about, but a family - no.

Very good and central location. Just a few minutes from Termini, and the bus from Ciampino (the airport) stoped just across the street.
Very quiet location in a backyard.
Walking distance from the central part of Rome.
A small room for breakfast, but the breakfast was ok!

The Pavia is a decent location since it is close to Termini, which is convienent if you are planning on using the buses or Metro to get around the city. However, the hotel is not close walking distance to any of Rome's major attractions. The room was really small and the bathroom was even smaller. The shower was literally a small square glass capsule and had very very poor water pressure.
There is also not a lift (elevator), so if you have heavy suitcases, be prepared to drag them up the stairs.
The best part of the hotel was that there was free internet service available in the lobby.
one more comment is that the pictures online do not represent the actual hotel or it's surroundings itself. the pictures make it seem like their is a courtyard area??
I would not stay here if I was to revisit Rome.

This is a very nice hotel. We really enjoyed staying there. They even have internet access for free. Breakfast is very good, but the room where it is served is too small, so you must wait a long time for a table to sit. They do not accept visa travelers cheques in euro. Can you believe that? But I would definitely stay there again!!!

Hotel was being spruced up consequently workmen around and smell of paint was a slight problem. But booked well in advance for two double rooms for single use for myself and friend. Was asked to move to a single - refused - following day was told friend would be moved to a different albeit close hotel as he was only there for one night! Refused and room was found for him! How very italian! Breakfast good and generally standard of rooms etc good. Good to have a safe and a mini bar in the room. area a little rougher than expected but not bad. On my first night asked reception about local restaurants and was directed to good local tratt and they also provided map. generally very likeable place and people.

We had an overall pleasant stay apart from packing our case on the morning, going for breakfast in the hotel, going back to the room to collect our case and heading straight to the airport. After arriving home and unpacking we found our camcorder missing, our camera and numerous other items, we cannot prove that it was staff from the hotel or its happened at the airport, either way very upset and highly disappointed.

The hotel sucks. We booked 3 nights. Stayed only first night cause it was compulsory, then moved into another hotel which was: much better, better located, same price. There are a lot of hotels in the area —and closer to city center— which cost exactly the same money and are better.
I don't think I'll book hotels through this web anymore, since it seemed to me it was a waste of money for such a poor service.

Very pleased with our stay. Though the room and bathroom were both very small. Beds were comfortable, room was clean, lots of hot water, clean sheets and towels, very quiet, great location, good breakfast, free internet, english speaking and helpful staff. I would stay there again.

PLEASE DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL,
THREE FEMALES ARRIVING LATE AT NIGHT IN AN AREA WE DID NOT KNOW. WE STILL WOULDN'T STAY IN THIS HOTEL.
THE LOCATION WAS GOOD BUT THAT WAS THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THIS HOTEL.
STAFF WERE EXPECTING US THE ROOM WAS READY, WE WERE NOT READY FOR THE ROOM.
I THOUGHT I HAD JUST WALKED INTO A 70'S FILM SET. WE COULD HAVE LAY IN THE DOUBLE BED AND TOUCHED THE W.C.
THE CARPET WAS THREAD BARE THE ROOM WAS DARK AND DINGY AND THE ANTS PARADING ALL OVER THE FRIDGE WAS THE FINAL STRAW. CONSIDERING WE VISITED IN JANUARY THIS WAS NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED.
WE DID EXPLAIN TO THE RECEPTION THE REASON WHY WE WERE NOT STAYING, THE FACT THAT IT WOULD STRUGGLE TO MEET A 2 STAR NEVER MIND 3 STAR.
OF COURSE HE WASN'T VERY HAPPY AND INSISTED WE PAY FOR THE ROOM.
IN THE END WE PUT THE KEYS ON THE DESK AND LEFT, THE ISSUE OF PAYMENT IS STILL OUTSTANDING.
THEY HAVE MY CREDIT CARD DETAILS BUT NO SIGNATURE AND THE CARD COMPANY HAVE BEEN INFORMED.

This hotel was awful. When we arrived it looked ok, we went out for the day and came back to our room to find Ants crawling all over the room, our thing and the bed. The staff were not helpful and the breakfast was very poor. I do not think anyone should stay in this hotel on a trip to Rome.

We stayed in a quadruple room and
we were very pleased for our accomodation.
First of all the staff of the hotel was reallly friendly and helpful througout the stay.
Arriving in Rome, we found the hotel without any problem,
and we found the conditions really good, suplemented by tasty food and confortable location.
The hotel itself is lovely, with additional charm of the green passway and views on the Terme.

Terrible treatment after they had overbooked the hotel, blamed it on the computer, did not bother to contact me before and did not offer any compensation. Manager never showed up, nor contacted us by phone to talk about situation and let his staff deal with it.

The hotel was in a perfect location. It was a 5 minute walk from the train station and was easy to find. It was only a 5 minute metro ride from the train station to most of the city attractions. The room was clean and spacious enough for 2 people. The front desk people were friendly and they provided us with a map of the city and other sites to visit. Overall, I would recommend Hotel Pavia to anyone. The price is perfect for this hotel.

We couldn't get a room with a bit of view. The window in the first room was opening to a plant. We couldn't really open it. The second room was smaller but at least we could get a bit of light. If your neighbours are noisy, you could hear it in your room. The shower in the room was very small. Actually it was just a shower and a curtain in the toilet but then again, you get what you pay for. The price was cheap and it was really close to the main train station and the pick up point for Ryan Air bus to airport. Very handy as we had to get the shuttle bus at 4.30 AM.

Definitely not your typical idea of a 3-star hotel. More like a two star. For a one night stay just to have a place to sleep, good. But for people who want to stay more than a night in Rome, go somewhere else. Staff was friendly.

When I checked in, I was told I needed to pay an extra 13 euros for air conditioning. This was not mentioned on the Venere website. When I agreed to pay the extra amount, since it was really hot and humid, they told me they didn't have any more rooms with a/c.

Our rooms were adequate. However, we had 3 rooms & it would have been nice if the 3 rooms were on the same floor. Our breakfasts were quite good & coffee was excellent. A nice plus was having internet service provided for the guests. The hotel being so close to the train station made traveling quite easy. We were able to walk everywhere, except to the Vatican, because it was further away.
