Walking distance from the Train Station. Felt safe. Excellent breakfast, that was included. Would stay again, was very nice. Roof top cafe was neat too.

Our stay was OK, not as positive as the reviews I had read, which helped me to make our decision. Our experience with the staff was lukewarm at best. The man who was in charge of breakfast we nicknamed the "breakfast nazi" He made us feel very uncomfortable. He stared at us, hoovered around our table, and actually for some strange reason, followed us from breakfast into the lobby, and OUT ON THE STREET for maybe 1 block. Front staff was lukewarm. After a couple questions we had, we didn't feel like asking again, like we were an annoyance. One bellhop, who worked Monday night, March 24th, was very friendly. Hotel was close to subway and Termini station. Room was clean and spacious. We just didn't feel "welcomed" at all.

The roof deck had a great view and a very nice bar where you could also get food. The prices were reasonable for Rome.

The negatives: Our room was very small and drab. There was virtually no place to unpack our bags. It backed on an alley that was extremely noisy...it sounded like a building was being demolished next door beginning early in the a.m. When we arrived the desk staff was grumpy and aloof. The wait staff at breakfast was indifferent. The positives: The common areas are very nice, especially the roof garden. The staff at the roof garden were friendly and helpful. The bellmen were good. The location is excellent, near the Termini.

I chose this hotel because of proximity walking distance to Termini and it is less than 5 mins walk. To find hotel, at front of Termini facing buses, stay on street on left side, walk up past corner of Via Cavour, turn left behind the pink coloured Museum building and into via G. Amendola - hotel is opposite. I turned into Via Cavour and missed via G. Amendola as no signpost on Via Cavour! Very nice furnishings in lobby, lounge, good breakfast, good size bedroom & bathroom for Italy and wonderful rooftop bar with great views. Would stay there again - esp good for access to/from train station.

The hotel was nice. We would stay there again because we had no bad experiences in regards to the hotel. Location was next to bus depot and centrally located as far as getting around Rome but the area was somewhat depressed and quite noisy due to traffic. Restaurants in the area were plentiful and the food was great. Overall, the hotel was pleasant with a great breakfast, clean and the staff was friendly but not quite as friendly as the hotels in Tuscany. We do recommend this hotel.

We stayed in a queen bed..spacious room..never heard a train even with its close proximity to the station..very convenient for buses/trains. I would stay here again without question!

The accomodation was good but furnitures in room and bathroom are old. My televsion set (incredibly old and small) did not work and personnel was not able to repair or replace it. Breakfast was poor and not of good quality. Also in that space the forniture were old and not appropriate to the price.

The hardest thing to do was find the hotel. Directions from Termini were a disaster. The handiest way is to walk out the front of the station across the piazza where all the buses are. Stay left, go past the shops and you walk round a bend past a museum. Just go around the corner and the hotel is the big building across the street with all the flags outside( even looks like a hotel). The staff were very friendly and quick. Asked if there was anything we needed. We're frequent visitors to Italy but not to Rome except for day trip by train. We will be there again and will stay in this hotel again. Sadly I can't tell you about breakfast as we returned to the druids cave bar and had a fill that night so stayed in bed a bit longer than normal. Either way lovely hotel, friendly staff. Decent sized room and bathroom. What more do you want for the price. I'd have given a higher rating but I've stayed in nicer hotels in Florence a few times for same price or less at peak times but it was Rome and therefore a bit more expensive. All in all a decent spot to base yourself in. Two minutes from the station, metro and all the tour busses. So handy for any tourist who doesn't know Rome

Excellent Hotel , near to the station and metro.Good facilities, especially the roof terraza. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was crowded at times. Our room which was spacious and clean did overlook the noisy main street. We did enjoy our stay though and would return.

An excellent hotel stay (better than expected)! The room was larger than we expected with nice decor, elegant bathroom, very comfortable bed, and useful in-room safe. The roof-terrace bar is GREAT. The breakfast was GREAT. Check-in took 3 minutes and Clerks were friendly and welcoming and spoke English although we attempted our poor Italian. Perfect for travelers who would rather utilize the metro than waste money on overpriced cab fare. We took a train from FCO airport to Termini and easy walk with rolling luggage to hotel. 3 block walk to Republica metro station for red metro line which takes you to most tourist locations. Otherwise, cab fare is 8 - 11 euros from hotel to Pantheon depending on the day of week, so you make up in cab fare what you save in room rate. Our first trip to Italy, Rome was our first stop, we loved our 3 nights at the Bettoja Hotel Nord Nuova Roma.

Hotel was conveniently placed for getting from Terminii station and also for walking to, or getting transport to, all the sites. Breakfast was adequate but the coffee left something to be desired, and they did not have any non-sweet croissants!! The breakfast room struggled to cope with the number of guests on the days that the hotel was well/fully booked. Our room (265) was at the back and was quite noisy at 6 a.m. with lorry deliveries. Also, when we had noisy people (a group talking loudly) in the room next to us, we were kept awake until the early hours (paper-thin walls?). The room was a non-smoking room, but when people smoked in the room next to us, smoke came into our room through the air-con vent. We had no hot water (only luke-warm) for 2 days, but when I informed the hotel, it did get sorted. In my opinion the room was overpriced for what the hotel offers. My review may sound down-beat, but overall the stay was adequate. If I return to Rome, I will probably try another hotel in a different area (for a change).

The hotel location is very convenient - easy walking distance to Termini Station although the hotel signage makes it a little difficult to spot from the end of the block. My room was very large although the furnishings were fairly dated, including a very tired looking sofa bed that, luckily, I did not need to use. The bathroom was very spacious too. The rooftop terrace/bar was quite nice and the breakfast buffet was one of the nicest I encountered duruing a two week stay in Italy. I was prepared for street noise to be a problem as my room was on the front of the hotel and only on the second floor but noise was not an issue at all. I do consider the hotel to be overpriced (170 Euros for single use of a double room) but in my view that is the case with most of the hotels in the Termini Station area; you pay for the convenience of that central location.

Location is a very short walk from Termini Station. Room was small but very clean. Via Nationale just around the corner. Because of the smallness of the room I thought it was overpriced at $150 euro. Two minor points: Restaurant recommended by the hotel was a disappointment. I had a very early plane to catch so I couldn't take the train to the airport, which is very convenient. The hotel advertises "its car service" to the airport for a fixed price. I reserved a ride but my "car" that showed up was a cab and the driver tried to charge me more than the agreed price stated by the hotel.

The room was larger than I had expected. The room was clean, with a nice bathroom. The hotel is very close to the main train station in Rome, making it very convenient to locate. The breakfast was very good, service was excellent. The rooftop terrace was very spacious.

Air conditioning could have been stronger but seems to be comparable to most European hotels. Other than that, everything was just as we expected and we enjoyed our stay of 3 nights. Very convenient to local transportation via train or bus. Hotel staff was very helpful.

We did not stay at this hotel, there was some problem when we arrived with some of the rooms. We were put in another hotel with a room upgrade. It was great. The Nord Nuova did carry our luggage down 3 blocks to the othe Bettoja hotel they moved us to and we were charged the same price as was contracted through Venere.com. The Bettoja hotels in Italy actually offer great service and make the guest feel welcome, it felt like a 4 star hotel in America. The best we had our 2 week stay in Italy

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Nicely decorated rooms, very clean, great bathroom, good breakfast. The gentlemen at the front desk were not extremely friendly, but were competent and helpful. Internet access in the lobby was convenient and not too expensive. My sister was pickpocketed on the Metro by a man in a suit, so please be careful; we thought we were.

The roof bar was OUTSTANDING. The facilities were vbery good. Parking was quite expensive, but a necessity. The location is excellent -- ideally situated for easy access to all forms of transit (within a block and a half!) The hotel breakfast was excellent. The location map on the website was very useful.

The air conditioner did not work in our room. We had to sleep in the room for one night with no air. They gave us a fan. It was too noisy to open a window. I insisted that this situation would not be acceptable for the next night and they moved us to a better room. It took too long for this to happen however.

the rooms were vastly overpriced for what we got 220 Euro's a night. no extractor fan in the toilet/bathroom leaving smells to linger very embarrassing, air conditioning on what was the hotest June for many a year was practically none existant had to complain twice but it was never improved. breakfast provided was basic continental, no hot food, rooftop terrace was very nice after a long day walking around Rome, comparing other prices I would have valued 75 Euro's a night more appropriate. on a good note it was very useful being located just a couple of yards from the main bus/train terminal called TERMINI this was our second time in Rome with two of our older grandchildren and we had a great time. don,t let my comments put you off visiting Rome, but some of the smaller family hotels offer just as good a service, so you need to get your prices right before you leave your destination. I sincerely hope my comments are viewed as constructive criticism that can be improved for other visitors, and not sour grapes because we had a great time, I just feel as I said at the begining, We did not get value for money at this hotel

I first stayed at this hotel in 1967; I enjoyed my stay both then and now. The desk staff are friendly and helpful; the rooms are clean, comfortable, reasonably large for the price, and have good plumbing, heating, etc. The breakfast is adequate with quite good coffee. The area is extremely convenient for getting around, being very close to the railroad station from which many city buses depart and where the two metro lines also cross. In addition, a number of tourist sites are within easy walking distance. As is the opera house.

Roof top plaza appears to open only during certain seasons. This wasn’t a big problem but just thought I'd mention it. The hotel was brilliant and the staff were very polite and helpful. (Oh yes, and they all spoke English).

ALthough you hear that staying in a hotel near the train station is not the nicest area I could not fault where this hotel was. AT most it was a brisk 20 minute walk from all the sights. A fantastic local restaurant just on the corner beside the hotel was a real find. Simple and italian. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and sorted out any questions or queries we had. Rooms are spotless. Beds are very comfortable. High ceilings make up for the fairly small florr space, but you're just using the room to crash so you dont need much. Couldnt fault the buffet breakfast or the fabulous coffee. Really sets you up for the day. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel if you are on a budget and dont mind walking to sights.

Great hotel, friendly staff, but if you have the desire to sleep past 6 am, and they assign you a first floor room overlooking the alley, ask for something else. Every morning there were huge carts rolling into the hotel thru the brick paved alley. While the room was soundproof to the rest of the hotel, the window didn't do anything to stop this noise.

This was the perfect place to stay for our last night in Italy, within easy walking distance to Termini even with our luggage. Our double and single rooms with baths were more than adequate and spotless. The rooftop, outdoor lounge was the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine while we took a last look at Rome and some family photos, and then we were able to share a nice breakfast before catching an early train to the airport. Staff were very pleasant. I would recommend this hotel highly, and add that its location near Termini would give easy access to any sightseeing or day trip destinations.

Excellent location, just a two-minute walk from the Metro's & busses at Termini. Good room with a comfortable bed - tea & coffee making facilities were all that it lacked. Enjoyed the rooftop terrace, although could have done without the disco music. Good choice of restaurants nearby, so not too far to go when your feet ache from all of the walking. If (when?) we go back to Rome, we would not hesitate to use this hotel, or to recommend it to others.

Front desk personnel were rude and very easily bothered by your questions. Breakfast was usual, wait staff accomodating. Rooftop terrace is the hotels best asset. Don't miss it! Nice staff, good drinks and coffee. The rooms are very small, bathrooms are okay, both clean. Location is too close to get a cab from the train station and too far to walk with luggage. Spanish steps area would be future pick.

My family members and I really liked the hotel. The staff was GREAT! they were very helpful when we needed a map, call a taxi, wake up calls answering any question we had. We enjoyed the roof top bar, the staff was really pleasant and in no hurry in rushing us. And... this hotel is just around the corner from the Train station, you can definately walk to the hotel, pulling your bags. We took a taxi and he probably went back to his taxi friends and told him he just dropped off 3 blond Americans just around the corner. My family members and I just laughed when we got out of the taxi. You will not be disappointed in the hotel, for convience to train, location in Rome( we walked to all of the historic places from the hotel)or the graciousness of the staff. One last thing...there are some shady characters around the train station, but what train station doesn't have its share of shady characters.
