We stayed at BWArtDeco for 4 days in early Oct./07. Hotel is very conveniently located to all major attractions via metro with a station within 5 minutes walk. Neighbourhood streets are quiet pretty much throughout the day with many reasonably priced resturants within walking distance. The buffet breakfast at the hotel was modest but adequate. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was more spacious than we expected given the location in the city center. Bathroom was quite large and spotlessly clean as was the room with the exception of the carpet which was desperately in need of cleaning attention. Overall we were quite pleased with this hotel for a short stay. We would be inclined to look elsewhere in the event of a longer stay simply because, when you return to the hotel at the end a day of touring, there are no options for relaxation outside of your room which is, of necessity, furnished only with a bed, a desk and a desk chair.

While one probably has nothing to complain about given the quality - price ratio of hotel rooms in Rome (and much of Continental Europe) I must say that my single room at Art Deco was rather small (perhaps that is what you get for Euro 120, B and B). I have indeed been to bigger rooms - in this I include school and college rooms I lived in - rather than 5 star hotels. On the whole, the hotel is not bad (and double & triple rooms are adequately sized from what I could see from my sneak peaks at cleaning time). It is clean, the breakfast is OK and the staff are, on the whole, decent.
Also, the street the hotel is in is very quiet and safe as embassies and police abound.
The location is a bit of a trek from the 'epicentre' of Rome (15-20 minutes) but the proliferation of busses/ taxis should make up for this for those who don’t wish to walk too much. For those who wish to see the famous Bernini and Boromini churches, the location is perfect – the majority of the most famous churches being ‘down the road’ from the hotel.
People going there in April and even possibly May, may find it that the air conditioning is not on, especially in April. This month is still considered as cold by the Romans (not a hotel lie for I’ve seen many Italians dressed as one would dress in January in London) and so there is heating but no air conditioning.
Overall impression is that in Rome, really, there isn’t much choice – either this, the very cheap places of , possibly, dubious nature or Euro 250/300 + (semi) luxury hotels in the ‘downtown’ area.
