I think the Tiberio has seen better days but it is still good value for the money -- if you want to be in that neighbourhood (We did, because of a nearby conference). Breakfast was massive but not top quality. The shuttle service to/from town centre has very limited hours, only running in the morning from 9-11. That should be improved.

We got a good deal on this hotel through Venere (121 euros per room per night including breakfast) given that it was over Easter. Indications in the room itself showed the regular rate was more than double this. So for what we paid it was a good price but I would not choose it again simply because of the location. We only had two days in Rome and it would have been better to be more central. There was a free shuttle service to the Vatican and city centre, 3 times a morning going but only one coming back around 6 in the evening. The minibus only seated about 8 people so in high season places are not guaranteed. There is a railway stop behind the hotel where you need to change after one stop to get onto the metro line, and a number 990 bus, so public transport is possible. However, in the evening after a full day walking around the city, we were too tired to contemplate going back in this way. Restaurants in the area are practically non-existent (and the ones that were there were closed) so we ended up eating in the hotel restaurant both evenings. Meals were adequate but nothing spectacular. Reasonable prices though. Breakfast was full of sweet cakes and biscuits, not really my thing, and the scrambled egg looked like it had seen better days...Also our room was very hot, although we switched off the heating, we could not seem to cool it down. Leaving the window open at night meant we were disturbed by outside noises. Paper thin walls too. This all sounds very negative so will try and list the good things now!! Staff were very pleasant and receptionist helpful. The rooms were very clean and I think we were just unlucky with the heat thing as our daughters' adjoining room was not the same. We had a nice short break in Rome despite all the above. PS if you take your children to the Colosseum, make sure you take their passports. I couldn't prove age or origin and they made them pay the full price when it should be free for under-16s!

We were given a double room with rain leaking in from the windows and with no heat. We were switched over onother room with no leaks but no heat. The power was switching off on its own every so often. The two rooms didn't follow the regular progressive numbering and were not signaled in the hall. This hotel is far from sites and, although easily accessible through public transportation, you must take the Metro A and then switch over to a train. Trains and metro were always punctual. There is a bus stop, but cannot figure out the schedule. Their complementary shuttle service doesn't run on Sundays. Just too far to come back and forth: once you are out in town, you only come back at night (before 10pm, otherwise you can only take the bus). Nothing to do around the hotel, since it is a residential area. Breakfast selection was ok, fruit was a little stale and service was poor. Reception polite, helpful but not friendly.

I treated my son, an Inter fan, to his 14th birthday present, a weekend in Rome, primarily to see Lazio v Inter; I'd persuaded him that Rome had a lot more to offer than Milan. He was not disappointed and the Hotel was excellent. In a quiet neighbourhhod with good public transport, bus , rail & metro close by, its ideal for the Vatican and the Stadio Olimpico. Al lthe reception staff spoke excellent English and a special mention to Angela who sourced a local bar for some food before the game on Saturday evening, lent us her umbrella (the wetest day in Rome in living memory) ordered the taxi for the Stadium and sourced an excellent local restaurant for the Sunday night. I'd use the Hotel again for business or vacation purposes.

I was especially delighted with my room. It was large, bright, clean and had a balcony which overlooked the gardens. My only reservation about the hotel was that the breakfast was meagre especially for a 4 star hotel. I would however have no hesitation in recommending the hotel and will certainly stay there again.
