This is the first time we stayed in Hotel Canada.
Breakfast was excellent.
This hotel is ideal for those who wish to use the metro system and the buses.
Not the most scenic/lively area of Rome.
For those who wish to walk only, this may not be the best location.
A nice touch was the bottle of Champagne for our 25th Anniversary.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Canada and it surpasssed our expectations. The staff were really helpful-nothing was too much trouble. We arrived late at night (stuck in Terminal 5) and they were really kind and made us really welcome and comfortable.
The room was gorgeous,a massive bed)and a lot of space and had everything we could wish for with a little balcony overlooking a courtyard.
The breakfast was wonderful with hot and cold buffet, eggs, bacon, cereals, pastries, hams and cheese etc. More than enough to set you up for the day. We were in a quieter street near the station but we managed to find our way from the airport to the Station Termini by train and then about a 7 minute walk to the Hotel. We arrived at 10.30 at night due to late departure from Heathrow but we still felt safe and the directions provided were totally adequate.
We walked everywhere as we are a mature couple but children and teenagers would not have appreciated the walking!!
We did get a bus to the Vatican but walked everywhere else.
Overall a fantastic holiday and Hotel and I would definitely recommend the Hotel Canada.

We spent 1 night at the Hotel Canada and were very pleased. Our room was very clean and so spacious for european hotel rooms! The decor was beautiful and historic. I wouldn't call the staff "friendly" but they were informative and helpful.

We were a family of 2 adults and 2 children.
The hotel was not as close to Termini as expected - it was a good 7-10 mins walk - too far for the kids to lug suitacases. However, the room itself was fairly spacious. We had a family room which had a large double bed and two single beds. There was still enough room for two single couches and a table which was nice. The TV was a flatscreen model and you could ask for a tea and coffee pack for your room which meant you could make yourself a hot drink without having to go out and pay for one - this was very unusual to find in Italy. The bathroom was very clean and spacious with a combined bath and shower. The hotel provided all the usual toiletries including slippers which was a nice touch. There was a large double glaze window in the room however the outside shutter made the room very dark. Breakfast was included and was one of the best we had in Italy. The breakfast room was very nicely decorated and had beautiful china. The breakfast spread included bacon and eggs as well as all the other usual foods (this was unusual to find in Italy). Tea and coffee was served by the "breakfast" ladies. Overall, this was a really nice hotel - with an interesting old fashioned lift which only fitted 4 persons - nicely decorated with helpful staff - but not in a great part of town. There was not much near by. The taxi to the airport cost us 48 Euros.

Reception staff could have been more welcoming on arrival.
Hotel located near to bus route into city centre.
Room spacious but at end of corridor - rather isolated as beyond fire door.
Small antiquated lift - easier to walk down stairs.

Surprisingly good hotel for the price (126 euro /night, dbl occupancy). Conveniently located a block away from Castro Pretorio metro station. Our room was larger than expected, with an anteroom and large bathroom, lots of closet and dresser space. Everything was very clean. Good, full breakfast included. The only complaint was that the large bed (king size, if I recall correctly), was rather hard for our North American tastes, but this is common in Europe.

The Hotel was great for people like us who were mature adults on a short visit to the city (although we would stay for a longer visit)We were comfortable and we did all that we wanted to.We did not expect Rome to be so big and full of so many fantastic sites so our plan is to pay a longer visit next year and we will be more prepared for what we see and do.

Superb hotel. Great location, just around the corner from the Castro Pretorio Metro stop. Gorgeous, comfortable room. Friendly, helpful staff who speak excellent English.
The only drawbacks were that the hallway outside the room can be noisy in the mornings (in particular) - the room door isn't all that sound-proof - and the neighborhood is fairly touristy, so the dining choices are fairly mediocre.
All in all, a wonderful experience and I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

Hotel Canada was a fantastic hotel, the staff are very friendly and the location is excellent. The main train station is only a 5 min walk away and all the sights are within walking distance. The hotel is very clean and has a lovely atmosphere. There are also many very reasonable restaurants 2 minutes from the hotel. The breakfast buffet provided by the hotel is great with lots of options. Both myself and my mum had a wonderful time in Rome and we will definitely be back to stay in Hotel Canada. 10 out of 10.

The location of the hotel is very convenient to Termini located within a seven minute walk from the hotel. The superior room we were assigned was comfortable and a reasonable size with attractive vintage furnishings. The bed was firm as were all beds we experienced in Italy during our stay. The breakfast was wonderful and abundant with a wide selection of food and baked goods. The staff was very helpful and professional. The location of the hotel made touring very easy as access to the "green touring bus" etc. was close and train to the airport is convenient. There is a wide selection of restraunts to choose from in the area.

The Canada is a great place to stay. the ambience of the hotel is superb, the facility of a bar and nibbles with courteous and accomodating staff is excellent and we felt very comfortable in the hotel environment. Breakfast is excellent preparing travellers for the day ahead. It is conveniently positioned for travel, eating and for accessing facilities.

I loved nice and abundant breakfast. A triple room we stayed was a little bit dimly, but decorated harmoniously with antique atmosphere. The hotel is located within esay of Subway station and found a couple of homely feel italian restaurants around there.

Hotel Canada did not disappoint. The hotel's location was excellent and we could walk to Termini in 5 minutes. We would also walk to the nearby Metro in about 3 minutes and we used this excellent mode of transport frequently.
When we arrived at the hotel, we were upgraded to a large room which was very clean and well air conditioned. The bed, while firm, was comfortable.
The buffet breakfast was the best we had in Italy in terms of quality and selection. The range of nibblies provided with drinks in the bar were extraordinary. There was a very good restaurant just down the road from the hotel, with excellent food. We could sometimes hear Italian love songs being sung from the restaurant.
The staff were always courteous and helpful, and provided us with advice and maps.
We would definitely choose this hotel again, in terms of location, service, quality of accommodation and value for money.

I booked this hotel on the information found on this web-site and I was not disappointed. This was my first trip to Rome and the location of the hotel was excellent and the staff very helpful. The restaurants around the location of the hotel were very good and not expensive and also cater for veggies. Our hotel room was a twin room and both the room and bathroom were very clean and the maid came in every day to clean and replace the bed linen and leave fresh towels. A great stay and would have no reservations on recommending this hotel to anyone.

The rooms are clean and spacious.
The price is very reasonable and they offer one
of the best breakfast(included in the price of
the room!)my wife and I ever had in a 3 star
hotel in Europe. Very, very good value for money. When in Rome we will stay there again.

We arrived at this hotel after 11 pm at night and the staff were helpful in unloading our car and then telling us where we could park. The hotelhad an arrangement with an underground car park which we thought was rather expensive, about 80 euros, from mon night until thurs morn. But not really knowing how expensive Rome is or isnt we just accepted this as part of our stay.Breakfast was very good and the staff cheerful and helpful

Hotel Canada was as I expected as I had read reviews on other sites. The Hotel was really good. The room comfortable, clean with a lovely bathroom. The quiet bar area was lovely after a day walking - the bar prices very cheap and excellent service - even to the point of serving little snacks with drinks. Our first night we arrived quite late and tired so we just had a drink and toasted sandwich - we were amazed at how cheap it was. The hotel was within easy access of the Termini - the hub of transport to all the main attractions via the easy to navigate metro. We bought a three day pass with unlimited travel for something like £7 each. Back to the hotel - we would definitely stay again - oh and the breakfasts - well if you want to eat loads in the morning the choice was really great - fruit, cereals, meats cheeses, bacon, eggs cakes - too too much!!The rooms were quiet with good air conditioning.

The hotel is very nice and near to the termini station you can walk to the hotel easy. The only negativ think is, that the first night we had a room to the street, it was very noisy. But the very friendly staff gave us a room to the backsite of the hotel an it was much more quiet.
Also the breakfestis ecellent and really the staff in this hotel is friendly.

Very clean. Excellent breakfast and much nicer than other hotels I've stayed at in Rome. Great location to Termini station and metro. Cute elevator (but slow due to its charm and age). If you are used to memory foam mattresses (like Tempurpedic), you will think you are sleeping on a rock. Mattresses were MUCH harder than any we experienced in Italy.

I wouldn't normally want a comment published on a website but the whole experience of staying at the Canada Hotel in Rome was so enjoyable they deserve to be publically patted on the back.
The hotel was spotless, all the staff were pleasant and helpful, the breakfast was outstanding, the bedroom was comfortable and attractively furnished as were the public rooms. It was also extremely handy for getting the Metro (a station literally around the corner) to all the major attractions.
I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone or of going back there again.

The Hotel Canada was a fantastic hotel internally. The external appearance of the building can be deceiving but the internal finish is top class.
Only down point was the price I was quoted online was not the ammount I ended up paying as the Hotel Canada had increased its prices between my booking date and my actual date of staying there.
All in all a fantastic hotel that I would most definitely reccomend.

Spent 4 nights in the Hotel Canada, room was clean and spacious; bathroom had a shower and bath - useful for soaking aching feet and legs after walking all over Rome.
The only criticism was noise from inconsiderate guests in the corridors well after midnight – not the fault of the hotel.
Breakfasts were brilliant, staff were friendly and efficient.
Hotel is a short walk from the main train station (Termini),airport bus stop and just around the corner from the Metro B line station. Area around the hotel has many other hotels and small eating places. Surrounding area is slightly shabby – as is much of Rome.
We would definitely stay in this hotel again if we return to Rome.

Friendly, welcoming staff, not only attentive to every request but providing service with a smile. Have agreed to cancel one night on a short notice as I was invited to stay with a friend. Beautiful, spacious rooms. Located on the "better" side of the railway station and within walking distance from it, and also next to the metro. An hotel to return to!

We stayed at Hotel Canada three different times on this trip. There were absolutely no glitches and on the second and third stays, the gentleman at reception greeted us by name. Each of our three rooms had a great deal of character and the third person in our group was offered privacy with a bed area almost separate from the rest of the accomodations. The breakfast was exceptional--the dining area and the food itself was something to look forward to each morning.

This hotel is really an oasis in a busy city. While a long walk from the major Rome sites, it is a nice walk and if you don't want to walk, transit is right at the door. The breakfast is substantial and is a great start to a day in Rome

The hotel is realy nearby the Termini station and only a few steps to Metro Line B. The room was very nice. We had a room located to the street, but if the window was closed, there was absolutly nothing to hear. The lift is very little, but we never had to wait for it longer than a minute. The only thing we have to mention is, that the breakfast room is too small for the hotel. Here some guests (group of 3 or more) had to wait for a free table. But breakfast was good and enough for all.

We booked seven hotels on this trip through venere.com and this is the only one that did not equal or exceed our expectations. i. It is on the perimeter of a very run down and harsh neighborhood. We felt in peril on the walk from the train station to the hotel. ii. It took a full hour to set up their arcane internet system on my computer. They made us call a number in Italy for technical help instead of assisting us, when it was obvious that everyone who stayed there had had the same problem. iii. A Japanese couple ahead of me in line was told fantasies about the night clubs in Rome (i.e., that it costs 1000 Euros for a beer) and when they asked for a clarification, the fantasy just grew larger (the front desk clerk told of people being arrested who refused to pay the 1000 Euros). I thought this was totally inappropriate (cruel), even if a joke. He never did give a serious answer to their questions and they were his guests! iv. The beds were rock hard. v. The elevator was inadequate for the size of the hotel; so plan to climb the stairs to and from your room. The place was clean, but the only way I would stay here again would be if there was only a very limited selection of other places available on a given night, such as during a convention.

This hotel provided adequate accommodation for a most enjoyable one holiday week in Rome. I would have no hesitation in returning to the same hotel, which was clean with a pleasant and helpful staff. My main disappointment was the noise level in the evening until around midnight but this is a problem that the hotel could not do anything about and I suspect that it is common to most centre city hotels. The breakfast was very good and the service at breakfast was also very good. The catering staff were pleasant and helpful. One problem was that the lift did not always work. The hotel is conveniently located near to the bus station and the main-line station for the airport train. The metro was just round the corner. There is also a very good and very reasonably priced restaurant about 75 metres down the street in the direction of the station.
