hotel outside
The hotel Saturnia is excellently located in the heart of Rome, in the Monti area, the most ancient district with small typical streets, monuments or vestiges of the Roman, Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque times.
Many important sights, such as the magnificent basilicas of Santa Maria Maggiore, Santa Prassede and Santa Pudenziana or the S. Pietro in Vincoli church with the Mosè, Michelangelo's masterpiece, are within walking distance.
The property, housed in an ancient building, is therefore the ideal place to breathe the magic atmosphere of this timeless city.

Hotel was ideally located!!! Walked to most places and right beside everything. A great selection of restaurants in the surrounding area. Never needed a taxi once. Staff were very friendly and were more than happy to help if you ever needed something. Breakfast was nice as well. Perfect for having a bit of something before your site seeing. Would defo go back again. LOCATION PERFECT!!!

The Saturnia is a very nice hotel and the location near the train station is really easy and convenient, plus AC!!! I gave the overall stay such a low mark because after two nights (a 4 night reservation) they asked us to move hotels due to some sort of construction/water problem. It was supposed to be a hotel upgrade and a better city center location, as well as a free taxi to the airport. It wasn't a major inconvenience to us, and Saturnia was very nice about the problems but the hotel they moved us to was not very nice, the staff was rude, the AC didn't work and they tried to feign ignorance about the airport taxi. (we also saw them rip off another couple when giving the cost of the taxi to the airport) So DO NOT stay at the Fellini B&B- but Saturnia was lovely

Very good situation, near the Termini, Colloseum, major bus lines. Famous St. Maria Maggiore chirch is only 200 meters from here!!! Rooms: Aware isolated apartment next door to hotel (which is one of the hotel's room) - it's realy near the street (3 meters between bed and cars!!!) and VERY Noisy! Another room on the 3-rd floor was lovely and quiet! The staff vas very polite. Especially Virgilio, who gave us many good advises about the Rome. (Virgilio, hi from Russia! Thank you!) Breakfast is OK. Very good cappuchino!!!

Staff wonderful, however the hotel could spend a little money on repairs such as being able to attach the shower head to the wall and not having to hold it in your hand!

The third bed was a child's camp bed, and all three beds squashed into a very small room. No floor space at all! Tiny shower, broken shower door, broken bathroom door. Lots of street noise. The budget hotel we moved into the next night, at half the price, was at least twice as good.

The rooms were ok! Unfortunately at 8,30 a.m.(breakfast time) ham and cheese were finished...the electric grill was broken and the juices (grape and orange) seemed fresh coloured water (with sugar of course!). The girl of the bar (stranger) was rude and the "italian cappuccino" was coffee and milk foam (without milk)..... One morning, we had to wait for 15 minutes to have breakfast because there weren't free tables (only 3 round tables and a little square one). The guy was nice and polite (but like every Roman he's always right!), rooms were quite and air conditioned worked! But 90 euros/night is quite a theft (althought Rome is expensive)!!! I conformed myself with no problems but my girlfriend was a bit disppointed....

Too close to the train station; shabby, surly desk help, 4th floor room and no lift; in short a fire trap. You can stay in much nicer hotel for the 200 Euros per night paid for a double. Oh-the ac worked great. The night clerk was civil.

The staff is very friendly and speaks good English. The room was very very small, and it barely fits the luggage. The bathroom is very tine, specially the shower. The cleanness was very well done. It is quite near Termine Station, about 5 minutes walking. The breakfast was not very vast, just plain, but reasonable stuff (cappuccino, coffee, chocolate, juice, cereal, bread, toast, butter, jam, cheese and that’s it). I would not stay again in this hotel because it is very expensive for what they offer you (size of the rooms, hotel surroundings, breakfast, etc.)

The accommodation was very basic but clean and in a perfect location. The continental breakfast was good and the night manager had everything ready for us although we were checking out at 6.30 am. Francesco, the day concierge was very helpful and made some phone calls for us to change taxi timings and check on flights. He is very knowledgeable about Rome and gave us good advice on routes etc. We were woken at 3.30 am by some ladies who had obviously had a good night but apart from that, the noise was no worse than you would expect in the middle of a city. Another mirror in the bedroom would have been helpful. The bathroom was tiny but adequate.

Good located hotel with just 7-8 min walk from the Termini station. Not so hard to find and a very kind staff. Not so fancy or big rooms but it was okey, I only stayed at the hotel for the sleep and the beds were good!

Nice hotel, 5-10 min walk from termini station easy to find using the map. Centrally located and has good access to rest of Rome.

The room was just what we paid for, a one-star rating. The difference was the staff. If not for their accomodating nature, and their efforts to make everything perfect, I would have packed up and found another hotel, regardless of a refund.

Extremely welcoming but budget hotel. It was just as we thought it would be. It is within walking distance of Terminus and central Rome. Lots of pleasant, reasonable restaurants nearby. We would recommend it as a cheap and friendly base, but don't expect luxury.

This hotel was very close to the train station while far enough away to far from noise and "shady" areas. It was within 7 minutes to the train station and 8-9 minutes to the Coloseum. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is sufficient although nothing to write home about. We went to Rome, Florence, Venice, Salzburg, Brussels, and Paris on our trip and this was one of the better hotels even though the rooms were smallish.
Norway, Nov 2006
The room had no window and to get to the room on 4th floor. We had to climb the last strange labyrint steps fromt 3rd to 4th floor which was inconvenient especially with luggage.

Hotel needs refreshing: stairs were not clean, breakfast room had very old/battered chairs, lobby area behind desk needs repainting. Room was very small and too expensive for a 2-star hotel. No elevator. No instructions in the room for either how to contact the Hotel desk by phone or how to work the small safe. Rooms are not soundproofed. I stayed there only because I couldn't find a 3-star hotel.

Location convenient on foot to the station, metro, colleseum and other attractions. On quiet side street. The welcome cup of coffee was greatly appreciated; as was having our bags carried up the stairs. The breakfast was very adequate. Full-time front desk staff was able to help with advice and directions.

This hotel is a typical little European hotel with small but quaint rooms and wonderful service. The complimentary breakfast was very good, and even has a waiter serving cappucino and other beverages. Riccardo was extremely helpful to us and Marco in the cafe was absolutely priceless. This hotel is a nice little stroll to the Colosseum/Forum/Palatine Hill area, and a bit longer walk to Trevi fountain and the Pantheon but that's the best way to see Rome! It is also a very short walk to Termini station where you can catch the metro to Vatican City. The pizzeria on the corner was great also! I would definitely stay here again!

Very, very central - about ten minutes by foot (with heavy bags) from the Termini railway station. Ancient ruins, museums and all sightseeing destinations in central Rome close by (on foot: Coluseum 10 Minutes, Fontana di Trevi 15 min., St. Peters 30-40 mins, Piazza Navona 30 Min.). Nothing fancy, but very clean and comfortable and the hotel staff will make you a killer coffee for breakfast!

We were asked to pay in advance, something never done in any hotel in the world. (we dress properly and clean, we are not coming from wilderness) In the room we found one smoked cigarrette on the floor. There is no wifi service and no conection to Internet. Room is recently renewed, but bad care after that.

The employees were very friendly and helpful. We only ate breakfast once at the hotel, and it was okay. It was the perfect location to be able to catch a bus/train/subway...just had to walk up to Termini. We stayed in two different rooms. The first room was on the first floor, but the room was SUPER TINY...but comfortable. We also stayed on the fourth floor, which was a nice climb up the stairs, since there was no lift/elevator, but the room was much BIGGER...the bed was less comfortable, though. I enjoyed my stay and would DEFINITELY go back!

My family and I, two adults, two adolocent children, stayed at the Saturnia for three nights. We wished not to stay at an American hotel, and experience the full Italian experience. Although the room was small, it sufficed our needs. Although there was no elevator, it was not critical. Although the bedsa re not constructed like the cushioned American beds, we all slept well. The room was comfortable (it was Spring). At night, the out side activity made for some minor disturbances, but it was not overwhelming. The site is near a nun's convent, so the bells rang for prayer very early in the morning which added to the charm of the brief stay. The location is quite convenient, close, but not too close to Termini. Breakfast was delightful with various platters of meat, boiled egg, cheese, breads, and pastries. The people behind the counter or the hostess were courteous and pleasant, and available when needed. I strongly recommend this place as a great value for a brief stay.

Myself and 2 friends very much enjoyed our stay at Saturnia. It was located close to the Termini train station, which made hauling our luggage easier by foot, and was within walking distance to many attractions!

My daughter and I really enjoy this little Hotel, the best part of it is the staff, they will go out of the way to help you. The airline left our luggage and Tiziano at the desk would call the airline frequently and finally got them to deliver my suitcase at the Hotel. The rooms are small but I've seen smaller and we didn't mind, they are spotless and the beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is good too. Saturnia is perfectly located close to the Tremini Train Station which is the gate to public transportation. I noticed some of the rooms are newly renovated and I think that's what I got, I even had a hair dryer which I didn't expect, considering the two star rating of this hotel. I strongly recommend it, you get your money's worth.

The ONLY thing that we can coplain about, is that we had to walk four stories to get to our room, no big problem if you're healthy, but ask which floor you're going to live on. Otherwise, excellent.

We spent four nights at this hotel. The hotel was an older building that needs some modern renovation. One of our lights didn't work and we could have used a chair in our room. The bathroom was worn but clean and functional with plenty of hot water. The room was quiet and adequate for a family of four. The beds were clean and comfortable. The staff was wonderful and helpful. They suggested two fantastic restaurants, gave us accurate directions to sites and were always cheerful. The breakfast was good. The location is within walking distance of most sites and appeared to be in a safe neighborhood. I thought the price was a little high for the quality of our room especially during off season. The only thing I did not like was that they wanted our payment right up front at checkin because of our booking through this booking firm. We were not aware of this and it surprised us. The only hotel of eight that we stayed in during our vacation that wanted money up front.

Gigi es el mejor recepcionista! una masa. Muy gentiles todos y el desayuno es muy bueno. Las habitaciones son pequeñas pero estan bien. La zona es excelente y esta cerca de Termini, estacion de metro y tren. Mariana de Argentina

This is THE best hotel I've ever stayed in for the money. Its right in the heart of Rome, and the rooms are actually really nice. Cool decor, modern furniture, etc. The staff was REALLY good too and really went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and accomodated. Two guys in particular, Gigi and Ricardo, were especially friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel if you want to stay in a cool, authentic hotel and don't want to spend a ton of money. There were only two drawbacks.... 1. They advertise that they have internet access but they don't. You have to go to an internet cafe next door and its not that cheap. 2. There's no lift...so, if you're on the 4th floor it sucks. Other than that, this place was a big winner.
