HOTEL REVIEWS
Canada, Jun 2008
We stayed here for 3 days in June. The property is located near the Termini train station, which means it's very central but in a sometimes dodgy area. We arrived early and the very helpful lady at the front desk stored our bags before check in and provided us with local tourist information. The staff were excellent, the room was clean and roomy. A great value over all.

We chose Andreina for it's proximity to the train station. We were travelling throughout Italy by train and booked two separate stays with this very convenient hotel. The staff was very accomodating and helpful/friendly to us. We stayed in two different rooms, both of which were clean and charming. Rooms in Rome are expectedly small in this price range but then, are you really going to do anything but sleep in them? The surroundings are not as bad as I have heard described in other reviews, although I would be uncomfortable just about anywhere in Rome as a single female at night. Keep in mind after all, it is near Rome's largest train station. There is abundant shopping and dining here and convenient to hop a bus or cab for a short ride to attractions which you can enjoy on foot from there. The streets outside are very busy and somewhat noisy, but not intolerable (just bring some earplugs if you're a light sleeper). Overall, the hotel was perfect for our needs and we would happily return if we get the chance to come back to this amazing nation.

Hotel andreina was a wonderful little hotel perfectly situated away from the city centre but within easy access to metro, tram, bus and taxi transportation. very friendly staff beautiful layout inside. Bit sad but i only booked the hotel because i liked the bedstands... they really made it for me but otherwise the bathroom is perfect too along with a good sized room if you'll be like us mainly in the city discovering every nook and cranny! Great price compared to everything else i looked at definately recommended and left us with fantastic memories! Many thanks for a pleasant stay! P.s would like to pass on some advice to those new to Rome, if you use the metro to get into the city at night please bare in mind it closes at 10pm so dont walk back like we thought we had to if you're a bit strapped for cash...the bus is only 1 euro each, so spare your health and ride the good ol' public transport!

Three nights, two persons. Perfect location, exaclty 50 mt. (1 min. by foot) from Termini Station, Bus and Metro. Nice, clean and not so small room, with good windows against the noise from the street. Really nice employees, very kind and caring. Unique little problem, the small internal elevator to reach the rooms. Also useful the "Trattoria da Luciano", side by side to the main door of the hotel, very cheap but good.

This Hotel is hard to comment on as we only stayed 1 night. The location is very good close to train's buses etc but a very dodgy area. I definatly would not recommend walking around the streets at night eat at restaurants before dark and get back to your room. A lot of beggers and pick pockets roam this area. street noise is very hard to block out, ok for 1 night stay but if you are staying in Rome for longer pay the extra money and stay in a better hotel. However the room was very clean but very small and the elevator was interesting.

I would recommend this hotel to others depending on their needs or expectations. It is not a 5 star but it is clean and friendly.

We asked for a quiet room and got it, Rm. 33. Escellent access to the train station and transfer to the airport. Let's face it, prices are sky high for those whose earnings are in US dollars, but this seemed like a relative bargain. It was easy to walk to the Forum, Palatine Hill and colisseum.

Great Location, just a few meters from railway station, however the neighborhood It's a bit scary if you arrive at night with all the suitcaises. Room wasn´t very luxurious (little bit old) but bathroom was perfect, clean towels every day. With TV (no cable) and safety box. If you are lucky and have a laptop you may find some internet conection. Very friendly staff, no breakfast icluded. Great place to stay if you are visiting the city for a few days, near restaurants and transport system.

I'm travelling with my friend and Rome is our first destination of this trip. The hotel is really nice and super clean!! Surrounding is ok but slightly dirty (well I'd guess everywhere in Rome is dirty), very close to bus, subway and train. There was no breakfast provided, well basically no kitchen but not a big deal really because around the area there are lots of restaurants and shops. Great Stay!!

You won't find a better inexpensive hotel option that is as conveniently located and charming as this. Excellent value! The staff here is warm and welcoming and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Even the breakfast was custom-made to our liking and more generous that we were expecting. The location was close to everything, even the train station. Highly recommended.

Good for a short stay, because of it's proximity to the Termini Station. Wouldn't stay here longer than one night. Here are some reasons (which are certainly subjective). 1.Strange odour in the room (obviously air-freshener to eliminate traces of cigarete smoke) which was quite uncomfortable. 2. Interior design of the hotel is quite uninspiring. Doors painted with tourkize and white cane furniture in the reception area were out of place. At least to my taste. 3. Noise from the outside (particulary after midnight) can distract some light sleepers.

I can't recommend this hotel enough. Great price, great location and great staff. If I was going to Rome again I would stay here.
Switzerland, Mar 2008
Very nice hotel in its class, tastefully decorated, room and bathroom in excellent condition. The staff was very welcoming and ready to answer any questions. We were a little concerned about the area (termini) but it was ok in the end, the hotel is literally a 2 min walk from the train, metro and bus station, so very quick access to all of Rome. Excellent choice if you are on a budget.

We stayed in Rome for 5 nights (the longest in our trip in Italy). The staff in this family hotel are welcoming and helping. My BF and I had nice stay there. The room, though a bit small, is decent and clean. We were quite surprised to find Wifi access in the room. The street outside was a bit noisy but it can be made up with the convenient location.

Hotel Andreina is a lost island in a desparate neighborhood near Termini Train Station. The lady at the desk was very helpful and the rear room was unusally clean and quiet. Because of the location, and we were only sleeping to catch an early train, the Andreina was the perfect choice. I would recommend it to travelers that wish to have a clean room with a warm smile for a more than fair price.

Situation, cleanliness and service was excellent. Having breakfast at a snack bar was disappointing, I did expect to eat in the hotel, particularly as the room was not cheap. However this did not detract from the overall pleasure of having a few days in Rome.

Hotel Andreina is in a convenient location for trains, buses and the Metro as well as being close to the major sights of Rome. The area is quite noisy bit the hotel's double glazing is very effective in keeping the noise out. The hotel is on two floors of a multi-occupancy building. Entry is via reception on the 4th floor. Rooms on the third floor are accessed by a second, very small lift. Not for those who dislike lifts or suffer from claustrophobia. Breakfast is taken at an adjacent bar. Not really worth paying extra for in our opinion. Rooms are simple and spotlessly clean with clean towels provided every day. One thing spoiled our stay at the Andreina. On our first night after a very long day we were looking forward to an early night. The key broke in the lock and the hotel staff tried for 3 hours to gain access to our room before arranging a room at a rather grotty hotel next door. A locksmith was called the following day and we were expected to pay the €200 bill. Although we did not believe we were at fault and unsure of the legal position we agreed to pay half of this. We felt the hotel was trying to recoup the loss of revenue for the first night and felt we were being ripped off. For this reason would not use this Hotel again. All in all the experience spoiled what was otherwise a great time in Rome.

Clean and comfortable accommodation. Staff very friendly and helpful. Easy walking distance to major attractions. Near Metro for longer journeys(metro cheap and easy). Some noise from street but it didn't prevent sleep.

It was a very charming hotel. The owner was very very friendly and helpful. Her recommendations were spot on. It was very convenient, just a 2 minute walk from Termini. The neighbourhood looked a little dodgy but if you take the normal precautions you should be fine. Be sure to ask for a room at the back of the hotel. Rooms facing the street are very noisy.

Hotel Andreina is an excellent budget hotel with a prime location (close to Termini). The room was much bigger then some of the other rooms in Italy and was very clean and tidy. Most it had air conditioning which is a must in the summer. The receptionists were very helpful and spoke very good english. The complementary breakfast was quite decent with croissants, jam and coffee. It is pretty close to several of the major sites. All in all I was very impressed by this hotel for making my stay in Rome a comfortable one.

My husband and I stayed for 6 days in Rome. The pension was clean, modern and quiet. The atmosphere was good. Close to Termini was perfect for us. The only thing that could be a little better was the breakfast. BBC channel is also a good idea ! I will recommend andreina to friends !

A hotel with some character less than 5 minutes walk from Termini. I had requested a quiet room and that is what we got. The staff were helpful and it had a family feel to it. We managed to walk to a lot of the main sites from the hotel and the bus to the airport left from outside Termini.

We select Hotel Andreina for our Long-Weekend-Trip to Rom under the aspects, it must be a small hotel, near by the centre with the historic sites, at the same not so far from train-/bus-station and of course the category of price in middle segment. After our visit we can say the area around Termini is a little bit difficult but we had newer a bad or an unsure feeling. Finaly our comment to Hotel Andreina, it is a prime address, with nice and clean rooms and a very friendly reception around the clock. So we can recommend this accommodation with good conscience.

Hotel Andreina doesn't meet our expectation. It's not easy to find the location as it's at a building with a small entrance. It's not a hotel, actually it's a pension. They charged us Euro95 for one night and it's much higher than the hotels around there. We don't like to have our breakfast in a bar nearby. More worse, to reach our room, we need to take a lift which needed to push and hold the button to get that floor. Though the room inside is really clean and the staff is nice and welcoming, we are very likely not to go there again.

Very nice hotel, with *** services someway hidden behind the single star classification. However, the price is quite between ** and *** rates, while the hotel lacks of easy access and common public spaces. The internal elevator is quite slow. However, the rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Little bit expensive but I think thats Rome. However had friends staying in much bigger hotels with bar, foyer etc. for the same price.
USA, Sep 2006
I very much enjoyed the price. The hotel is extremely convenient for connections by train, bus and metro. Even though it is right next to the Termini station, the hotel was quiet and clean. The service provided by the employees was excellent. The room itself was nice, modest, clean and the whole hotel was very nicely remodeled and decorated. For Rome, this was a very good deal and will definitely stay there the next time I am in Rome.

Very clean and tidy, nice bathroom, friendly clerks, small but nice rooms with good beds. Sometimes a bit noisy (cause by the street outside).

We stayed in a double bed room with private bath. But the room is so small that you can hardly move around if you are of big size. The breakfast offered is terrible and of cheap quality. I think they are over priced but may be that is Rome. The hotel because of its closeness to railway station is convenient, but also very cheap and you feel very uncomfortable at night with all those idle people loitering around the street.

The hotel is situated very close to the Termini station, which is a very busy and noisy area. The rooms however are in excellent condition, spacious, clean, very nice bathroom much above the indicated standard. The entrance is quite surprising, as the hotel is on the third floor a of multistorey building and to get to your rooms you have to use some gangways inside the building. But for a cheap budget accomodation I would recommend it. Staff is also freindly and helpful.

Andreina provided us with a perfect end to our stay in Italy. We had been traveling for nearly 3 weeks, and finally got a room with real air conditioning!! The hotel itself was absolutely pristine and perfect. Our bed was always maticulously turned down and the staff was delightful. The area is however sketchy, but we never encountered any difficulty. We highly recommend the Andreina!!

The location of the Andreina makes it a wonderful choice if you are coming in by train. The staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is on the fourth floor, but has an elevator (actually large enough to hold two people comfortably) that takes you up. The room we stayed in was very nice. Had arches throughout and a wardrobe that matched the arch shapes. The bathroom was very new and clean and the shower was wonderful (which felt good after a hot day of walking all over Roma)

We had a very nice stay at the hotel, we were aware in advance that it was not a quiet area but a set of ear plugs looked after that. The room was tidy and clean and had everything to make it an easy stay. The staff were incredibly helpful with buses and information and even extra pillows. The were also very friendly. The breadfast was not very interesting, a stale bun with jam and a croissant came in a celophane wrap. Yuck! Stop for a cappuccino and danish some where else.It was a good value, a great location, you can walk to all of the sights, the train and bus are a block away. I would stay again.
