In una città dove è facile trovare quattro stelle che non ne dimostrano nemmeno tre, questo hotel è una sicurezza per chi ha bisogno di un po' di comfort. Attenzione, si sfrutta praticamente solo con l'auto (o il taxi).

We chose a superior room overlooking the outdoor pool and found it very spacious, well furnished, comfortable and very quiet. It had a balcony which would be very nice in summer. The staff were very friendly and the concierge staff very helpful at all times particularly prior to our stay when they answered our emails concerning transport from Ciampino airport to the hotel. We decided to take the Terravision bus into Rome centre and from there a taxi to the hotel but this was a great mistake and so booked a car through the hotel for our return to the airport. It cost a little more but was worth it. Breakfast buffet was good but the hot food was always cold. The restaurant for dinner was very expensive but there is a restaurant next to the hotel and plenty of eating places in the city. The bar menu although not extensive was good value. The free shuttle bus from the hotel ran infrequently but the bus runs frequently from outside the hotel the fare being only 1 euor to St Peters Square from where you can walk or catch another bus. Although some taxi drivers are honest and charge correctly some are dishonest. Would suggest if you know the correct fare and are being overcharged give the driver what it should be and tell him to call the police if not satisfied. Pickpockets on buses are far too common as my wife learnt to her expense so be vigilant at all times particularly on crowded buses. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would certainly recommend it and return there if we are ever in Rome again.

Very convenient shuttle service, in addition to wonderful accomodations.

I booked this hotel because I was fed up with the hotels in the historical centre which are expensive, have odd sized rooms and very unfriendly and rude staff. Crowne Plaza offered good quality rooms and staff are slightly more friendly than usual in Rome, but there is room for improvement. Main negative is the restaurant which is expensive and offers limited choice. The common areas look "tired" and are a bit cramped. I would probably stay again.

To get to the SPA you have to walk 50m outside. This was OK for end of summer but for winter... They don't let children under 16 to use the indoor pool. I can not understand why. We would have been alone there but they did not let a 14 year old child go in. 2 of 6 taxis called from the hotel tried to overcharge me. Knowing the prices I just let them drive to the destination and gave them the correct amount. Told them to call the police if they have a problem. This worked fine :-)

This was a great hotel for the money. I was disappointed with the location. It was not within walking distance to the Metro or to St. Peter' Square. Taxis were easy to get. Cost was about 8 Euro (one way) to get to St. Peter's Square. We did not try the bus service which seemed to be unpredictable.

Our stay at Crowne Plaza St. Peter's Hotel was very pleasant. Our check-in was very prompt and our room was ready when we arrived at 10:30 am. The hotel is very clean and the personnel very friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious compared to other hotels, very comfortable bed (king size), very nice bathroom w/ marble vanity, nice shower, and lots of amenities (soaps, shampoos, etc.). Nice fluffy, oversized bath towels! We had a hot pot w/ coffee and tea making facilities, an iron and ironing board, hair dryer. A nice sitting area w/ table, chairs, and a sofa to relax on. Our room was extremely quiet and you couldn't hear any noise from the other rooms on the floor. The concierge service was very helpful in ordering taxis for us and answering any other questions we had. We had a free shuttle bus that took us to the airport after our checkout. The lobby had nice sofas to relax in, a bar if you wanted to have cocktails, and a lovely restaurant that overlooked some nice gardens. We enjoyed our stay here and wished that we could have stayed a few more days to enjoy all the amenities offered. We would definitely stay here again and recommend the hotel to others. It was a pleasant stay!

Room service and dinner prices were expensive. The cocktail bar served food but this was not promoted within the hotel (we found out by accident). We found the lack of pavements (sidewalks) a distinct disadvantage, given the volume of traffic on the main road outside the hotel. For example, there was a nice park to the rear of the hotel but we chose not to walk to the entry because it meant walking on the road beside traffic.

Hotel staff were very accomodating and helpful. They reponded in a timely fashion to e mail inquiries as we made preparations prior to our trip. Breakfast buffet which was included, was excellent with many different options to choose from. Shuttle courtesy bus (from airport and to Vatican City)was efficient and a definite plus. I highly recommend this property.

Accommodation and staff were extremely good. Restaurant food limited and VERY expensive. Try "Trastavere" area particularly "Galeassi". Taxi rank on site very useful, would recommend hotel limousine service to get to and from Ciampino airport, not Terravision bus. This bus takes you into city centre which is not necessary.(Took us 2 hours going, only 20mins on return)

It has a very large pool, nice for the kids. It is a bus ride or cab ride from the main sights, definitely not walking distance to anything. It serves its purpose as a decent hotel.

We had a really enjoyable stay, however we were not aware that indoor pool was closed we were not advised but it did'nt affect our stay. Only disappointment was price of drinks, especially for children. Was especially impressed with the courtesy bus.

Wanted a base to enable sightseeing combined with leisure time so we plumped for the hotel knowing it offered both. Although outside the centre of town it was only a free bus or a 10-12 euro ride away. Room was nice clean and quiet. Public areas where fine although when parties of American tourists arrived en mass it could be very congested in the lobby for quite some time. Pool area was excellent very clean and a lovely sized pool that you will not find right in the centre of Rome. Food and drinks are a little expensive but Rome in general is not a low cost option for a break, food choice was also a little limited away from full service restaraunt but like most we ate in Rome most days. One small grumble indoor pool complex only for over 16's we have an 8 year old and she could not use the facility, not a huge issue in July heat but would see this as a drawback in winter and think they should rethink this. Overall good quality hotel and a very pleasant stay. One final note beware of the rate you pay we saw lots of rates lower than we had and lots higher too all after all for the same product.

we were placed in an area where there was a convention taking place. it was very noisy, crowded and just plain bad! i cannot believe that this was the only place left for us. the complimentary transport was well received.however, be warned that this runs at the pleasure of the hotel and you may find yourself disappointed and required to take a taxi for 50 euros to fco. the pool was very refreshing. the morning breakfast was quite diversified but all the 'hot' dishes were cold!

I booked this hotel predominantly for the pool and the shuttle. The pool was marvelous. We lounged there all afternoon on our last day in Italy. Unfortunately , the hotel was a people mill-very busy and not very caring reception staff as a rule. Our first contact was very courteous. I found the mattress very hard and therefore had a poor night. The breakfast was lovely-delicious and abundant. I personally loved the creamy eggs. The head waiter that day was very diligent and I found all the wait staff very pleasant.I would recommend this hotel. It has many pluses.Reception did recommend a restaurant within walking distance which we loved giardino abruzzo.

My partner and I stayed here in the middle of winter. As a resident of Gaeta, Italy I know Rome pretty well and found the Hotel extremely easy to find. There were Hotel signs up throughout all the major surrounding streets. However, if you are late night partiers or ever return to the hotel late, its kind of secluded from the center where everything is happening. We found that taxis began to get expensive and would reccommend taking city transportation whenever possible. It is very easy having a bus-stop directly to the right of the entrance of the hotel. All in all hotel was great but didnt expect ride, with bus and metro, to the center, to be 25 min. Would reccommend for business travelers or those not nocturnal driven.

We stay on 3 hotels in Rom, all tree ordered by venere. this one was absolut the best. The hotel Genio - ordered by my brother in law - under reservation request code 1301887 - was so ability and the price absolut too high. If you have something to do with the stars given, my I suggest you downgraded to 2 stars. Oe of the thing in Placa was that anyone want you to fill comfortable. Sorry for my bad english.

My friend and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were very helpful and the hotel facilities were comfortable and exactly as stated on the web page. It was a little out of the city centre but public transport was cheap and frequent. The hotel evening meals a little repetative but their is an excelent restaurant next door if you want to change place to eat without going to far from the hotel in all a very happy stay.

We are very casual people, and chose not to eat in the gourmet restruant, instead we ate sandwich type food in the lobby bar. It was very relaxed there and the food was great!! Our waiter Stephan was terrific!! My husband's mother who was traveling with us, went down to the gym and swimming pool and said that she was treated very well and really enjoyed it!! I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you want to be close to the Vatican, you can catch a bus right at the end of the driveway that will take you right there.

Very nice relaxing spa area. Nice breakfast. employees and concierge very helpful and friendly. Close distance to Trastevere. Honest taxi driver's 10 euro ride and even into the city about 10 euro. I was there for medical congress but, had a nice stay.

I specifically booked your hotel for the indoor pool facilities which we learnt are not available to under 16 year olds during check-in. I have rechecked your web site and there is absolutely no reference to this. Very disappointing, but appart from this we throught the hotel staff, service and value for money was excellent. Recommended for non families...

This is the best of both worlds - suburban hotel type roominess located close to the attractions. Good, free parking. Bus stop right outside is a 10-minute ride to St. Peter's. Then, just start walking around the city to view the sights. At the end of the day, forget about the busses (you'll be too tired to want to ride a bus anyway) and just take a 10 Euro or less taxi ride back to the hotel from just about anywhere in town. We loved the hotel and especially the indoor pools, spas etc that were provided at no extra charge!

My wife and I and our three adult ‘children’ stayed in the Crown Plaza from 30 August until the 4 September ’04. We found the comments on this website to be most helpful in making our booking and in making our stay enjoyable. The Crown Plaza is a lovely hotel and clearly deserves the consistently high ratings it receives. We followed the advice to request rooms overlooking the pool and we were happy that we did. The bedrooms were of a good size and well maintained the en suite though was quite small by comparison. We found the hotel staff to be helpful in every respect. The hotel is not in the centre of Rome and the journey does require a little thought, there is a frequent inexpensive public bus service with a connection to the metro. (Do mind your pockets). The hotel courtesy bus is good but with limited destinations, punctual but quite infrequent. There is a taxi rank on site and the Taxi fares particularly as there were five of us, proved good value. There is also on Avis Car hire facility on site. Perhaps the biggest problem we encountered was food. The hotel breakfast was very good however we found the dinner menu to be rather focused in its appeal, we dined there once. There is one other restaurant in the vicinity, just outside the hotel, it was quite good, we dined there one night. The other nights we took a taxi into Rome and this worked fine – more specific advice from the hotel in this regard would be most helpful. The information, placed in the rooms could be improved to include more specific information on: restaurants, tour guides, public transport and shopping etc – a simple clearly written ‘where to guide’ to give first timers the benefit of some local experience. Overall, a great hotel and highly recommended.

Dear, Ladies and Gentlemen! I was very satiesfied with all what a hotel can offer a guest. There wasn't any situation in this 4 days, I stayed in your Hotel, where I could say that wasn't OK for my girlfriend and me. But there ist one thing, which is very imporant for my girlfriend. She forgot a rose-coloured waistcoat in the room 516. I think it was the room 516. We stayed in your hotel during the 21st - 24th of July. Please give me an answer as soon as possible and let me know how we can get the waistcoat???? Thanks in advance und Best regards Riegler Herbert Dieselweg 14/1/29 A-8041 Graz

I have to say that I could not fault the hotels that I stayed in The Carlton Grand Canal Venice and the Crowne Plaza St. Peters in Rome. The location of the hotel in venice is second to none, all you have to do is get a taxi from the airport to the Piazzia Roma and then you can actually walk along the grand canal for 5 mins and you are at the hotel. It is also directly accross the road from the train station so if you are arriving by train you can see the hotel as soon as you exit the station. This is a key factor when staying in venice as there are no cars and all transport is by boat and you may find that the boat can then only drop you to the nearest point which could leave you with a long walk with all your baggage!! We met many people wandering around with there baggage throughout are stay trying to locate their hotels. The hotel was small and lovely the staff extremely helpful and friendly. Are room was a good size with beautiful decor. I would stress that we picked a patio room which appeared to be slightly larger in size than some of the rooms that perhaps looked onto the canal as they are part of the old building. So if you are looking for a great view you might have to compromise on space or get a larger room. Venice itself is amazing I would recommend it highly to anyone. Now for are stay in Rome the hotel was lovely with great facilities, although the hotel indicates that it provides transport to the city you should be warned that they are very limited and provide none for the evening after 10.00pm which leaves alot of taxi journeys which can be quite expensive espeically after midnight. The hotel was excellent the standard of cleanliness and efficency second to none I would definitely stay there again on a long trip but not for a short stay as it is too far out of the city with not enough free transfers to Rome for my needs. The rooms are large and spacious with tea/coffee making facilities. I would reccommend that you ask for a pool view as one side of

Whenever I am in Rome (several times a year) I always try to stay at Crowne Plaza-Rome St Peter's. It is the best hotel value in Rome, bar none. From airport shuttle service to fine dining and friendly pool services, you can't beat the Crowne Plaza, my condolences to all on the untimely passing of Margarette, who was an asset to the Reception Desk.

If you are driving to the hotel it is a nightmare to find! It would be best to get the hotel to fax or e-mail directions as the map on the web site was not very helpful and even the locals did not know where the hotel was! Once you are there it is excellent, try to request a room overlooking the pool.

The room we reserved was described as "superior" but it was not what we expected from that description. The balcony overlooked the rear of the hotel and gave an excellent view of what appeared to be building work which had been started and the abandoned. I would recommend anyone booking a room here to insist on one which overlooks the pool area. Overall our 5 night stay at this hotel was a pleasant experience.
