Nice and silent rooms, a bit old, but didn't matter. - Historical elevator. :-) Location perfectly central in the restaurant and pub mile. Just 15 min. walk to the Notre Dame and other sight seeing locations. Rich and good quality breakfast buffet. Very friendly and helpful staff! Parking in the garage next to the hotel, only 6 EUR per night. Would definitely book it again.

We have been to Reims often and did know the Bristol as a great place to stay. Its location in the centre of the city make it a optimal starting point for sight-seeing, and dining of course. The Rooms are comfortable, although not first class. We always prefer a room "sur la rue" (facing the street), because we love the wonderful nightlife on the Place Drouet-d'Erlon.

This was the first time we have stayed at the Bristol. The location was good, but tricky with the car to transport bags back to the hotel.Once we found the shortest route to/from the underground car park it was ok. Xmas market stalls in the centre of the pedestrian zone,obscuring the views did not help. Hotel gave us a ticket for reduced price car park stay too. We stayed in a double room overlooking the back area.Not too bad a view and nice and quiet. The lift is unbelievably small, i just about got myself and 2 soft bags in it! Not bad for value at €68 for 2 people per night. Good location in the main pedestrian area of Rheims.

This is an older hotel that retains most of its Edwardian splendour, including a wonderful, creaky old 'cage' type lift and some elegant old furniture in the bedrooms. In the middle of a square full of restaurants and bars, yet the room wasn't noisy. A power failure in our room that left us completely in the dark was quickly attended to. A hair-dryer was provided on request. For anyone on the way to or from a cross-Channel ferry, this would make an excellent stopover. Didn't try the breakfast so can't comment on this.

The hotel was clean and as described but they charged my credit card from the details I had entered on the venere website once we had arrived at the hotel with out my knowledge, I was not happy about this

Unfortunately, we stayed here one wet late September night. We were expecting inexpensive but not this jaded and worse was to come. It was without doubt the worst night we have ever spent in a hotel anywhere. Sleep was simply impossible due to singing/shouting groups until 3.30am and thereafter due to the loudest, most-mechanised, comprehensive fleet of cleaning equipment assembled in the world which proceeded to remove individually every speck of dirt in the pedestrian area... and then do it again. We threw in the towel at 6.30am to drive to the tunnnel utterly drained. The receptionist must have the least rewarding job in the French hotel business dealing with the severely underwhelmed clientele it generates. If you do have to stay here, don't even think about a room at the front - the summer must be mayhem. On the very much brighter side, Brasserie Flo, 50 mtres up the street is a beacon of all that is good in the best of chain restaurants and should be booked immediately on arrrival in Reims.

The road system around the hotel is very confusing and directions on the web did not help. It wouldn'thave been so difficult if we'd known where to park (underground car park). Other than that, it was a nice reasonable hotel to stay.

Bristol has made the most of its possibilties. It's clean and the staff were very helpful. Our double-room was so small, that we had to lift our suitcases over the bed in order to bring them into the room and the bed was only 1,40m which is rather small for two people. Our room overlooked an inner court where the constant sound of the ventilation and the talking of the restaurant staff kept waking us up throughout the night.

Old hotel. Central location for shops, restaurants and cathedral. Hotel bedroom adequate for overnight stay, although room small and bed small. Bathroom needs modernising. Parking information inadequate. Food: dinner substantial; breakfast very good.

The best thing about this hotel is it's location, especially if you are travelling by train. It is literally almost right accross the street from the train station. The champagne houses are walking distance if you are up for about a mile or so walk. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, provided me with maps of the city. I did not eat the hotel breakfast, since it was a cold continental. Instead I went accross the street and had a nice hot breakfast for about 8 euro. The room was small, but enough for one person, maybe even two. There was a smell of cleaning solution or something, which was unpleasant at first, but it went away (or I just got used to it). Bathrooms were clean, and the shower was good. They do have an elevator, which not all hotels have, so that is good. However, it is a little small, so don't take large bags with you. I'd say it is a great value for the price.

The staff was personable and helpful. The restaurant was excellent! The walk to the Cathedral Notre-Dame of Reims is easy and you get some great photos on the walk up. Be sure to go inside and look at the stained glass. There are three windows by Chagall. It is truly a sight to behold. Then its out the front door and left to the champagne shop. It has some of the small independent wine makers as well as all the big names. We enjoyed everything that we got there. Take a taxi to Pommery. You should go early to get a tour in your native tongue. If your don't get in on the tour, you can still taste the wines for a fee. Their staff is friendly and helpful. BEST chocolate IN THE WORLD is WAIDA. It is a couple of blocks away from the Bristol hotel on the opposite side of the street. Look in the front window for golf ball sized chocolate balls. They are chocolate inside rolled in hazel nuts and then dipped in milk chocolate again. INCREDIBLE!! I've eaten chocolate in Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Canada, Mexico, and England (and of course the USA) nothing even comes close. The second place chocolate in the world (according to BOB) is Roger's chocolates in Canada.

it's a good hotel right in the centre of reims. there is nearby (150m) a spacious parkinggarage with a discount at the reception of the hotel. We also had a good breakfast

Excellent value hotel centrally placed. Very good hotel restaurant and many other within a few minutes walk. Overnight parking not a problem with discounted rates for hotel guests in very loacl underground carpark. Don't risk parking illegally as you'll get towed by the police (as happened to some unlucky guests). We had a family room (parents + 6 year old) which was good and fairly spacious with good bathroom, etc. Decorations aging but great value for money. We would happily stay again.

The kitchen ventilation in the middle of the inner courtyard runs 24 hours and disturbes during the whole night. Some of the counter staff are very helpful - gratulations.

This was a decent place to stay and it was in a very nice area. We had a had time sleeping because it was so hot and there were no fans, and there is no breeze. We slept with the windows open and wet towels wrapped around our head. If you are going in the summer, I would recommend finding a hotel with air conditioning. The heat made it impossible for us to return to our room to relax after walking around. Just too hot in there!

We stayed for one night and wanted a hotel located centrally and easy to find. Bristol gave us both, it was easy to find and located spot on the main pedestrian street. Parking was offered in a big underground parking garage just outside/underneath the hotel. We also found quite a few Champagne houses nearby, within walking distance and/or short drive. We got what could be expected from a 2-star hotel and found the price well worth in comparison. The hotel restaurant was also worth a visit, not very cheap but good food, wine and service. The rooms were not so big and got quite hot during summer.

We needed to stay in Reims as we were travelling to Southern France and needed to stay overnight somewhere. found it very difficult to find hotel, didn't know it was in the middle of a pedestrian precinct, couldnt park the car in underground car park as we had a roof box on, my husband has walking difficulties and found it awkward walking from and to the car park at the railway station. It took us overall 1 1/2 hrs to locate hotel as Reims was very busy at 6pm on 13th July and the main road to the hotel was closed to traffic! The only meal we had was breakfast which was quite basic and catered for the continental cuisine.

Loved the location...convenient to train station, and surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and shops. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was typical: tiny with bare-bones decor, and the noise from the stairwell was a little bothersome at night. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was very clean. Breakfast "buffet" was disappointing in it's lack of choices...you're better off going to a neighboring cafe. Because there are so many other hotels in this area, I would probably try a different one next time. We enjoyed our stay, but it was by no means remarkable.

We had a room at the front of the hotel which was very noisy throughout the night. There are a number of restaurants and bars directly outside the hotel, after patrons had noisily left the area (midnight) bar owners noisily cleared up their tables and chairs (1am). A sewage pump truck woke us at around 2am and street cleaners arrived at an astonishing 5am to clean the area with water jets. Bars noisily reaopened prior to breakfaast. The room itself smelled bad due to a patch of damp around the window. Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke good English when our Franch failed. The bristol café ajoining the hotel is good, and the breakfast there was very pleasant. Overall, the price paid for this room, though it as at the cheaper end of the market, was simply not worth it.

Hotel ideally located, the square had tens of pubs, bars and restaurants, and still the rooms were quiet. Only small drawback, breakfast for 8,50 euro is really too much, you can get much cheaper in bars within walkin distance. Otherwise great stay.

We arrived at the hotel at 8pm, only to be told our room was not yet ready and we would have to wait 15 minutes. This was annoying after a long car journey and surely unnecessary as all rooms should have been ready at this time.

We had a room with a small balcony. It was fun to stand outside and watch the activity below. Nice view at night too. At closing time and before opening you could hear the staff at nearby cafes moving chairs and tables, putting them away each night/resetting outdoor seating each morning. Might be a negative for early to bed or late sleepers.

We had a triple room (a double and a single) as our daughter was with us. The hotel is extremely well situated: take a card at the car park, and then the hotel charges you a daily rate of 6 euros (the real rate is 11 euros). The only minor drawbacks: the lift is small and slow; breakfast is quite expensive, but there are lots of other places nearby where you can get coffee and croissants etc. We stayed for two nights and dined both evenings at the Martin Brasserie (good food and friendly service, they also have a children's menu). We also had lunch once at the Salon de thé Louise (interesting and reasonably priced: 6 euros for a glass of champagne!), and excellent sandwiches from the Paul bakery opposite the Theatre. We visited the cathedral and the basilica: we went to the basilica by bus. We also visited the Pommery Champagne house, where there is an underground art exhibition. You can book a visit through the tourist office at the cathedral. It costs 10 euros including a glass of champagne, free for children, but no champagne.

Unfortunately, the room that we were put into was on the lower level and next to the street, so the noise was unbearable. The plumbing in the hotel was also incredibly noisy. The rooms could certainly use new carpet and curtains. The hosts were very nice. The restaurant in the hotel was very good, although the service wasn't very friendly.

Staying at Reims for two days, and coming from Grenoble without knowing anything from Reims, we choose this hotel because quite the only one Two stars located in the center close to the cathedral and other buildings, making them very easy to visit by foot. The parking was unfortunately not free of charge, even with special rates for the hotel clients (6 € for a night.

An overnight stop on the way back from the French Alps. Spacious triple bedrooms with large double bed and standard single bed. Clean surroundings and plenty of character! Ideal stop-over in more pleasant surroundings than the standard hotel chains. I would return for a long weekend, either with or without the children.

Staff were very helpful. The Bristol is located very close to a number of restaurants and bars, though we were never disturbed by noise. Cheap (open air) car parking is close by, and there is underground parking even closer. Definitely recommended.
