We stayed three nights and were very impressed with the friendly and welcoming staff. The location was superb and the hotel itself of the highest quality. Would recommend it highly and would go back there again!

We stayed here for the first time and certainly will come back! The hotel is perfectly located, clean and well refurbished. The breakfast was lovely and all staff very helpful. As a family with two children we sometimes have to compromise on space in quadruple rooms but it wasn't a case in this hotel. There was a king size bed and two single beds and still plenty of room.

This hotel is better than my expectation. The room is spacious and clean. Atomosphere of the room is better than the pictures on the wab page. One of the best thing is breakfast. The quality of bread, ham and juice is the best during my travel. I can enjoy breakfast. No need to say, the location is the best! It's center of Ravenna.

The room was ok the location was excellent. You couldn't be more central. Breakfast (included was good. You can't drive into central Ravenna unless you tell the hotel your number plate so you don't receive a fine in the mail when you get home. The cr park is a good 10 minute walk with luggage to the hotel, but only 2.50 euro per day.

The location of this hotel was excellent. Right in the pedestrian walking zone in the center of town and within walking distance to all the major sites (namely the mosaics). The staff was very friendly, helpful and accomodating. I would definitely return and stay in this hotel again!

Had a great time. Ravenna is a gem. Getting to the hotel with a car (to drop bags) is a real mind-bender, so pack light and walk. The 'Centrale' in the name is well-deserved. The rooms were clean and nice for an inexpensive hotel...a much needed price break from Venezia!

We wanted to be right in the historic center of Bologna & this hotel is certainly there! We had our auto with us & the staff suggested we park it in a nearby piazza & we could pay the Hotel for the parking permit which was 7 euro for 24 hours. This was a great solution as we were somewhat worried about where we would find a place. The parking area was less than a block behind the Hotel and it worked out perfectly. I have to admit that we were pleasantly surprized by the nice decoration of the room we occupied and its feel of comfortable coziness. All the staff were quite friendly & helpful and we regretted we had so little time on this trip for Bologna. We definitely plan to go back soon and I would certainly stay at this hotel again.

Friendly and helpful if little contact with staff. We were recommended to an excellent restaurant called La Gardella. Also nearby is the covered market, good place to buy picnic lunches.Hotel centrally located. Most attractions within walking distance.

The location is very good, right in the middle of everything. If you arrive by car, be aware the central district is closed to unauthorised traffic and you'll get a fine unless you ask hotel reception to notify the authorities that you are a guest there and so can drop off/collect luggage. Good, cheap parking available nearby.

The hotel is perfectly located in the center of old town in Ravenna, just a couple of steps from the central square. The room is spacious and very clean. The breakfast was as usual in Europe the standard bread and some ham with cheese, but with plenty of coffee and juice. The staff at the reception was very helpful and friendly. I would reccomend this hotel to everyone who seeks for good value and relatrively small price.

Everything was good. The location of hotel is excellent - near the centre square of city, but it was no noise in the room.
The only problem was that I couldn`t recive any fax information about my reservation, which I needed for making visa to Italy. The hotel manager answered me one time and didn't answer to my other letters :(
But offline contacts with personnel were nice.

The hotel was ideally located, just off the main square, however, my room facing the street was noisy. The configuration of the very small bathroom was a bit dangerous, with the edge of the shower stall right up against the room needed for the door to open inside the bathroom. I tripped on it a couple of times just trying to get through the door. Also, the front desk person forgot to return my passport when I left and since I didn't discover this until I got to the next town, I was obliged to return to get it. I think it is the responsibility of the hotel to return passports without having to ask for them or at least to make some kind of amends when they forget.

My only real complaint was that our room smelled of stale smoke and the air conditioning was a bit weak. That said, Hotel Centrale Byron was perfectly situated in Ravenna, close to all the important landmarks and some excellent restaurants. Good breakfast, pleasant staff. Would definitely stay there again.

I would recommend staying in hotel Byron. Our room was somewhat small but we had a bath tub (nice for a change if you travel longer). the lady at the reception was being very friendly and helpful. The breakfast room was pleasant to stay in and we enjoyed the buffet.Being so close to Piazza del populo gives you a wonderful start to get to know beautiful Ravenna.

There was major resurfacing work being done in the street on which the hotel main entrance is. Although we were changed to a room looking towards the back in order to avoid noise, other residents must have been woken up early - should there not have been a warning at the time of booking and was there a discount for affected clients?
The room furnishing were clean but looked a little "tired", the stairs and vast staircase area looked a bit like those in a 1950s hospital and the lift was tiny.

The hotel staff were incredible and very helpful! The hotel is in a perfect location, right in the heart of Ravenna. I felt very safe in the neighborhood even into the evenings because there were so many people out and about. (Luckily I never heard them from my room.) My only problem was that my telephone Italia phone card didn't work from any of the hotel's phones.

Easy walk from the train station - nice breakfast. Welcoming and helpful staff. Small room, but the price was low also. Almost all the areas with mosaics are withing easy walking distance of this hotel. Finding an open restaurant on Sunday night is a challenge. This city is a real jewel!

An excellent location right at the centre of the town, helpful staff and a quiet area in the evening allowing a good night's sleep. Breakfast was generous and the coffee good. I thoroughly recommend this hotel which is not far from the famous mosaics.

March 16th, 2007: We stayed there on a Friday night and could not sleep until the loud mouths outside decided to shut-up at 3 in the morning. The soundproofing of this hotel is inexistent. The hotel is well located but hard to reach with a car since there is a lot of road work & detours near the hotel.

My husband, two kids and I spent one night at Hotel Byron. It is in an excellent location, just off the main piazza. In our room for 4, the two single daybeds did not have linens for sleeping but hotel staff readily remedied. The room was next to the elevator shaft so it was quite noisy. Breakfast was OK, nothing special.

It doesn't get more central than this! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and fell in love with Ravenna. Great restaurants, wine bars & shops nearby. Found parking about 5 mins walk from hotel. Would love to come back.

A wonderful welcoming Hotel, competent and helpful staff. I imagine this is due to the fact that the hotel is outside of those awful 'chains' where bad management is the theme!! and passed from one to the other.
My stay at Hotel Byron Central in Ravenna was wonderful.
PS The breakfast buffet superb!

If you plan to visit ancient Ravenna, this hotel is perfectly situated in the middel of the town, with walking distance to all ancient churches, surrounded by reastaurants and cafés of good quality. And with a nice and helpful staff. And a good breakfast.
