Hotel Rufolo was very nice. It was also very expensive. The staff, although nice enough, seemed at times to be put out by requests. If you are a tech saavy traveller, this hotel offers wi-fi, but you have to be in the bar area to use it and they charge by the half hour (which I thought was a slap in the face, given what they are charging for rooms). The views are great, though, and the hotel is very close to the center of Ravello, a beautiful and charming little town. The Villa Cimbrone, right up the steps, is the most beautiful place I've ever visited in my life! Don't miss it. It's a little difficult to visit surrounding towns while you're here, so if your goal is to go to Positano, or Capri, or the like, you might want to consider staying in those towns. If you want the relaxing charm of a small Italian village nestled in the mountainside coast of the Mediterranean, Ravello is for you. No nightlife to speak of. Eat at Cumpa Cosimo.

Beautiful hotel and location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant was very good and there is plenty of choice for other local restaurants. Only minor downsides were the bedroom was on the small side and the temperature of the pool was far too cold. Otherwise it's an excellent hotel with stunning views.

Ravello is ravishing! And Rufulo is very nicely situated off the main square. Rooms were not overly spacious, but very clean and comfortable. We dined in the restaurant the night we stayed, and the service was wonderful. Breakfast on the terrace is a treat - lots of choice. This is not an intimate hotel, but we liked it and would have liked to linger. The pool and the outdoor terrace is lovely, with showers, and towles provided. Given the location of the town (half way up a mountain)we could have done with better advice about how to get back to Naples, although we were provided with bus and boat schedules.

Our stay at the Rufolo was very relaxing - beautful views, great service, and a quiet atmosphere. Breakfast buffet was the best we had during our stay in Italy (out of 6 hotels), and dinner was good too. We would definitely stay here again and hope to return soon.

Overall an excellent hotel with outstanding location in the beautiful village of Ravello.
It was the standard of service that stood out from all other elements though. The staff could not have been more helpful. One quibble would be the difference between a suite with sea view and an ordinary room. The difference in price did not match the overall offering of the suite !

The location of the Rufolo hotel is spectacular, with stunning views over the sea, and ideally located 2 mins from the main square. We were lucky to arrive in the middle of the music festival, which afforded us the chance to see a live group in the floodlit grounds of the Villa Rufolo next door.
We had a standard garden view room - a bit on the compact side, with a tiny wondow, but very clean.
Only slight complaint was when we had dinner in the hotel restaurant. They wouldn't let us see the bill to check it and just charged it to the room - when we asked for a breakdown when we checked out it turned out they had "made a mistake" and overcharged us by 15 Euros. Which was a shame because otherwise it was a wonderful stay.

Fairly casual attitude of staff. We were offered an ocean view room rather than the booked garden view at an extra cost of E20,00 which we decided was worth it but why not just offer us an upgrade when the hotel was obviously not full. Far too expensive for what it was - just because it is Ravello and the guests are "captive" it is certainly not value for money. Did not like being TOLD, not asked, not to do any personal washing - essential when travelling and not affordable at hotel prices. Restaurant was OK but overpriced for what it was. Breakfast only adequate.

I had taken HB because I thought the food would be excellent but I was extremely disappointed. There were few people staying at the hotel and the vegetables for dinner were self-service and looked as if they had been there for a couple of hours. Breakfast was also very disappointing.

Great location even for this town which is beautiful and with the absence of cars a big improvement on the coastal towns. Lunch was taken each day & food was excellent. Pool is unheated but this was also the case in a 4* we had in CApri. Not many Hotels in Ravello seem to offer a pool. Room views excellent & daily cleaning also exceptional.
