excellent breakfast every morning-best we had on our entire trip in Italy!
Largest room we had in Italy although the most uncomfortable bed ( not too bad though)
great staff-very helpful
great location with access to ferry boat and train to nearby Portofino, santa margarita, and cinque terra areas
great restuarants and the best gelataria and view of the med.

The staff was the nicest group of people we encountered on our entire trip to Italy and that's after being in many different cities.
The receptionists went way beyond kind taking care of us. The breakfast was superior thanks to the professional woman in there. Over all, this was one excellent hotel! Our room was attractively decorated and the location was perfect.

Absolutely the best choice we could do. Maybe the low season helped, but employees were as kind as possible. Rooms were clean and spacious. The surroundings of the hotel are simply beautiful, no hints to give about where to go, because the position is so easy to understand.

The hotel was as represented by Venere - we had a junior suite on the fourth floor looking out into the harbour. Room was very spacious and clean. The power shades on the windows kept both the sun and noise out of the room - very handy. The young lady at the front desk was very helpful and gave us lots of good advice. The hotel location is very handy for the ferry that goes to Portofino and Santa Margarita. I would recommend this facility - an excellent value. The breakfast were provided by the hotel and was outstanding with a wide selection of everything including some wonderful yogurt.

Lovely hotel in a perfect location. Had never been to Rapallo before and absolutely fell in love with it. Would definitely like to visit again and would stay at the Hotel Tigullio Royal. Our room for three was perfect and had a small balcony that we sat out on. Staff were very friendly and very helpful.

Wireless internet does not work on floors 2 and 3. Asked to be moved to a floor where internet was working, only room avaliable was a junior suite, and had to pay to upgrade.
Overall a nice hotel with friendly staff, but needs to be upgraded soon. Also quiet noisy since its located in one of the more busy intersections in Rapallo.

great hotel, good value and good service. The room was very large and had a small balcony overlooking rooftops but also the sea. Beware the neighbours could see into the room if the curtain wasn't drawn! Breakfast was excellent with all tastes accommodated and also the chance to take breakfast on the small balcony overlooking the sea front. The parking situation was a bit strange. There's a market held in the parking area (directly in front of the hotel) on Thursdays until about 3. We arrived at 3:15 when the barriers to the parking area were not yet re-installed. No problem, just tekll the voice at the exit gate that you're staying at the Tigullio and they let you out ;).
The staff were friendly enough and helpful with advice aboutwhere to go what to do.
The beach was very nice and clean, with good facilities and reasonably priced however this does not include food which was VERY expensive.
There's ferries to other ports along the coast, we went to Portofino which was lovely but again I would not recommend eating or taking coffee for that matter. We stopped at a place called La Citta, American Cafe, which charged 20€ for 2 cappucinos and a bottle of water - no doubt funding a new Ferrari....
Would strongly recommend the great sea-food restaurant "Eden" in Rapallo(ask the hotel for directions) which was outstanding.
I would use the hotel again and hopefully not in the too distant future!

The staff of Hotel Tigullio Royal made our stay wonderful. Excellent English-speaking skills and committment to customer service and quality. The hotel is located right across from the bay and parking is ample across the street. Our only complaint was the bed in our room; it was very hard. Otherwise, the facilities were top-notch!

Our experience was wonderful, the staff was very friendly, and the rooms where quite large. As we later found out compared to other hotels during our stay in Italy, the Hotel Tigullio Royal, had a wonderful breakfast offered, and clean newer rooms. An elevator.
TV with english channels. Everything they advertised is what they had to offer, there was no hidden fees or ammenities.

March 9 & 10th, 2007: This is the best hotel we booked with Venere.com. Everything was perfect; the rooms, the location near the water, the staff, the view & the breakfast. And on top of that we were lucky to be there while an old classic car rally was taking place. The hotel is 10 minutes walking distance from the Montallegro cableway excursion that can take you on top of the mountains for a magnificient view of the Rapallo bay.

The hotel faces the front street of the waterfront, which offers a nice view but can be noisy. On our first night the Italian team won a game in the World Cup tournament, and we had horns blowing, motor scooters racing, and people yelling outside, starting at 11 PM. The next 2 days involved a town holiday, so our days started early and ended late with fireworks and marching bands just outside the room. The breakfast room was particularly lovely. However, this was the only hotel (out of 6) that we stayed in during our Italy trip that required your room number before you could take breakfast and the only one that would not allow you to take an extra croissant back to the room. Some of the front desk staff were very helpful, however. The holiday prevented me from parking the rental car in the usual place near the hotel, and one of the staff members drove with me to find an alternative place.

We had never been to Rapallo. We enjoyed this hotel and would definately stay there again. It is very central to a lot of shops, restaurants and the water. The room was very spacious and clean. The price was resonable considering we were there during the summer (July).

Fantastic location at the harbor - easy parking across the street in a large lot. Would certainly stay again - excellent place to take off to Portofino by bus or to the Cinque Terre by train, leaving the car to rest in the lot.

The Tiguillio Royal was a very nice hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly. It was easy to find and centrally located for exploring the city and points beyond. We especially enjoyed the food and the cheerful breakfast room each morning.

This is a fantastic hotel. The location is superb - right at the hub of Rapallo - 2 minutes to the boat service and 5 minutes to the railway and bus stations. My room was immaculate and very spacious, and would have been even better if I'd gone for the seaview; even so the view over the rooftops to the mountains was nice. Very professional staff, polite, friendly and cheerful - especially those in the breakfast room. And as for that breakfast!...an incredible array of fresh fruit, focaccia, pastries, cheese, eggs and much more served with beautiful linen, crockery and cutlery. Thoroughly recommended.

Room was a bit noisey with people going for breakfast at 7.30 and a sound of runniing water every so often.
expensive but good location, be nice to have passes for the beach though, instead of paying for it on top.

I had a wonderful time there. I stayed for 20 days, and I would definitely return. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. A few employees made an exceptional impression and were very helpful. Elisabetta, Irena, Francesco, and the girls at breakfast. Housekeeping did a great job as well. I would also reccommend Tigullio to anyone staying in the Rapoll area :o) Sincerely, Kelley Nelson

Although the triple room was very nice it did not have a balcony as we had requested and booked well in advance. The hotel was fully occupied so no change could be made - so was disappointing. Staff were apologetic. Otherwise hotel was central, clean and nice, though we thought, for a 4 star rating, that it was not as nice as the 3 star hotels we had been staying in prior to this in Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa and Viarregio.

We were treated badly when we arrived,Although we booked a seaview, with the price wich goes with it,we were told by reception on arrival that people who book through Venere only get the rooms at the back of the Hotel.Even after we produced an e-mail from the Hotel confirming our stay with seaview she insisted that the e-mail didn't guarantee a seaview. We refused to except any other room and after one big unpleasant row,we were given a room with a partial seaview.Don't stay here if you book through Venere, they regard you as a second rate traveller and only give you second rate accommodation.

A very nice hotel, conveniently located near shops, restaurants and beaches, and within walking distance from the train station. The staff speaks English and was very helpful and responsive to our requests. The breakfasts served were excellent.

The hotel is well positioned and the sea facing rooms may be pleasant. It is modern with good fire precuations. It needs them: the rooms at the back (201,301,401 etc are next to a derelict building that is probably a fire hazard and there would be no escape from there. That building is infested with pigeons ("flying rats") that sit on the window cill from dawn and feel as though they are trying to get through the shutter. Apart from that, it is fine. The choice at breakfast is excellent.
