The Golden Tulip Diplomat Hotel Prague is located on the very edge of Prague's historic centre, only 10 minutes from the airport. Close to the Prague Castle, it is surrounded mainly by diplomatic residences.

Three floors are reserved for non-smokers and there is one specially equipped room with disabled facilities. The spacious Conference Centre with its sixteen rooms can accommodate up to 820 persons and provides state-of-the-art audio-visual technology, multimedia equipment and facilities for simultaneous interpreting. Moreover, it is the only hotel in Prague equipped with electronic navigation system and flat screens all over the property.

Generally a good experience. There is a train station right outside which you'll need to use since the real sight-seeing is not walking distance. The free breakfast is decent and satisfying. We had dinner in the restaurant on the first night. We were both satisfied with the service. I liked my meal, but my wife did not like hers. We had a problem with a light bulb in our room and the technician was sent up within minutes. Also, when some loud partying kids were playing soccer in the hallways at midnight (yes you read that right!), a call to the desk stopped that right away. Although its a 4-star, the price was a bit high for the overall prices of Prague. I would recommend it but check out other 4-stars because there are other quality hotels around this price range. I would have liked something a bit closer to the old city area. They say that's its near the castle but that is one stop away on the train and not really close enough of a walk.

Excellent hotel for staying in Prague. Very close to the centre (only 2 metro stations)Only disadvantage is that parking is not included in the room prices, and its quite expensive, plus you are warned, that parking outside the garage is a high risk for robbery. Anyhow, overall we spent a pleasant 4 days in this hotel.

Altough not the most picturesque hotel it was of excellent quality and great value. Also has very good transport access to all areas of Prague via the adjacent Metro, Trams and Buses. Easy to get to from the airport.

By car
From D1-Brno, Vienna, Ceské Budejovice: follow the motorway towards the city center (Centrum). Once there, follow the signposts for Karlovy Vary, driving through Veletrzní and Milady Horákové streets. Turn right to Svatovítská street and drive on until you reach the circle square (Vítezné námestí) at its end. Then take the exit signposted Airport. The hotel is situated approximately 100 metres past the square on the left-hand side.
From D4-Strakonice: head towards the city centre (Centrum). Follow the Strakonická street running alongside the Vltava river. At Smíchov follow the signposts for Strahovský tunel/Dejvice. Drive through the tunnel and at its end turn right towards Dejvice. Follow the Milady Horákové street. After approx. 2 km turn left onto Svatovítská street. Then follow the above-said indications.
From D5-Plzen: at the end of the motorway follow the direction towards the city center (Centrum) and Motol. Approx. 1 km after the Motol hospital (a big blue building on your right) turn right at the large junction (Vypich) on the top of the hill to Patockova street. Follow the road for about 5 km and then turn left to Svatovítská street, then follow the above-said indications.
From D8-Teplice, Berlin, Dresden: head towards the city center (Centrum) through V Holesovickách street until you reach the Vltava river. Cross the Barikádníkù bridge. On the other side turn right towards Holesovice railway station. Turn left, pass the sport complex on your right and then turn right towards Veletrzní street. Follow the street until it becomes the street Milady Horákové. Drive on and then turn right onto Svatovítská street. Then follow the above-said indications.
From D10/E65/E67-Hradec Králové, Podebrady: leave the motorway at Cerný and head towards the city center through Vysocany and Karlín. Follow the signposts for Dejvice. Drive through Veletrzní street until it becomes the Milady Horákové street. Drive on and then turn right onto Svatovítská street. Then follow the above-said indications.
From D6-Karlovy Vary: follow the street Karlovarská towards the city center (Centrum). Turn left onto Drnovská street on the edge of the city. After approx. 3 km, turn right onto Evropská street. Follow the road for about 8 km. The hotel is situated on the right-hand side.
From D7-Chomutov, Slaný, airport: head towards the city center (Centrum). Enter Evropská street and follow it for about 8 km. The hotel is situated on the right-hand side.
