I was happy with this reservation. I was driving and it is right off the main road SS165 making it easy to find. In the summer this may make it too noisy. I was afraid the climb up to the hotel would be too strenusous. But it was not at all and since it is located at the top of Positano, the views from our room and the pool are spectacular. Also it is just one block from Le Sirenuse where we had an excellent dinner and their are very fine shops close by that, if you were staying further down the cliffs, you might never discover. All in all I was very pleased. One Caveat, they probably gave us the best room in the property because it was off season. We were on the fourth floor which made the noise from the road less and the views better. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

There is no question my family was very happy with our stay at Eden Roc. Positano can be very difficult for tourists, because of the steep slope upon which the town is located. There are only two roads that travel through Positano, somewhat parallel and joining at the north and south ends of the town. Eden Roc is located on the upper road just about where the two roads join on the south side of Positano. The hotel is therefore very easy to reach by car, and unloading luggage is very easy. Hotels located below the lower road are closer to the beach, but harder to reach with luggage. In any case, we found Eden Roc's location to be an excellent compromise between overall view of the town, access to transportation, access to downtown, and easy exit from Positano.
We couldn't say enough about the hotel itself. The rooms were spacious, immaculately clean, comfortable, and generally lovely. The balconies are on a main road as mentioned above, but the balcony doors seal well, and keep street noise, when presetn, to a minimum. The staff are a joy in all respects. They all speak reasonable English, and are extraordinarily helpful. Tony makes an excellent capuccino, and even packed our car when we left.
Our family of five stayed in a two-bedded room and three-bedded room on the third floor. We were very happy. We've been to Italy many times and have stayed in many hotels. Unless, you want to stay near the beach in Positano, you will be happy at Eden Roc.

The staff at Eden Roc were so gracious and really helped my husband plan 3 wonderful days in Positano. Our room was great with a lovely balcony/patio that had a beautiful view. Positano was just what I imagined and the staff and hotel of Eden Roc just added to our great stay.

Lovely hotel - thoroughly enjoyed it, especially terrace off room and views of positano. We were v lucky with room situation and had a standard room. Did think it was expensive for what you got at €280 per room per night, but then again it was peak season in Positano so what else can you expect!

stayed at eden roc 8/9/2007 for 5 nights. stayed in jr suite with the jacuzzi/shower combo in bath. this room would hold 4 people comfortablly. tons of closets and drawers. tv had great cable stations. maids were great and quiet. hotel was in a better location, not so many steps as some others, posa posa, poseidon, etc, which were located on other side. great little convienent store right below hotel. great breakfast with staff. internet access in lobby 30 min's for 8 euros. closest hotel Sirenuse. best restaurant cafe positano, although it is a hike. over all, very happy with hotel and location, only dislike was the run down pull out sofa and futon chair in this suite.

This is a beautiful hotel with a incredible view and an easy walk into the main part of town if you are not carrying luggage. We travel in Europe frequently and found the room size is the largest of any hotels. The staff was very outgoing and helpful. The challenge is the arriving from boat and paying the transport fee of $30 to get the luggage to the hotel. Walking to the hotel with the luggage would be impossible due to the amount of steps in this very steep town. There is a wonderful restaurant with in easy walking called "Brunos". The two meals we had there were some of the best on the entire trip and very well priced. There is a little catch with the staff...they do try to talk you into getting back to Naples by paying a driver $200 or more stating it is the best way. Instead, book one of the many boats that travel to Naples, Pompeii, or any of the other cities. It's faster and the view is unbelievable and it is MUCH less. We did see Pompeii on our way to the hotel. We arrived at Naples by train from Rome and took the Circumvesia train to Pompeii. It is a slow moving train, very crowded but we did arrive safely. Naples and the entire area was full of graffiti and a bit on the rough side. It is good to plan to move through the area quickly and not wait around in Naples.

We ate one lunch and one dinner in hotel restaurant-excellent and not so. We had a wonderful view but probably would prefer third of fourth level. Nice pool. Location good, but everything is a walk down and then back up. Owner and all personnel were wonderful. Great service. Friendly atmosphere.

Our stay at Eden Roc was one of the best we have had at any hotel. The facilities were excellent and the staff helpful and friendly. The hotel is kept in impeccable condition and the staff always there with a smile - never with the feeling a tip was required. I cannot speak too highly of the hotel - it was great value. The restaurant was also friendly with excellent food.

Positano was a great destination and Eden Roc played no small part. The assortment and quality at breakfast was far better 99% of hotels. The staff was welcoming, helpful, warm and friendly. The rooms, the hotel, etc. were just like the pictures, and all immaculately clean and well maintained. The restaurant was excellent and the service therein, I think the best I've ever experienced. The view was spectacular - although this is true from almost any position in Positano. Finally, the pool was, characteristically, immaculate, and sparsely attended. We can't wait to go back!

I doubt there are descriptive words that adequately convey how pleasurable our stay and the service provided by the Eden Roc in Positano. Next time I would choose a room at a higher elevation. The noise and fumes from the street traffic was the only drawback to our location.
Thank you for a superlative visit. i highly recommend Eden Roc to prospective visitors to Positano.

This is an exceptional hotel in a magnificent setting. Positano is spectacular, and the Eden Roc is a perfect place to stay. The hotel is a beautiful older building, which has been completely updated and modernized inside. The rooms were beautiful and spacious, the bathrooms were huge, and the service by the hotel staff was simply the best. I loved it here...I would highly recommend the Eden Roc.

We booked three hotels with venere.com. This was by far the best one. All were 4-star but the other two in Rome and Florence were not so clean nor was the breakfast edible.
We really enjoyed our stay at Eden Roc. STaff is extremely accommodating and welcoming. It was a lovely time.

The balconies have an excellent view. Some balconies are better than others. You don't want to be where you can see or hear the street. However, because the hotel is removed a little from the center of Positano, I think you have a better view and still convenient to walk to the center of town or beach. Rooms are clean and bathrooms are very nice. Good hotel for the price.

This is very dificult to qualify bc the hotel was very good, a litle bit far from all the night and day action, but great. The personal was so profitional and friendly and do anything to please us. Positano isnt what we espected to be, the beach is only rocks, but the views were overwelming. Well this is a prespective from a Portuguese that is used to the beaches of Algarve and Azores.

This is a delightful hotel. Although it is on the main coast road there isn't any problem and no noise. No one should be put off by that. The service is great the staff are friendly and helpful, the surroundings are delighful and the views are stunning. We went there on our honeymoon and we would definately return there.

We were very disappointed with our stay at Eden Rock. We had booked 4 nights, but only stayed 2. The maid would hung already used towels that were on the floor (indicating that they needed to be changed). The beds were not changed everynight. Also there was an odor problem in the room, we told the front desk however they showed no sign of accomidation regarding the sewer smell in the room and hallway on the 2nd floor. Upon checkout the owner viciously denied the problem, and said to GET OUT. We were very disappointed with the behavior and friends who were commin later on in the month cancelled as well. Another thing, the towels at the pool were not uniform and were in terrible condition.

This hotel is not for those travellers wanting an anonymous corporate hotel, rather it is for travellers who enjoy personal service in a comfortable and relaxing environment.
The Eden Roc is on the main road into Positano which means there is a fair bit of traffic going past but there is no noise disturbance once you are in the hotel. Potential visitors should be aware that the location does mean a good walk up steep roads to the hotel from the main square in Positano. But this can add to the fun of the holiday when you find short cuts through little alleyways.
Eden Roc staff are second to none and as a seasoned traveller used to 4 & 5* accomodation I would rate the staff as some of the best I have come across. It is obvious they have been trained in their roles and they appear to take great pride in customer service. The cleanliness of the room and the hotel was also second to none.
If I had any complaints it is about the breakfast table - just a bit too much focus on "sweet" food. It did appear to me that the breakfast table was laid out with the previous evenings cakes and pastries - profiteroles for breakfast ? Cutting down on the continental sweet selection and increase fresh fruit or providing a selection of breakfast eggs would have for me made this hotel rate 10/10. But this is a minor point in an overall excellent establishment.

We thought the hotel was beautiful - run by wonderful employees who gave us very personal touches (nibbles with orders of wine in our room & talked to us about local customs and festivals) - but the price seemed expensive to us since though the room was very clean & spacious with a lovely view, it was a suite, but only had a wardrobe and a table and chair in the extra part of the room - no sofa or coffee table to relax on, which would have been nice since we had to read the papers on teh bed or balcony instead. Having said that, though the expense was high, we both thought we might stay there again.

We had a wonderful stay at Eden Roc during the first half of our honeymoon. We enjoyed our stay at Eden Roc tremendously. We had a car and they provided a parking garage which was not availalble at some of the other hotels. If you want a quiet hotel in a lovely little town then this is the place for you. It can be quite dark walking back up from the centre of town. A bit more lighting would have been nice.

Overall, the Eden Roc was the ideal place to stay for a romantic break. The only minus point was the traffic noise whilst on our balcony as it is situated on the main road through Positano. With the balcony doors closed it wasn't a problem.
Everything else about the hotel was first class - the friendly staff, room service, pool area, etc.
It's a hotel for the fairly fit as the walk up from the beach is rather hilly.
We would highly recommend this hotel if you're visiting Positano.

My husband and I largely enjoyed our stay at the Eden Roc. The room was great, the service impeccable, the food delicious and the owner/manager exceedingly genial. The chef obviously likes dolci and to be presented with about 12 different types of cakes for breakfast was a treat, although deadly for the waistline! The only downside during our stay was the deafening noise made as a result of drilling on the rockface just behind the hotel . It was obviously outside the control of the hotel, but it meant that we could not enjoy the balcony or stay in the room when the drilling was on. It would have been useful if the staff had informed the guests when the drilling was scheduled so we could have timed our stay in the room accordingly. It ruined what would otherwise have been a really enjoyable stay. On the assumption that the drilling was a one-off situation, we would return to the Eden Roc if we visit Positano again.

This was the most wonderful hotel stay I have ever had. It was at the higher end of the places we stayed, but worth every penny. We arrived early and were ushered into the lobby, our luggage and car were taken care of. They upgraded our room to a suite, the standard rooms were full. What a delight. The room was fabulous with a magnificant view of Positano. Every comfort was thought of. The room was immaculate and gorgeous. No matter how beautiful the hotel was, it was the staff that makes Eden Roc a very special place to stay. The staff was helpful, and very friendly. I was travelling with my elderly mother who uses a walker and they were there to assist us every time we needed it. We loved having lunch up on the terrace overlooking Positano. The dining room was also a good experience for us. I cannot say enough about our stay. I plan on returning with my husband. The walk into town takes about 20 minutes, but there is also a bus that stops directly in front of the hotel. The bar was a welcome spot for an afternoon cocktail after sunbathing or shopping. I will always remember Eden Roc

This was a beautiful hotel. The rooms were perfect, each with their own balcony with incredible views. The hotel staff was very acoomodating as well. We had to leave early one morning and would miss breakfast so they made up bagged lunches for us for our journey. It was also convenient to take a boat out to Capri from Positano. The only negative was the location. Driving on the Amalfi Coast was not enjoyable. It took us about 2 1/2 hours to get to the hotel from the start to the Almalfi Coast and this was to drive 36 KM. It isn't as bad if you drive very early in the morning. When we left early it only took 1 hour. I just want to warn people of this so they are prepared. Everything else about the hotel was perfect.

The hotel far exceeded our expectations. Convenient to the town center, it was easy to walk to attractions yet far enough, and high enough, to enjoy the view. Looking for a romantic stay in Positano then look no further. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, food very good indeed. Breakfast on the balcony every morning for a very small surcharge-a must!! The beaty of the hotel is enhanced by it's position a little way round the bay from the town so the view includes the sea, islands, 120 small boats moored in the bay and most of positano itself. It's easy to walk down to the town- a maze of lanes with shops. No need for a car just use the excellent ferry services which are cheap and efficient and on time! Amalfi is just 25 minutes away and Capri 20mins by fast ferry.
We can't wait until next year for a return visit

We booked a Junior Suite at the Eden Roc which was expensive (335 Euros/night) but beautiful. The room was clean, bright, big, had a balcony over the street with a view to the water. The bathroom was also beautiful with a jacuzzi tub, double sinked vanity and very big. As a price comparison, we did stay at Le Sirenuse for one night which was almost 100 Euros more and the room there was a fraction of the size of the Eden Roc. The entire hotel was very well-maintained, clean and bright. Pool area on the roof of the Eden Roc was also very nice. The continental breakfast at Eden Roc (included in the price) was excellent - big selection of cereals, pastries, yogurt and fruit. It can also be delivered to your room for a fee. Overall we were extremely pleased with our stay, would recommend it to friends and would return ourselves.

The hotel offers spectacular views of Positano and the sea. The rooms (we had a Junior Suite) are spacious but the furniture is spartanic. The service is good but should scale back their efforts to get you into the hotel-restaurant. As the Eden Roc is situated directly on the main road sleepin with open balcony door is a little noisy.

we stayed in eden roc the last two nights of our trip to the amalfi coast and were extremely disappointed. The room we were given had damp on the ceiling which looked like it was going to fall in and much of the paint work on the walls were crumbling. As we were paying so much for this room and it was meant to be a treat for us we complained to the hotel staff who were extremely rude and just told us that the people before us didn't complain so what was the problem! I was shocked at their response and both angry and upset that we had spent so much money on the last 2 nights at what we thought would be a special hotel. Throughout the rest of our holiday we had stayed at B&Bs for a third of the price and all of them were of better quality.
