I loved this hôtel. It was very well situated, modern, colorfull and the staff was very pleasant. It is near the archeological site and if I had a advice to give, it would be to try and stay at this hôtel for a few days, while you visit the surroundings (Vésuve, Pompei site, Herculanum site, Napoli, Sorrento, Capri). The hôtel is situated at a 30 seconds walk from the train station and it is very easy to reach all these cities and sites by train from there.

Hotel Diana Pompei was our favorite lodging experience during our 2 weeks in Europe. The staff was extremely friendly and very accommodating. They were most encouraging of my efforts to speak Italian and went out of their way to be sure that my family and I were comfortable. The room was decorated in an upbeat style, with a very tasteful use of bold colors. The continental breakfast was delicious, beginning with a cappuccino freshly made by the staff and brought to our table. We discovered that the hotel is family-owned and that several of the staff members are also family members. We got to meet Grandma, Dad, Daughter and Son, all delightful people! Although one day at the ruins was enough for me, I would have liked to have stayed longer just to enjoy the hotel. Oh, yes, there's also a beautiful yard/garden/patio with orange trees, tables, flowers and fresh fruit. As "icing on the cake" the Hotel Diana Pompei is located just 50 meters from the train station, on a small, side street.

We stayed one night here when we visited the ruins at Pompei. Great location! We walked to ruins and all over town. But it's on a tiny back street so very quiet. Hotel staff was the best! Super helpful. Spoke perfect English which sure helped me with my very limited Italian. Have free parking which you don't find too many places. We would definitely stay there again.

Booked this hotel after reading comments here - certainly lived up to the expectations.
Perfectly located for the Ruins and Railway station.
Rooms are bit small - but we didn't spend too much time there in any case.
The Garden is lovely - but what really makes this Hotel stand out is the friendliness of the staff !

My sisters and I loved Hotel Diana! The hotel is, literally, 150 steps from the train station. The building was recently renovated, the rooms were clean, and the staff very accomodating. The breakfast was well stocked and delicious. The desk clerk gave us a map of the city, along with directions to the Pompei archaelogical site. We easily walked to the archaelogical site in 10 minutes. The desk clerk also recommended a nearby family run restaurant for dinner. I can't remember the name, but it was delicious! We appreciated the large portions after walking through the ruins for the entire afternoon! This hotel's excellent location, accomodating staff, and cleanliness should put it at the top of everyone's list!

We were only in Pompei for one night but our stay in Hotel Diana was terrific. The hotel is very close to the train station and all parts of Pompei. The hotel interior and rooms are very modern and pleasant. The staff and managers were helpful and friendly. Wish we planned to stay longer!

Staffs of Hotel Diana show us great hospitality. I want to stay there again. The restaurant "Osteria da Peppino", which is recommended by a hotel staff, is also good and it has reasonable prices. The location is very near to the station of TRENITALIA, and easy to find it.

Nice little hotel! We got all assistance needed for our group: accomodation of seven bicycles was no problem at all. What we particularly liked was the quiet little orange garden in the backyard! Staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel only a ten minutes walk from one of the entries to the excavations. We would clearly reccomend this albergo!

The owners were friendly wonderful and helpful! They spoke English well and were knowledgable about the surrounding areas, taxi fares, when needed, and sites to see. The gates to Pompei were a 5-10 minute slow walk away. The town is beautiful! The hotel public areas and rooms were clean and very brightly painted. I loved this portion of our stay.

We were greeted by friendly and very helpful and knowledgeable staff. The location of the hotel in relation to the train station, shopping and attractions is excellent. We were very pleased with the accomodations. The grounds are quite lovely. Expecially the orange grove, from which we picked ripe oranges right off the tree and ate them on the patio. Very beautiful. If I ever decide to come back to Pompei, I will certainly stay at Hotel Diana Pompei. I highly recommend this facility to everyone.

The service personnel at this hotel were invariably cheerful, courteous and helpful. Great location -- less than 5 minutes walk from the main train station and a ten minute walk to the circumvesuviana. Although some train station neighborhoods can be a bit dodgy, this is not the case with the area around the Pompei train station. Very safe for a single woman. Easy walking distance to a very good variety of restaurants. And, of course, a 10 minute walk to the amphitheatre entrance to the ruins, or a 20 minute walk to the main entrance to the ruins. Excellent value for the money. One of the best hotels I've stayed at for cleanliness, courteousness and value. Good, but basic, breakfast -- coffe/tea, juice, yogurt, bread, pastry and cereals. I highly recommend this hotel. And the modern city of Pompei is an excellent base for touring not only the ruins of Pompeii but also Herculaneum, Oplonto, Sorrento and Naples -- all easily and cheaply accessible via train.

A very pleasant hotel with a charming, competent staff, and a lovely garden, although we didn't use it because it was cold and rainy. Our triple room was cramped, and when we asked for a larger room, they gave our daughter her own room at no extra cost (off season). Located just off a nice shopping street, five minutes from the main square and 30 minutes walk to the main entrance to the ruins. You can also catch a convenient bus at the square to take you to the ruins. Be aware that some construction work is going on next door.

It was a wonderful choice. We have three children and were also travelling with my aunt and uncle so we were six with a baby. We booked two triples and were there at the beginning of December. The family of the Diana hotel were so wonderful to us. Our baby got sick while we were there and they got a doctor to come see him and also brought us to a clinic and hospital to see a paediatrician. The mother helped us navigate the Italian medical system. They were so helpful and really made us feel at home and like family. We feel like we made wonderful new friends.
They also had wonderful orange and tangerine trees in the back that were ripe with fruit. They let us pick some and our kids really enjoyed the treat.

Great hotel for a few nights with very friendly and helpful service. Far enough away from the main tourist drag, but not too far from the ruins. Reliable organisation of taxis, and info on buses etc.

We throroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly but professional, the outdoor garden area was fantastic & encouraged guests to mix if they wanted but still allowed a private drink if preferred. Highly recommend.

The location is excellent for going to the ruins, only a 5 minute walk. The hotel is lovely, clean and the staff very welcoming with excellent English skills. Breakfast is simple but filling, don't be put off by their weak coffee, it is a normal black coffee. The hotel has a little bar which serves coffees and non/alcoholic drinks for very reasonable prices.
If going to the ruins get an audio guide from the tourist office before going in as there are none for hire once you have paid your entrance fee. Despite being a bit pricey it is worth it for the additional information, especially if it is raining and you don't want your guide book to get wet.
If we were to go back to Pompei we would certainly use this hotel again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a handy and relatively inexpensive place to stay.

Very friendly, very helpful advice, the room we had was not very large, but clean and adequate for the stay (4 days).
The hotel's location is handy for public transport.I cannot say there are great views as it is located in a heavily built up area, but Campania itself is a very densely packed region and I would prefer to stay here rather than in Naples for instance.
If you are going to Pompei or the Campania in general, this hotel has to be top of the list.

Hotel Diana - The Jewel of Pompei! From the moment my husband and I stepped inside we felt genuinely welcome. The front desk personnel, Sonya and Alexandro, were especially friendly and helpful in their dining recommendations. One of the best experiences in my travels across Italy!

Sehr freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal, geräumige liebenswert eingerichtete Zimmer.

We are a family of 6: 4 adults, 2 teens and two under 10s. We wanted a resonably priced but resonably comfortable hotel with breakfast included, for a brief visit to Pompei. Diana fitted the bill completely. Staff were excellent, incredibly helpful in all respects: they recommended an excellent restaurant within walking distance of the hotel and gave good advice as to what to visit and when to avoid the crowds and the heat. The double room was smallish and its en suite cozy to say the least, but the quad (double plus bunks) was an excellent size, as was its en suite. The rooms were spotless and the air conditioning wellcome

An excellent hotel, close enough to the town centre but far enough out to be quiet. Exemplary service. If you go to Pompeii, make sure you take the elevator to the top of the church bell tower. Magnificent view of the ruins and Vesuvio. Morning is best as the sun will be behind you

The Hotel said it was only 50 metres from the station and it was if you got on the correct (ie mainline) train line at Naples - but there are two stations in Pompeii. The other one (on the Circumvesuvio line) is over a kilometre away.
This was not (in retrospect!) a major drama - just tiresome for a family of five after a flight from London and the catching of one wrong train (there being two stations for Pomeii one for the town and one for the ruins). I must read the guide book more closely before starting out next time!
However, any discomfort was soon removed by the gracious and warm and friendly welcome we received from the manager on duty and the (very)clean and modern rooms to which we were shown (which had good airconditioning).
This is a hotel in a town so no views from rooms but there is a very nice garden with orange trees in which it was very enjoyable to relax, out of the tourist hustle and bustle, with a beer after a busy day.
All the staff were friendly and recommendations about nearby restaurants were accurate and helpful.
The ruins are within walking distance.
Breakfast is the usual Italian fare (but no meat/cheese) but made much better with a 'real' coffee (ie espresso, latte or cappuccino) which the staff were happy to make and did not cost much.
The hotel was an excellent base from which to explore the ruins and nearby attractions like Vesuvius and Paestum.
Highly recommended.
