We looked for a quiet place with a safe private carpark as starting point for visits of Pisa, Lucca and other places. It was a very good choice.

Welcome to Motel 6 with a bidet. It's clean, safe, close to the beach, and inexpensive for Italy. HOWEVER, the beds are hard as a rock, there's no atmosphere nor decorations in the rooms, and there are a lot of stairs to climb with heavy luggage.
Skip the breakfast and go for a cheaper coffee and pastry down the street.
As for the nearby beach, there are all these strange thick wires sticking up. Why would anyone want to hang out there? My advice is to take the time and spend the money and stay north in Cinque Terre.

The hotel is very quiet and has a convenient parking. As a stop for one night it is excellent. For longer stays I wouldn't know. The room we had was plain but large and comfortable.

Basic, good value for money, friendly management and remarkably quiet - away from the centre of this rather faded resort, but with some excellent restaurants in the middle of town. Tip - approach from Pisa rather than Livorno - when faced with options from Fi-Pi-Li.

It is a very simple but clean accomodation with large rooms, even though the architecture is old and should probably need refurbishing. Perfect for a one night stay, I would never spend a whole holiday there
