Fantastic atmosphere, very peaceful (apart from the bells!). Rooms immaculate, nice breakfast. Could n't fault it.
Only disadvantage a good walk from both the station and the Pisa attractions.
Also take some mosquito repellent!

Charming hotel, ca. 10 mins to walk to the city center, 15-20 mins to train station. Taxi to/from airport 8-12€.
Due to monument preservation rooms aren´t changed much compared to their former state, so no carpets, extensive insulation, rooms are therefore quite noisy - neighbors can be heard as well as anyone walking in the corridor. So don´t forget earplugs!
Would overnight there again.

Property was quaint and comfortable. Only knock is that it is not convenient to public transport, sites, or transportation. However, the neighborhood is safe and quiet, and the walk to Piazza di Miracoli is only about 20 minutes. Comfort of accomodations was good and everything worked.

Although very close to the river, the hotel is on a side street that wasn't very busy. The uniqueness of staying in a former convent was a plus. Although rooms were small and plain, it was more than adequate. The cloister was beautiful. Parking in their gated lot was very safe.

Taxi from the airport much too expensive (20 euros. In daytime you can walk the distance in 20 minutes, but we arrived at midnight, so we had asked the hotel to provide a taxa for us. Small doubleroom, but a very nice place to stay. Breakfast superb!

Wonderful 'find' in a quiet corner of Pisa, only a short walk to town centre or Train station, though public bus is also pretty frequent. Great plavce in old monastery/hospital.
Pretty good brekkie too.

Our stay made a nice change form the regular hotels we'd been using. Very atmospheric and good quality breakfast in the sunny courtyard area, and free parking made the higher price (than we had been paying) worthwhile. Rooms were super clean and comfortable, though the bathrooms were a bit tiny. Wish we'd had a reason to stay loger. Excellent for groups and seems a good venue for business use too. Would be a good base for trips from Pisa to magical Lucca and the surrounding area.

A delicious oasis in quiet surroundings yet very close to attractions and citylife. The most friendly and serviceminded staff and a wellstructured cleaning department. The "cells" provide quietness for eyes and mind and the beds have the exact kind of base to provide a good nights sleep. We will defenitely be coming back.

Our room was in one of the oldest part of the building. It was clean but small and by modern day standards 'dark'. However it was full of character, very quiet and the bed comfortable. It will help if you can (forgive me) enter into the 'spirit' of things. A late night drink over looking the central square and breakfast in same the location are memorable. It is also within walking distance of the railway station and the city centre and an easy taxi ride from the airport.b There isn't a host of places to visit/eat & drink in the immediate vicinity but for a short stay - its different!

The room is a bit noisy as I can hear people walking and dragging luggages at midnight. In terms of location, feel it's a bit far from the city center, esp. when it's not easy to get a taxi from the street at evening time.
But the receptionists and service people there are friendly and helpful.

I arrived late at night, but I was still a little surprised that I had to lug my heavy bags across the courtyard and find my room myself in the dark.
My twin bedroom was spacious and clean but shabby and in need of redecoration. Whereas I accept that the building is a converted convent, the decor is particularly spartan for the price in my opinion. My room was located on the ground floor in an annex to the rear of the main courtyard - maybe the rooms overlooking the courtyard are nicer - I don't know.
The courtyard is absolutely beautiful - and is the most striking aspect of the hotel. It was delightful to sit under the cloister for breakfast. Breakfast was fine, without being spectacular.
If I were to stay there again, I would be more choosy about the room. My preference would be to stay in the Hotel Victoria on the banks of the Arno.

We only stayed in Pisa for a night but it is a pretty city in the evening. The hotel is a nice 20 mins walking distance from the leaning tower of Pisa. The canal is 5mins away for a nice stroll. The restaurant at the hotel had a reasonable selection on their menu. The cappuccino was amazing there. I would return for another stay. If you are walking from the train station, it will take about 20 mins. It's a perfect place if you want a quiet place to stay that has a historic background.

Ten minute walk from the centre of Pisa, so close to cafes and shops and just a few minutes fron the river.Ample car park availalable, hotel is in a quiet part of town. The room wasn't ready when we arrived but we were able to leave our bags and go out for lunch.Rooms are converted from monks cloisters and as such are a little austere, no rugs/carpets and bare stone floors but nevertheless comfortable. Very helpfull and friendly staff. Breakfast can be taken outdoors around the cloisters. Very quiet location.Would use again. Only 5 minute drive from railstation and airport.

Advantages: Quietness, cleanliness, and employees on the bar are very kindly.
Drawbacks: It hasn't got swimming pool, and there is no WiFi area. It needs some additional features to become a really good hotel. Rooms are quite expensive.

We arrived at the hotel after a 12 hour journey. The reception we received was helpful and pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic; our first taste of the wonderful Italian coffee, fresh breads, fruit, juices, cheese, and all you could eat! The hotel was away from the hustle of the major tourist sites but only a 15 minute walk to the Leaning Tower.

Everthing was very well, except the type of the room. I ordered a 4 persons room, it turned out to be a 3 persons room, with an extra rickety bed. Also everything on the bill indicated it was a 3 persons room.

This place has a very peaceful atmosphere. 13th century convent converted into a comfortable hotel. I would have liked it to be a bit closer to the main sights, but apart from that, it was a very nice place to stay.

Although not on a main route, the Hotel Santa Croce offered good value and service. The staff were very welcoming, and courteous. The main attractions of Pisa were within walking distance, and it was enjoyable stay.
Pisa is a lovely city, and we will be back.

We stayed in St. Croce for a longterm Weekend and enjoyed it very much. The hotel is absolutely reproachless and the relationship between price and quality is nearly great. The rooms are quiet and clean, with exception some single rooms in front near the street. The cleaning personal does their work unnoticed and thorough.
About the breakfast there is nothing more to say !!
The Taxi from the airport to the hotel costs € 6.00.
To reach the old center of Pisa you just have to walk no more than 10 minutes, but overall you can take the bus to reach the station or the busstation. From there you can take the bus No.2 to Marina de Pisa and direction Livorno. It costs € 1.70 to Marina.Between Marin and Tirrena ask for the Raggae Bar.
Dont't miss to visit the little Pizzeria nearby.Leaving the hotel you've to turn right and right again. At the corner between Via Silvio Luschi an Via San Michele Degli Scalzi you will find it. Only 2 desks inside and 3 outside, but the best pizza in Pisa, also for takeaway.
The result of all is that we must have to visit this nice hotel and locations. (Forgot the leaning tower!)

This is probably one of the most unusual B&Bs - the photos tell more. We loved it because of exactly that. The location a few minutes walk outside the town wall is no problem if you don't mind walking a bit. Breakfast may not be everyone's cup of tea (lots of pre-packaged cakes in addition to toast), but we loved eating it in the back garden. So if you're after something a bit different this is the place to be.

Some pro's some con's
The pro's; very nice building with real atmosphere, refreshing after too many standard rooms and standard hotels, friendly staff, good bathroom.
The con's; rather small room, on inside court should have been quiet, but for a rockconcert in the neigborhood, lasting till well after 2:00 in the morning, sleep was interrupted by numerous mosquitos, so bring a repellent, late arrivals kept us awake to 03:30 by a lengthy and very loud conversation in the inside court (where are the times that you could throw the contents of your chamber pot at them?) Airco did not work.
Overall, a very recommendable place, fun to stay, we would certainly go again.

Very nice hotel. We were 5 people (whole family) so we needed 2 rooms. Best price/quality ratio for our whole Italy trip. I'd definitly stay in this hotel again if back in Pisa.
BTW, very nice restaurant nearby, the Bela Napoli.

The hotel looked exactly like the pictures. It was a very peaceful place. The breakfast is simple but very filling and you get to sit in the courtyard to eat which is great. Contrary to some other reviews the staff were very helpful, happy to give out maps and recommend places for dinner and aperitivos along the Arno. Hotel easy to find and only about a 10 minute walk from 'down town' and the train station. (Pisa is not that big) The hotel is not on a main road but if your room faces the road you do hear some noise from the Vespa scooters that zip past. Italy is full of scooters there is no escaping them....
