parking was a couple of hundred metres away in a public underground carpark, the room was not that clean, however the staff were fantastic and this made up for any shortcomings, the beds were clean and comfortable.would recommend

Faded grandeur. No air conditionng a minor drawback.Very spacious room and enormous bathroom. Reception staff excellent and friendly. Breakfast parsimonious, best to eat in nearby cafes.

Very old hotel. Rooms are spacious enough but they needed refurbishing urgently. Bathroom were not very clean. Staff was friendly but we will not repeat the stay. Too expensive for what we had.

Great location, very friendly and helpfull staff, spacious room and very comfortable bed, unlike most hotels in France. The only thing we did not like was the bathroom. It needs a lot of improvement. Other than that we were very happy with our stay. Rosy and Matthew (honeymooners from Florida)

The Hotel De France is in the heart of the main old town.Easy to find. A perfect base to explore this lovely city from. Lots of places to eat within 5 minutes of the hotel. Very freindly and helpfull on reception. We stayed for 5 days and recommend this hotel, to all ages. Plenty to see within easy walking distance to the hotel.Thanks you for alovely stay.

El aire acondicionado no existe en el hotel, no habia cortinas en las ventanas y en general un hotel muy antiguo y nada reformado. El ascensor da un poco de miedo, dado que es de madera y con muchos ruidos cuando subes en el. Cierran las puertas a la 1 A.M., con lo que te limita el poder salir de noche.

El hotel De France en Perpignan esta muy centrico y la zona es preciosa y tranquila. Por lo que puedes pasear por el casco antiguo a un paso del hotel. La habitación era bastante amplia y limpia. Destacar que el servicio de limpieza es un poco indiscreto y entraron cuando aun dormiamos sin llamar a la puerta. Las atenciones del personal bastante bien. Volveriamos de nuevo nos gusto mucho la zona. Y el hotel para el precio esta bien.

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights in July 2006, we had caught an early flight so arrived at the hotel at 10:30 am. As expected, the room was not ready but we were made very welcome. We were offered the use of the bathroom and given maps and flyers of places of interest. The rooms were in need of some investment, carpets and furnishings were old but the bed was comfy and considering the location of the hotel we thought it was very good value for money. The hotel staff were very helpful and organised taxis from companies who didn't rip us off. I would definately recommend this to anyone looking for budget accommodation in Perpignan. You'll need all your money for food and drink!

This is a great budget hotel.During our stay(3 days) the staff were very friendly and welcoming.The rooms were basic and the furniture was old, breakfast not included, but you get what you pay for.We paid around 50 euro/night which was reasonable, especially as it is the centre of town.It is right beside the famous 'Castillet'.Its a good place to stay if you are just looking to rest your head at night and not looking for the extra trimmings i.e. satellite t.v., minibar, and fancy room.I would recommend this hotel, and would stay there again.

Friendly staff and welcoming accomodations in a very charming small city. A good place to start a Pyrenees Mountains and surrounding regions holiday. The location of De France is close to many shops, coffee shop drinking spots and local restaurants. Unfortunately, we could not explore the beautiful older town near the hotel due to a recent uprising/riot in late May. The continential breakfast was good, but not abundant. Overall, we would most certainly stay here again.

The hotel is superbly located right on the edge of the old town. It overlooks the attractively landscaped and canalised river Basse and is well served by buses. It is also convenient for the airport but rather distant from the railway station. However, the hotel's centrality does mean that the surrounding area is very busy and traffic noise is a real nuisance for rooms facing the street. The secondary glazing in each room reduces but does not solve the problem. The hotel itself is in an impressive building and the rooms are generally of a reasonable size. The decor is rather tired and really needs some attention but overall the hotel provides a comfortable enough base.

Central location means places easy to walk to but traffic noise is considerable (double glazing does mitigate). Curtains didn't close fully in our room. Staff very helpful. No bar/restaurant on site. A good value place for a one or two night stay.

Excellent location for the old quarter and all the interesting parts of town.Situated on a busy road but right next to the river with pleasant walk and lots of cafes/bars.Parking would be a bit awkward (we were on bus/train). Reception staff extremely helpful and welcoming.

It's a pretty smelly and dusty hotel, definitely not suitable for asthmatics. The bed was a slab of hard foam and the en suite toilet had no door, so woe to your partner if nature called! Also, the staff had only just enough English to understand what we were saying. On the plus side, the location was great and it was quite cheap.

The hotel is situated right in the centre of the old town, the staff are friendly and helpful. It´s a bit noisy when the window is open at night (and it has to be in the summer), but all in all a nice hotel with good value for money!
