Excellent location. Very charming and helpful staff members. Tiny rooms, not recommended for honeymooners. Unfortunately there was a bit of a cramped feeling with noise from outside corridors/ other bathrooms clearly audible. Standard rooms did not contain safe. Pick this hotel for its excellent location and staff, but not for a truly relaxing holiday.
United Kingdom, Aug 2008
Staff were really welcoming and allowed us to speak French if we wanted to and they spoke English when we needed it. Travel on the Metro and go visit the Grande Arche at la Defense - immense!
Canada, Jul 2008
Awesome location! Right at a Metro stop, and very near Eiffel Tower (7 minute walk). Friendly welcome from Mo, and he was so knowledgable and willing to help, it made us feel very at home. Small rooms, yes, but clean and near a lovely street, Rue Cler, with wonderful bakery with fresh, inexpensive quiches, and many restaurants. Highly recommended!

The was a typical "Parisian" hotel - nothing totally modern yet clean, fresh and loaded with charm. Rooms are small but that was expected and they were remarkably clean. Bathrooms take a bit of getting used to (especially the showers) but this added to the charm. The location was better than perfect - just several blocks to the Eiffel Tower, directly next to Rue Cler (a wonderful pedestrian street with cafes, bakeries, shops, etc) and close to several Open Bus tour stops. The area was very quiet at night yet bustling during the day. Mo and Sandra at reception are absolutely delightful and always most helpful. We stayed in two rooms - my daughter and I in a double and my mom in a single. We were very comfortable here and felt very safe as we were three women traveling alone. I highly recommend this wonderful hotel and will definitely stay there again when I make it back to Paris!

Hotel is in a good location near Rue De Cler which is great for casual dining at reasonable prices. Hotel is also walking distance to Eiffel Tower and metro station. Comfortable rooms with really welcoming, helpful, English speaking staff. Highly recommended.

Friendliness of staff and location made up for the tiny rooms.

This hotel has a great location. It is just a few minutes from the Eiffel Tower. Also it's just steps from the Metro stop Ecole Militaire. The hotel itself is a good bargain for Paris. The rooms and bathrooms are small, but they are clean and well-decorated. It is definitely an adequate hotel and you can't expect much more for the price in Paris.

We only stayed one night at a very nice decorated double superior room w/ LCD TV.Room was small which is very common in Paris hotels.Very nice and newly decorated.Beautiful bathroom. But no view at all.In Paris you don't need to spend much time in the hotel room.We were in the room just to sleep. The reception people Mo and Sandra were the most friendly people we've ever met. Thanks for everything. The hotel is on the corner of a main street and a side street where you can find some cafe to have breakfast. And the hotel is only 10 min walk to the Eiffel Tower.Metro system is great in Paris. You can go everywhere easily.

Staff was very welcoming and all speak good English. The Internet connection is excellent and FREE! The hotel is just a short walk away from the Eifell Tower, and is next to small street where you can find excellent restaurants, bread and pastry shops as well as some shopping. Great, safe area, definitely reccomend the Hotel and will stay there again.

My husband and I stayed in a standard double room and my sister and brother-in-law also stayed in a double standard room but on a diffferent floor. We stayed one night only. Great welcome from the lady on reception who spoke English and helped us with all our variouus travel questions. Rooms were small but perfectly fine for our needs and charming in decor. Both rooms had a flat screen tv and tea and coffee making facilities. Bathroom was bigger than I epxected given some of the reviews I had read on the site. our rooms were near the lift but we were not disturbed by any noise. We did not have breakfast in the hotel as there are so many cafes close by its nice to get out and walk around. Would definietly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a good small hotel in Paris at a reasonable price.

What a gorgeous hotel! Yes rooms are tiny but spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The girl at reception was so friendly, so helpful, it really made a difference to our stay. We had a wonderful experience and will definately go back. Superb location - right by the metro station. We even had a little view of the very top of the Eiffel Tower from our room! We came back to the hotel very late all 3 nights, (4am on the saturday!!) and had no problems at all with the night staff. Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday!

We loved this little hotel. Upon arrival our room was not quite ready so they gave us complimentary coffe and orange juice while we waited. The man at reception desk, Mo, was very helpful. He always had a smile for us and always showed us how to get to the places we were searching for. It wasn't until our last evening that I found out from him that there was a market down the street our hotel is on! That street has good restaurants and during market days it is beautufil with fruits and breads and cheeses, chickens roasting in rotesseries over potatoes. I get excited about the food. He did everything for us and helped us get a van to the airport. I would definately stay there again!

The staff of Hotel Motte Picquet were very helpful especially in navigating around Paris. The rooms were comfortable but small and had a very Parisian feel. The shower in our bathroom wasn't very good because water got everywhere and it flooded the bathroom and there was no drain for it to escape. The location was good, it was a couple minutes walk to metro underground and restaurants, shops and cafes were just around the corner. The Eiffel Tower was only a 15 minute walk away. Teenage children liked the fact the internet was free.

Die Sanitäreinrichtungen im Zimmer waren nur durch eine Platik-Faltwand abgetrennt. Das WC konnte wegen der Enge nur bei geöffneter Faltwand benutzt werden: Eine Zumutung!

Nice simple hotel in a fantastic location (10 min walk from the Eiffel Tower, 3 mins from metro station Ecole Militaire or something like that). A very nice end of Paris but a very expensive area as well. The hotel did exactly what we required, very reasonable price, great location, clean and warm. There were some road works outside our side of the hotel when we stayed so it was quite noisy on one morning only, otherwise, perfect. I would stay there again. NB room sizes are OK, not massive but this was Paris!

This was our first time in Paris, and we really loved it! We are certain that there will be a second time for us! As for the hotel 'La Motte Picquet' we loved it too! It is a small cute hotel, perfect for young couples who want to enjoy their stay in Paris. The rooms are small, but tasty, with a detailed decoration touch, the staff is very kind and welcoming, and the metro station is 15 m. away! The neighbourhood is quite safe and Aifel Tower is 15 min. walking away! We definitely recommend it!

This was our first visit to Paris and it was such a wonderful experience that we can't wait to go back. Next time we would stay in an apartment or something similiar to really enjoy the life of Paris. The hotel was very welcoming and helped to make our first stay very enjoyable. Staff were great and the hotel was in a very central spot,in a great neighbourhood for food shopping etc - easy for public transport and within a good walking distance to a lot of places. It was noisy and the room was quite small and cosy. The small shower was a bit of a problem, but after the first day we coped quite well.

The Hotel Motte Picquet was excellent value for money and soo close to the Eiffel tower. The room we stayed in was tastefully decorated, it was small but very clean. There were two receptionists which we dealt with during our stay, and both were extremely helpful, fluent in english, and gave excellent advice on where to go and how best to get there. I would definitely book Hotel Motte Picquet the next time I'm in Paris!!!

la camera double superior è molto meglio rispetto alla semplice twin che è veramente piccola con il bagno (piccolissimo) separato dal resto della camera da un soffietto, mentre la double superior è più grande e con un bagno adeguato. Hotel molto pulito,in 1 ottima zona e servizio eccellente.

Excellant location. I was afraid that it would be noisy at night and did not run into that problem. The rooms are very tiny but well worth the close proximity to the sights. Don't pay the 10 euros for breakfast, there are so many cafes close by for cheaper!

It is a beautiful hotel: all very nice! Undergroud stop is "Ecole Militare" (I've to walk for 20 minutes from La Motte Piquet underground stop). Very near to all monuments and museum, free wireless connectivity! Continental breakfast 10 euro. Next time in Paris I'll be at Motte Piquet Hotel ;)

Although the rooms were quite small, typical of Paris hotels, they were charming and comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a particularly lovely area.

The superior double room was small but adequate since we didn't spend much time in the room. Room had a fridge, but no coffee maker/tea kettle - which would have been nice. Location is great - metro is less that a block away and lots of cafes and small markets nearby. Staff was OK, not the friendliest.

you might think this was an excellent location: right beside the Eiffel Tower, however how much time will you be spending there? It is quite the trek to any of the other sights, but at least you are in the center of Paris. There are a few restaurants around, but not as many as I thought there would be. Rooms were small, as expected, but charming enough. Our major complaint was that their desk staff locked the front door before 2130 and then took a break, leaving us outside for 45 min waiting to get in. Wouldn't answer the doorbell. We assumed they were watching tele and didn't hear. Then they had the nerve to lecture us on the proper operation of the doorbell to save face, instead of apoligizing. very poor customer treatment (for the night staff at least, the day staff were perfectly accomodating).

The Staff would add to any establishment-outstanding personel--Even the housekeeping staff friendly responsive etc. This hotel is on a main boulevard and I am light sleeper but the boulevard was quiet at night and how could you be better located than at the end of Rue Clair--I wish I was French

We had a very satisfying stay. All was as expected. We especially enjoyed the immediate area. The only shortcomings we experienced were a relatively small (but adequate) room and distance from points of interest (although metro was close). A pleasant place to stay and a good value.

The service was very good and the room was clean and comfortable (although not very spacious). It was about ten minutes walk to the eiffel tower and the metro station was just next to the hotel so the location was good. Breakfast was served in the rooms and was 10 euros so we didn't bother. It was ok for the price.

The first night I had an awful room facing the Avenue. It was noisy and small and the bathroom was in a type of expanded walk-in closet. After asking to be changed the following night, my room was much nicer. Staff was always polite and welcoming.
