Location is great for exploring St Germain. Metro is 5 minute walk away and easy to get to all parts of the city from here. Room size however was very small, difficult to fit 2 medium sized suitcases into. However the shower and bathroom were bigger than other hotels stayed in in France and UK. If you are only using the room to sleep in then I'd recommend it as it is difficult to find a good hotel in this area for this price. If you are a light sleeper, perhaps avoid it as you can hear the metro trains running underground from the rooms. Didn't have the breakfast included so cannot comment on it.

The Hotel has an excellent location within walking distance to the Seine, the Louvre, Notre Dame, and many other beautiful places. We stayed for 5 nights and were very happy with our choice of Hotel. Really any location in the 5th, 6th, or 7th would be great choices.

Very well situated on Rue du Four in the Latin Quarter. Most of the staff was great with directions and knowledgeable. All communicated effectively in English for us mono-glots. ;)

Very clean rooms and perfect location. Although i think i heard subway tremble early in the morning, I'd rate the hotel pretty good for money.

When I read the reviews saying that you could hear the metro passing by I thought that people were exagerating. But it's true! You can actually hear it!!! Nothing you can't solve with the appropriate earplugs.... The location is unbeatable. Rooms are very clean and the bathroom is as good as you may wish. Good shower and hairdryer. I would stay here again.

My single room was very small and the shower facility plus toilet was wardrobe size.I could hardly fit in. The space for breakfast was also very limited.Room was clean.I'd like to have seen a common room for guests.Service was pleasant and employees were helpful.Location was excellent.

Excellent location and very helpful, efficient, and competent staff, some of whom spoke English. Our room (on 5th floor) was VERY small, and our view was of the AC unit. Also, our room had obviously been used by smokers. We were also bothered by the constant noise of the Metro.

It's a great place to stay. My room was very clean, and staff were all competent and helpful. And the location of the hotel is great. Yes, the room, especially the bathroom, is quite small, but this is Paris where space is precious.

Typical Parisian hotel: expensive, small, poor customer service, and noisy. Could hear and feel the metro pass under the hotel. At least I hope it was the metro.

I was travelling alone, a good stay overall. The room was absolutely clean, although my window didn't have a view on the street and I could only get artificial light 24h a day...not a big deal, but maybe someone cares about it more than I do.

THe staff is marvelous, very helpful and competent. They also speak several languages. The location is ideal. It is easy to get anywhere in Paris walking or by metro. The only negative was my room which was miniscule and although cleaned well daily the carpeting smelled moldy. Nevertheless, I would recommend it as a "budget hotel" in St. Germain.

A small boutique hotel in Paris in an elegant neighborhood - close to Metro and the action on the blvd. Saint Michel. Reasonabley priced (off season, anyway) and well-kept. The staff very accomodating. And one is able to use the internet (if one does not mind standing at the counter). A pretty breakfast area, but be sure to ask for breakfast included in the rate unless you prefer to forage in the neighborhood where cafes abound.

The people at the front desk were very helpful. The room was very small and thank god, the huge french windows opened or the heat (in October) would have been stifling. The 24 hour noise in the street below was initially rather exciting and then was just a pain, especially on Saturday night from the brasserie one-half block down the street, which filled our petit chambre with loud music until 2AM--thank god for the fan in our room, which helped to quell some of the racket. We always felt very safe, and the staff were very responsive to our requests, but we would choose a quieter part of Paris for our next stay.

HDSG is a great value in a great location. If your destinations in Paris are anywhere near the Latin Quarter, HDSG is positioned in an ideal spot, minutes by foot or Metro from just about everything. Highly recommend.

Was brillant to have such friendly and lovely hotel room. Thank you very much Hotel st Germain. The metro gives a little reminder that its there as it does in any parisian suburb but that is far out weighed by the most welcoming and helpful and lovely people that run the hotel and that i met there too. i dotn give reviews much but they deserve a great one. : )

This was the first time I had been to Paris and the staff at the Saint Germain really added positively to the experience. I found them very helpful and ready for a chat in the evenings. As the size of the rooms in paris goes it is normal however in comparison to the price 92 euro for a double room per night, i believe it offers good value for money. I would certainly recommend De Saint Germain to stay in.

The location of this hotel is great and convenient, close walking distance to the metro, restaurants, markets, and big shopping area. The room is fairly small but cozy. If you are a light sleeper, it's noisy at night with sounds of cars and trucks driving by. Better to stay somewhere away from the main roads.

Bathroom was great. Very clean and modern. Beds were firm. Pillows a little sad. Room size was minimal but we did have worse in London. No air-conditioning was a handicap. Fan was provided to compensate. Customer service was superior. Mandra was an absolute gentleman always willing to help. Location was superior. Easy walk to restaurants, Metro, shops, etc. This hotel is not cheap relative to quality of stay but perhaps it is reflective of Paris hotels in general. Would we stay here again? I'll answer in this way. This is our 2nd European trip and we found that judicious shopping can yield some great 4 star hotels for a very moderate price increase of only zero to $30.00 per night. If none of these deals are available I would stay at the St. Germain again.

The hotel is in a great location in a nice neighborhood that always felt safe. You are within walking distance to many things and there are metro stops everywhere. The room is rather small, but that doesn't matter because there is so much to see. The bathroom was very nice and was clearly recently redone. The staff was very helpful and kind to us. We definitely enjoyed our stay and would go back again!

You can not beat the location. I know that small is the norm in Europe. But, the room was small, beyond that. So much that I moved out after four days, even though I stayed in Paris a whole lot longer. But to be fair, I never got even close to matching the LOCATION.

The hotel was spotless, the staff very friendly, and the location excellent. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from a choice of two metro stations which will take you all over Paris for sightseeing (the Metro is Paris is fantastic). In the evening, you can return to the hotel to freshen up and stroll to many of the restaurants / bars etc in the surrounding area. The hotel is small and the room was very small but was more than adequate especially for a weekend stay. I would definitely stay in the same place upon my return to Paris.

The location of the hotel made up for paper thin walls, (through which we could hear our neighbours nightly activites!)and a tiny room with a small double bed, no tea of coffee facilities; but a new excellent bathroom with a great shower, and heated towel rail etc. Staff were very nice, especially the younger ones, I would probably stay they again (sans ear plugs!)

Tornerei

Although "cozy" by American standards, our hotel room/bathroom was neat and clean, and the hotel staff was nothing but friendly and helpful. The hotel is within walking distance of Notre Dame, St. Michel, the Louvre, and Ligne 4 of the subway system which will take you almost anywhere in the city, should you have a map of the subway system handy. We loved our stay in Paris, and would highly recommend this hotel.

The location of this property is great in the heart of St Germain de Pres. The hotel staff were exceedingly professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful.
