The hotel is as such quite ok for parisian standards - which are very low in general. However it's certainly not worth its price, actually they let you pay being close to posh areas like Place Vendome. Which is fine, as very central, but the hotel itself is certainly far from posh. The room was not very clean, though the most important thing for us - the bed - was spotless. The room's size also was very comfortable, the breakfast totally ok and the staff was very polite, even friendly. Still, for this category you can easily pay much less, therefore I'll not return to Du Continent.

The room is so small there is no space to put two suitcases. The mattress was old worn and uneven. The bathroom shower fixture separated from the wall.Bathroom door frame was molded from the water damage. Wall inside the room had black mold which was pained over. Rooms very acoustic ! One night dog was barking all night next door .

The location is very central (and not a busy street) although it is in a very upscale area so you do have to walk a bit to get to more affordable restaurants. We got the front 2nd flr room which has the most street noise (the double glass windows screen out some noise so it was not bad) but other rooms would be better. If you want to be near the high fashion shopping this is a good location otherwise there are many hotels in other central locations which are just as good (or better) for less $. Our stay was fine, just pricey for what you get.

Great location, small rooms but that seems the norm in Paris. Clean and quiet hotel all in all good pick. Close to subway and walking distance from Louvre, Opera etc. Great little restaurant next door, doesn't look like much but amazing food. Name is L'ardoise and I highly recommend a visit. Good restaurants up towards opera as well.

Very convenient location, everything is in a walking distance. The personal was very friendly. The Standard double room was very small but Superior double was good enough.Clean. Unfortunately they do not have cofee/teamaker in the rooms, but there are a lot of small restaurants around that serve very good cofee. We had good time in Paris and will stay next time also at this place.

I would recommend this hotel for a stay in Paris. It was a bit expensive but it's location, only a short walk from the Louvre, was brilliant. It's located just off Rue St Honore, which has all the most exclusive fashion stores (Armani, Gucci etc), and is close to bars, cafe's etc. Rooms are small (but very clean) but that is usual for Paris. This was our 2nd time staying in Paris. It is a lovely walk along the river Seine to the Eiffel Tower. The street where the hotel is located is a small, quiet side st. Mini-bar in the room, but no tea making facilities. Try Il Lotti (i think that's the spelling), a lovely restaurant located nearby and also "Carrs", an irish bar just up the street.

this hotel is worth for its position and the kindness of the employees. It's not particularly clean and the room are very small but it's a general problem in France.Breakfast is not included and very expensive for what you get, it costs 12.50 per person. At the same price you can have a nice french breakfast in many cafes of the city.

The staff here were all friendly, competant and very willing to help. The room was adequate and clean but nothing special. The price does however reflect the location witch was excellent. (Although now I know Paris to be very easy to get around the location wouldn't be so important next visit)

It's interesting to note that only one thing can change what was initially an okay hotel experience to a terrible one. One evening, I noted that an article of clothing had been taken from my suitcase. My sister and I had both commented on it that morning though it had not been removed from the suitcase. When I brought this up to the day manager at check out she stated that I was mistaken. A member of the hotel staff stole something from me and there was no concern, no responsibility and not even an "I'm sorry". Not only is this a bad reflection on the hotel, but unfortunately also on Venere. I love your website and use it every time I travel abroad. I will not be putting my name on this for publication, as I'm not comfortable with the hotel's ire. Please be sure to question the hotel on this prior to recommending to others.

Excellent location. Deluxe double was small but adequate. Probably not much different than the regular double except that you are on the street side rather than the courtyard side. Good value for the location which is fantastic. 1 1/2 blocks from Tuillerie subway station, very near the Ritz at the Place Vendome. Would not recommend trying to stay in this room with more than one small child.

The hotel was centrally located (i.e. close to Louvre and reasonably close to the metro) as was claimed on the website. The rooms were incredibly small and the hotel was noisy. Staff kept your key when you left, which I did not appreciate, as they did not ask for any ID on return, even if the staff on desk had not seen you before. The hotel appeared to cater mainly to business travellers, mostly men, and I would not recommend it for a single traveller, especially a female student, such as myself. The staff did arrange for a wakeup call and a shuttle to the airport, but I had to ask several times before the reservations were made - some staff is more competent than others.

My girlfriend and I spent a lovely weekend in Paris at the beginning of June. We arrived late evening at the hotel "Du Continent" but were really warmly greeted by the man working on the desk, who must be one of the friendliest people I have ever met in Paris :)
My experience with lower priced Parisian hotels is that they aren't always that great. The hotel was everything I could ask for, great location, nice rooms, lovely people on the reception. In an ideal world I would prefer to pay nearer to 100 Euros for this sort of room (and would have liked the breakfast to be included), but I don't think you get much in Paris for this and hotel Du Continent fully justified the extra expense! I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone looking for a nice hotel in central Paris!

Room at the first floor very very little with the view on a wall, when we had to leave we asked the EVENING BEFORE to have two taxi for the airport at disposal for 8.30 in the morning, they called to reserve them only in the morning at 7.30,they didn't found them(obviously,it's Paris!!)but they didn't communicate it to us!!They told it only when we asked where our taxis were!!Absolutely incompetent. The breakfast was little,if you wanted more you had to pay.The sorrounding is magic, only two step to Place de la Concorde, two minuts to Louvre and Place de Voges. The position and the cleanliness were the only thing really positive,my mother didn't found her sunglasses box nomore and the last time she saw them they were in the room...I don't think we will come back there..

It's a clean hotel, a little too small to my taste, specially the bathroom. Very well located, though, three blocks from Place de Concorde and very near a metro station, it really gives it a plus.

Hotel du cotinent is in a fantastic location, just off rue de rivoli which runs along the jardin des tuileries right up to musee du louvre and on the other side place de la concorde!! fantastic!!we were right in the middle of everything..and also had two metro stops at our doorstep. The hotel was well decorated and very clean. The bathroom was very nice too. Unfortunately our TV wasn`t working at the time but we didn`t mind. I would highly recommend this hotel for a couple heading off for the weekend and want to be within walking distance of most the sights. The area itself was also a bit pricey but found a lovely Irish pub Carrs just down the street from the hotel that served lovely food and compared to the other bar/cafes we`d been in the drink was very reasonable..of course the hotel staff would recommend a place for you they were very frinedly and spoke english..all in all a fantastic trip away!
