Reception staff was very helpful and provided great service. The roof-top restaurant is gorgeous and its staff is outstanding. We were given a bright, spacious room with a modern, well appointed washroom. The only drawback was breakfast in the dark, windowless dining room on ground level. Although the room was almost empty, we were seated in a tight corner facing the wall. The staff in the breakfast room appeared to be in a bad mood and we seemed to be disturbing them. The breakfast offering was ordinary and uninspired, to say the least.

Grande Albergo Sole is an excellent option if you want to stay down town for buisiness or cultural traveling. In Palermos main street everything is on reach, monuments, banks, boutiques...
I had a wonderful vacation in this monumental italian beauty.

excellente situation dans le centre historique.L'hotel se charge de garer votre voiture pour 12euros/jour. Un seul regret : le petit déjeuner n'est pas servi au 5ème étage au restaurant mais dans une salle de rdc.

The advert said internet access was available. I asked three times at the hotel reception and was told "no web access". When I pointed out that the information about the hotel said intertnet access was available in the rooms they said I "could use an internet cafe in the street nearby " They seemed to expect me to accept this as OK because it was "very close to the hotel"!! I was there on business and web access was vital to me. This wrong information about the facility was completely unacceptable. I would never return there!

We were very pleased with our stay at Hotel Grande Albergo Sole. This was our first visit to Palermo. The hotel is very centrally located in the historic part of the city and very accessable to public transportation. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping in the area. The description said that the hotel had been newly renovated, and in this case it was exactly TRUE. It is a very pretty hotel. We also had wonderful breakfasts with a large selection on the buffet. The only problem was that the description said there would be free parking, and we were charged a marginal amount for parking.

Modern and spacious hotel in a working class, non-touristy area of Palermo, bordering the old historic section. No cafes anywhere near, and found one neighborhood restaurant only after much walking. More tourist friendly area is near Via Cavour. Staff was most helpful with a little problem involving our passports.

We had booked two nights at 150 EUROS a night. We were taken up to a room which had a window which opened out onto a light-well (ie. a large lift shaft). The light-well was having work done on it and it was pitch black - in other words, there was no natural light coming into the room. We complained and were moved into the only other available room. It too opened out onto a light-well, but this one was not blocked. We took that room, but bearing in mind the price we paid, we did not expect to have a view of a dark wall from about 15 feet away. The hotel (and venere.com) should make it very clear that the hotel only has a limited number of rooms with windows which actually look out onto the outside world. It was very disappointing bearing in mind the excellent accommodation and value we had found elsewhere in Sicily.

The hotel was lovely and the room very spacious. The evening staff were very helpful and worked out train times to Taormina for us. It was in a very convenient location. It would be good when they finish the terrace area.

Hotel was ok, but I was first given key to room that was still occupied, then had an odd room for one night with two separate rooms with one single bed in each and the bathroom separated into two rooms, one with tub and another with sink and toilet. Then I was given a room that was fine except for poor lighting. Also, elevators stopped at landings between floors, so one had to always walk up or down a half a flight of stairs (with baggage). Breakfast, and room it was served in, was wonderful.
