My reservation was concerning a large twin bed room for 109€ per night.
It was confirmed.
I got a small one which I paid 99€.
First problem: the reservation I made was not respected.
Second problem: if I remember correctly, when I made that reservation, the proposed price for a small twin was 79€, far from the 99 I paid.
If this is right, I propose to withdraw that hotel from your list.
This is the first time I had this kind of problem.
Thanks.

The area from the train station to the hotel is seedy and dirty. We took a longer route to avoid a certain neighborhood that we felt was precarious. Nevertheless, the hotel itself was excellent. The rooms were modest and very clean. The bathrooms were brand new. We found an Indian restaurant, Shalamar, situated right in front of the hotel, two minutes away. The food was not as hot and spicy as I like (probably they are catering to the French palate) but the atmosphere was very Indian and you can eat a decent meal for two for 35,00-40,00 Euros. The conteniental buffet breakfast at the hotel costs 8,00 Euros per person but, for the convenience, it is worth it. You save time and the crossiants are wonderful. The man who runs the hotel is friendly and helpful with a smile. You will need instructions on how to use the safe. The wireless Wi-Fi worked perfectly. The windows had screens. Sheets and towels were clean.

A small yet clean and well situated hotel. The little double is indeed very small however if you are staying for a couple of nights it is more than adequate. The bathroom was spotless but the airconditioning did not work. This was not an issue at this time of year. Service at breakfast could have been better as there appeared to be only one member of staff on. Overall I would return for a short stay without hesitation.

We stayed in a "little double" and it was very small. Also there is no lift, so beware of carrying baggage up the stairs. Overall it was very nice. Breakfast was nice but not included in the room rate.

The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. the rooms were well equipped; the bathroom was great - a great big 'spa' shaped tub to soak away the stresses of travel. It was about a 20 minute amble to the 'old town' and about 15 minutes to the railway staion, so fairly central, if you don't mind a walk. One of Nice's main shopping streets was only a few minutes walk from which you could turn left towards the beach or right towards the station.

As a late booking, we were pleased with our week's stay at Hotel Lepante. This simple lodging with an unfussy charm and relaxed atmosphere made an excellent base for our exploring Nice and beyond. The Manager was quietly professional and his father charming and informative. We would happily consider another stay.

Good central hotel, staff very helpful. Decoration poor needed doing. Found a great place to eat, very close, walk out of hotel, cross road into street opposite, Bis rue Biscarra, walk to end & you will find Chez Marre'n excellent food, excellent prices.

The staff bent over backwards to accommodate us even after we found an apartment, allowing us to use their wireless Internet connection and offering to let us borrow a mattress AFTER we checked out. I would HIGHLY encourage anyone who is considering staying here to do so. You'll be glad you did!

Clean rooms, clean sheets, fluffy towels, hot water from a good shower AND air conditioning. Who could ask for more. The staff were most helpful and I would recommend the Hotel Lepante to anyone visiting Nice. We will certainly revisit.

The hotel is well situated for sightseeing and restaurants.
The old town, the promenade, the train station and the main shopping area are all within walking distance.
The rooms were very clean but on the small side.
The staff were very helpful.

I had to seek out a member of staff each morning in order to take breakfast. On each morning no bowles were provided for the cereals. In the room there was a safe box; this was not bolted down so was of no real use and I could not get the locking mechanism to work anyway.

Our biggest complaint was that there was NO lift -- and our rooms were on the top floor. When we arrived there was no one around who could help us with our luggage. Fortunately, the 4th person in our party was not meeting us until the next town, she never could have dealt with those steps much less carrying the baggage!

The room would reasonably be described as 'basic' - it was small and functional with no charachter except for the french windows opening onto the street (a mixed blessing but it wasn't really noisy). But most cheaper hotels never offer you more than a room, a bed a tv and a shower anyway so that's no drawback.
However, the staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Unlike so many budget chains there is actually something to like about the place. It's also well located - short walk to the railway station and a slightly longer but pleasant and maneagable walk to the old town and promenades.
