Hotel Gounod met our expectations - it was a small, but friendly hotel with competent and helpful staff.
We hadn't appreciated how large Nice was as a city. Good scenery outside the city. The only downside was the poor weather!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Gounod. We were in Room 304 which is spacious and quiet. The best part of the stay was the staff who were uniformly welcoming and very friendly and nice. A sweet touch was the New Year's card in our room. It is also in a great location: a short walk from both the TGV station and the Baie des Anges; it was easy to walk around. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a delightful stay at the Hotel Gounod. We had a corner room with windows on two sides and a palm tree right outside our window. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We had a car and the parking lot next to the hotel was very convenient for in and out driving. The breakfast buffet was delicious and we looked forward to it each morning. Although we didn't mind walking for the most part, you should be aware that the hotel is five long blocks from the beach promenade. If we're ever in Nice again, we will definitely return to the Hotel Gounod. It was that nice.

Located close to train station within easy walking distance with bags. Close to waterfront. Staff were very helpful. Limited parking but they share with the hotel next door when full.

Our train was delayed therefore we were late in arriving. After a somewhat surley taxi ride we were greeted by Eddie who went above and beyond to welcome us and make sure we were comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised to find ourselves upgraded at no additional charge. All the staff were able to answer our questions and were most helpful in our visit to Nice. Thank you all! jc welsh

Professionally run hotel. Beware the swimming pool that you could use at the splendid is very small yet the sun deck is nice.

The room we had in the hotel was excellent, spacious and nicely decorated. The only disadvantage of the hotel is the place where breakfast is served, which is a bit small and uncomfortable. All other facilities were as described in the web page and our stay there was excellent.

Very nice Hotel and central for shops and beach. Sister Hotel 'Splendid' had a pool and hot tub which can be used by guests of the 'Gounod'. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.
