By pulling the room key out of the slot, the A/C switches into "on". After retourning into the room it is cooled down like inside a fridge. This is not only a complete unnecessarily waste of energy, it is also bad for health.
I travel a lot in Asia. In every hotel the A/C turns into "off" when removing the key.
In our case the staff has been very helpful to provide another key to leave inside the slot.

I stayed at this hotel for business and also visited the Taj Palace, ITC Muyari, and Crown hotels in the same visit - all so called 5 star hotels. The ITC was by far the nicest hotel in terms of services, features and ambience. Next was the Taj Palace, followed by the Crown and finally the Metropolitan. The Metropolitan is more like a four star hotel than a 5 star hotel, mainly based upon the facilities offered. For the price you can stay in one of the other 5 star hotels and have get better value for money.
