My daughter and I enjoyed our stay at the hotel, really because of an front desk employee named Christina. We did not really like Naples, the city itself. But she helped us organize a wonderful day trip to the Amalfi Coast. The hotel is very nice and the immediate area around it is nice, but we did not enjoy the city of Naples. The other down side is that with the spectacular view from our room and especially the restaurant (very good food!)because the hotel is on a hill brings the problem of transportation. We had to take a taxi everywhere and we were not impressed with the caliber of taxi drivers. We had to argue the price every ride. But all in all, we had a great time. And we contribute that to Christina!

Overall, the stay was nice, however, not having been to Europe, we have now been told that five star hotels in Europe are not the same as in the U.S. Given that, the quality and maintenance were not what we expected so it was a bit disappointing. Services we normally expect in a top U.S. hotels are unavailable ie. shops, spa services etc. We found this to be true at all the hotels we stayed at.

Without a doubt, the nicest overall hotel we stayed in in Italy. Excellent service, fantastic views, wonderful room, everyone was so helpful and the food was terrific (try the buffalo mozzerella ice cream, it was delicious!) We loved this place.

Parker's hotel is a very good hotel, and the view on Napoli's bay from the terrasse is fantastic !
Concierge service is good, and the location is quite Ok (20 mn by walk from the shopping center)
Unfortunately, I get a very very very small room, even if the price was quite reasonnable, I was expecting a larger one for that price (215 e / night) espcially at that period (low season)
Thta's the only point. May be next time I'll invest some more euros :)

This is a beautiful hotel and the staff is the most professional I have seen. The only drawback is that you have to walk 10-15 minutes (or take bus, cab, etc.) to get to the shopping/restaurant area. I would most certainly stay there again if I have the opportunity.

I stayed at Grand Hotel Parker's from July 23 to 26 2004. There were very few people booked in and I felt a little bit lonely, expecting there to be a full complement of guests. I booked this particular hotel as a solitary female traveller hoping to be rewarded by a five star environment. Unfortunately, the hotel was undergoing refurbishment, not advertised on the website, which meant that the balcony restaurant and bar were closed. Instead, I ate downstairs in the provisional dining room, which had no view over the gulf of Naples. I booked the hotel with this view in mind. I was first given a room with a wall view, which I quickly changed for a bay view. The new room was beautiful but I had to pay 50 euros per night extra. I wish I could have been compensated due to the closure of the roof balcony, but I didn't want to make a fuss. The staff were courteous and helpful, providing me with directions and hints on taxis etc. The wake up call facility was via the tv, which I couldn't get the hang of but I feel that the staff would have helped if I had asked. The meal I had one evening was disappointing because the dining room was empty apart from the pianist, which seemed perfunctory though comforting. The food was delicious but pricey. Breakfasts were abundant with cold meats, cheeses, yogurts, fresh fruit, juices, cereals, cakes and pastries etc. Again, eating alone was difficult to swallow. Naples seemed quiet in this hillside oasis, though the street below my window provided a route for an incessant stream of traffic, even through the night. Access to the train station taking one into the city centre is a 10 or 15 minute walk down hill to Piazza Amedeo. Completely manageable even for the most sedentary of us! The hotel seems to be worth it's five stars but I'm not sure whether more guests are required to really measure it. I spent a lot of money for my short stay even before I left the front doors of the hotel. I would stay there again, but possi
