The Neapolis Hotel is located in the historical district of Naples, and is especially well suited to those interested in museums and building sites. It is convenient to metro lines and bus routes for access to other parts of the city. The hotel is designed to accommodate business travellers as well as families, with a computer and internet access in each room. The staff is notably friendly and helpful.

Neapolis is a typical old European hotel, actually more like the kind I stayed in during my post-college days (except for the private bathroom.) I was traveling solo and was assigned a gigantic triple, which was nice. Unfortunately, the bathroom was stinky, the sheers on the window were gray (they were supposed to be white) and my little loveseat had lots of stains. I loved the location, because it was right off Tribunali and close to many of the Citta Anticca sights. The staff was a bit dim and sent me to the museum on the Close day (tuesday) and had no idea which bus to take to Capodimonte. In fact, most of their info was either wrong or missing, and I was only asking really typical questions that probably any tourist would ask. The hotel has a restaurant, which was the only one they'd recommend, and all it served was pizza and a couple of lackluster salads. But-I'd stay here again just for the location, as I like to be in the center of the old part of town wherever I am.

My room was a gigantic triple (I was alone) which was nice for me and actually would have been plenty large enough for three people. It even had a little loveseat! The things about the room that bothered me were: 1. the bathroom smelled as though there were plumbing problems somewhere, so I had to hold my breath whenever I used it and 2. the sheers were so filthy that whenever I opened the window and had to disturb them, I was disturbed. Also, the loveseat had some pretty heavy duty stains.
I did love the location, though, which was right smack dab in the middle of the Citta Antica and right off Tribunali.
Unfortunately the desk staff was very poor at simple directions. They sent me to the museum on the Closed day and knew nothing about buses or trains at all. The only restaurant they'd direct me to was their own downstairs, which only had pizza & salads.

The Neapolis is in a great location in the heart of Spaccanapoli, but it is a mediocre hotel with small rooms and uncomfortable beds. Don't hang around for the breakfast buffet; it is easier and better to eat at any nearby cafe.

We came by car. Considering hotel location, garage use is a must (very narrow streets, no parking nearby).
Rooms were recently painted and furnished ! very comfortable.
Location is great for those who enjoy old Napoli streets - and they surely are enjoyable.
A single drawback : noisy heating (necessary during our winterly stay).

Hotel & room was clean. Room a good size & internet terminal in room useful. Nice aspect over piazza and double glazing kept noise down to acceptable level. Excellent location in historical centre. Mattress was a bit firm for our taste. Towels were changed daily. Shower only but water hot. Excellent breakfast buffet. Lift to 3rd floor reception. Staff were friendly & helpful.

WE did not have any expectations before making the booking other than being central to interesting areas of the city and convenient for transfer to the airport.
The taxi from Napoli station cost us 15 euro but the route caused us some concern as it took us up very narrow streets and sometimes what we thought were laneways. On arrival at our hotel, we could not readilly work out how to enter as it was on the third floor and signage was not to be seen. In addition, the lift was located in a courtyard and took sometime top arrive at ground level. Once at reception, we were very pleasantly surprised and treated very well by staff who invited us to take breakfast while the room was being prepared. This was very good of them as we were very early arriving. The room was spacious and clean and had all the necessary facilities. The free internet was a bonus. Tea in the pizzeria was a delight. Staff very friendly and good value. As it turned out, the hotel was very well located for walking to the museum, the duomo and sidestreet cafes and markets. The taxi to the airport was arranged by the hotel staff and 20 euro as quoted.

very nice hotel in the center of naples, very close to Via Tribunale with a lot of restaurants, shops etc. Superior room was very new and large. Excellent bath-room with wirlpool bathtube. Breakfast was typical italian means no big buffet, but ok. Round about a very nice hotel and ideal for a city trip.

We were only in Naples for 1 night. This was the nicest hotel we had stayed in since starting our vacation in Venice 2 weeks earlier. The rooms were very modern and clean. First time I saw a bathtub in 2 weeks! We had free internet plus a computer in the room, flat screen tv and a nice view. The staff were very nice and helpful, breakfast actually had eggs!

fearfully very narrow roads.Do not ever try to go there with your own car. The hotel was on the third floor of a block of apartments. From the entry of the block you can see only dark apartments and stairs. Here there is the entry of an elevator which you go on the 3 floor, in the hotel.
Nevertheless the room was big the breakfast very goog and the staff very kind.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The in-room internet access is very convenient. The breakfast is average but you can't have everything. The indirect path up the stairs is difficult with heavy bags but it's Europe and you have to expect things like that. The staff helped anyway.

The hotel was excellent, the food in the Gryphon Inn was great! Only issue with my stay was that the internet went down causing them to not be able to process my payment. I was not informed of this until I went to check out...I ended up wandering around the city for over an hour trying to find an ATM that worked in order to get the cash to pay for my stay. If I had been told about the issue a day or two previously, I would've had plenty of time to get some cash.

We loved the Neapolis Hotel. It was nodern, comfortable, quiet, clean, hospitable. We liked its location in the middle of the old town. The staff was helpful. The bathroom was clean and spacious. The service at the Locanda del Griffo owned by the hotel was slow unless you ordered pizza.

Bathrooms were great, internet was great, and breakfast wasn't too bad. Had a problem with our internet, and after mentioning it to staff was fixed that day. Great location in the heart of the city, close to the Doumo and the bay. Would definitely stay here again, always felt safe on the property and in the vicinity.

The elevator was out on our visit and it was a long climb with heavy luggage to get to the hotel (3 flights up)- our room was dirtier than I liked and the bathroom was worse. We were there only one night to fly out the next morning- so for the price it was ok to stay in one night but I would not use this as the hotel to stay in if I was visiting Naples for more than one night.

we had a fantastic stay at neapolis. we had a room on the 4th floor looking down to via tribunale. the windows are very sound proof but the street is not that noisy at night. the internet connection in the room was superb and the bathroom was very new with a fantastic big shower.
breakfast was OK for italy, fresh cappucinos, croissants etc. it is located right in the center of the old part. the streets are very narrow and you live in the middle of the locals which we liked a lot. some nice little trattorias and pizzerias are right at via tribunale. would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is right in the historic centre of Naples and as such is an excellent base for seeing the city. There are plenty of really good places to eat in the area - you might have problems though if you only speak English. I didn't see any public transport in the immediate area which would need to be considered if walking was a problem. Being in the middle of the city it wasn't absolutely quiet at night, but then what can you expect! Naples is a stunning city and well worth seeing, other reviewers I read talked about safety issues in the city, but I had no problems at all. Overall an excellent base and a pleasant stay. This was my first stay here and I would definitely plan to stay here again when I return to Naples.

This was an excellent choice for a first visit by a couple arriving by plane. The hotel is in the center of historic Napoli. Just a short bus ride (15 minutes) from the airport to the main train station, then a 10 minute walk straight through old Napoli to the hotel which is located in an antique part of town. The staff was very welcoming and the room large with a great view on the courtyard (beautifully lit at night) and main street below (lots of foot traffic during the day but rather calm at night). A pc with internet access was installed in the room for super convenience. Breakfast was plentiful with special, local pastries. From the hotel we were able to walk anywhere and everywhere in town. We took the metro to some far-flung places like the small cemetary where Leopardi is buried with "Virgile". Watch out for the traffic, there are no street lights. Near the hotel are a couple of excellent pizza restaurants as well as a wonderful trattoria.

Hotel Neapolis is in a difficult to find run-down area of Naples. Getting a taxi from the airport or station is the best way to get there. The taxi driver escorted us to the door of the hotel (either for safety or for a bigger tip)but on the whole we felt safe walking about the area, even at night. There are places in Naples you wouldn't visit evein in broad daylight! The Hotel itself is slightly run-down also, even if they do supply a computer and free broadband in the rooms. I would have preferred a bigger room and cleaner bathroom instead. The shower was tiny with not enough room to move around and the grouting around the tiles was mildewed. Breakfast was very poor, even for Italy. When food ran out it was not replaced. The advertised bar was non-existent. The restaurant was quite good - better for lunch than dinner at night. You get 10% discount in the restaurant if you stay in the Hotel. The Bellini restaurant on Piazza Bellini is much better. There are other restaurants and cafes on Piazza Bellini worth trying also. Naples is not a city to which I would return.

OUR STAY HERE WAS VERY NICE AND THIS HOTEL OFFERS AN EXCEPTIONAL VALUE FOR THE RATE. IT FEATURES EVERYTHING YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM AN AMERICAN HOTEL AND THEY EVEN HAD A FREE INTERNET COMPUTER IN THE ROOM. THIS IS OUR IMPRESSION MINE FROM AMERICA AND MY FIANCE'S FROM ROMANIA...IT IS A GOOD PLACE TO STAY FOR VISITING BOTH NAPLES AND THE POMPEII AREA WHICH IS EASILY ACCESSED BY TRAIN. BRAVO NEAPOLIS!

Hotel was very difficult to find. We had a GPS in our hire vehicle but still managed to get lost a few times. The hotel is located in a very small street on the third floor of an old building. Parking was extremely difficult/limited and my car was damaged in their carpark and no responsibility taken.
Breakfast was good but first in first served, if one is late, too bad. The free internet access in each room was great. Overall for a three star hotel it was not too bad.

Great location. Right in the heart of the Centro Storico. Naples is not for the weak. It is crowded, chaotic, and overwhelming. But there is a great street for shopping nearby with two "underground tours" of Greek and Roman Naples. There are two nice piazzas with nice cafes clsedy by and the Archeological Museum is about a 15 minute walk away with a Metro stop. We ended up falling in love with this city. It was the most unique place I'd ever been in Europe. The staff didn't speak English all that well, but the breakfast was excellent, the rooms clean, and there were friendly smiles all around. Oh and yeah, the restaurant was excellent. Get the Pizza or the Prociusto with Monzarella.

The half-board option was disappointing (very little choice from the otherwise excellent menu) - my advice would be to eat at the hotel's restaurant, but just take the 10% reduction offered on evening meals. Then you get a better choice. Nice food.

The facilities in the hotel could not be faulted. However we had booked 2 doubles and were told on arrival only one was available. My husband and I ended up in seperate rooms/We arrived in a high speed taxi at dusk, which in Naples can be a bit frightening. The hotel is 3rd floor of building. Doubt if I would stay in Naples again but the Hotel was OK

The Hotel is listed as having dining facilities for half board. The facility was closed and no email warning given. Arriving at 7:30 pm we were advised that we would have to dine "out" and a small reduction in the rate would be given. This was never satisfactorily and specifically explained. In the room the telephone did not work over the whole week which precluded room service ( also advertised ). The shower ( no bath available ) was approximately 60 centimetres square and did not allow an adult to bend. The fittings were heavily corroded and in a most inconvenient position in such a small space. Carelessness in moving could produce a sudden change from `hot` to `icy` in one`s shower. The hot water tap on the hand basin gave nothing more than a tepid trickle and was explained as choked with alkali. It was unuseable. The rooms are supplied with one thin pillow although more were supplied on request. The included breakfast was somewhat meagre and ran out of one or two comestibles, unitl specifically requested. Arriving early for breakfast ( 097:30 to 10:30 ) is strongly recommended if the hotel is full with tour parties. A car and guide was arranged by the hotel for a day, with a friend of the boss, and was charged at £227 sterling ( 338 Euros ). It consisted of a high speed drive along the Amalfi coast with one stop for lunch at a vry ordinary roadside cafe known to the driver where lunch for three cost £57 pounds sterling. The Hotel is located in the most dirty, raffish, and awkward quarter of the "Old City" and my very expensive movie camera was stolen off my shoulder even though being held very firmly, by a motor scooter bandit. The Police seemed extremely familiar with this kind of crime in this particular area. The streets in which the Hotel is situated are `ancient stones` unevenly paved and extremely difficult for walking but there is no alternative to that other than calling a taxi on every venture out. That is also a lot safer. A

Beautifully located in Spaccanapoli, the old quarter of Naples with its important churches and pizzerias, Neapolis is a 5 - 10 minute walk from the National Archaelogical Museum in Piazza Cavour, and the subway station there, one stop from the central railroad station. Piazza Bellini, with its charming literary cafe “Intra Moenia”, is not much more than five minutes away.
The hotel is reached by private elevator from a courtyard and takes up most of the third floor of a residential building. We received a most enthusiastic welcome. At breakfast, we received seconds on the very nice cappucino, and found a buffet with meat, cheese, yogurt, sweet rolls, fresh juices. There is free wireless internet access in each room, and you don't need to bring a computer to use it.

Winziges, sauberes Zimmerchen mitten in der Altstadt. Nettes Personal (Anna-Sophia!).

Good central location. However, would be hard to find, unless arriving by taxi (even though they don't necessarily know were it is - note should only cost you approx. 10 euros from central train station). Staff (reception and breakfast staff especially) were outstanding. Nothing was ever a problem. Room was neat and comfortable.
