The room was spacious, even by American standards. The hotel was clean and the staff courteous. The breakfast was great. It is in an ideal location for getting around Naples; easy access to subways and buses. We highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying there again soon.

The hotel is perfectly decent, but perhaps a bit overpriced considering its unsalubrious neighbourhood. The facilities are OK but it is not especially welcoming in that its bar never seemed to be open or functioning when I was around. In other words it is somewhere people stay in order to go elsewhere. Buses are plentiful but crowded. The metro in Naples is a bad joke. But the city is fascinating. Incidentally the local bus to the airport from up the road costs almost nothing - but the hotel was more eager to find a taxi than to volunteer exactly how to use the buses...

Naples was our last destination after a months holliday in the south of Italy. We are a family with to small children, who was going to explore Naples for a couple of days. We had heard a lot negative aspects regarding Naples. And I'm sorry to say most was true. The traffic is unbelivable caotic. Good advice is to bring the GPS if you go by car. The city is dirty and full of smog. The noice and tempo makes you feel stressed. Anyway the hotel was a nice place to relax in beetween. The staff was very helpful, and the hotel gave after our opinion great value for money. We can strongly recommend this hotel.

The hotel staff was extremely warm and welcoming, as well as helpful. The hotel is a bit of a walk to major sights, and further from the train station than was indicated. But there are buses nearby, and it is a real bargain to have such a beautiful and large room for this price in Italy, with a decent breakfast included.

An excellent place to stay in good location in one of the world's most frenetic cities; close to Botantical Gardens, Archeological Museum and on bus route to Piazza Garibaldi to catch Circumvesuviana to Pompeii and Herculanium. By Italian standards, the breakfast was excellent and the coffee superb. Only problem with the breakfast room was the terrible piped music! Grazie Fabio!

The hotel itself was not bad, rooms were a nice size but the area is horrible. The hotel desk staff were rather indiffernt to us but we only stayed one night. It is a very small hotel with only one restaurant that had no one in it.

Ignore everything you've ever heard about Naples - Yes it's noisy, yes it can be a bit smelly on a hot day and yes it's a bit of an overwhelming city. BUT IT'S FANTASTIC!
This hotel is an absolute oasis from the hectic city - straight opposite the beautiful botanic gardens, about 1km from the main train station, 500m from the nearest tube stop(Pzza Cavour) and 700m from the national museum. It is on a main route into the city so the road is noisy but we had a room overlooking the gardens (and road) but they're all quadruple glazed windows and airconditioned so had really peaceful nights sleep. Not to mention the fact that the rooms look far nicer in reality than in the hotels published pictures and were bigger than most suites we've stayed in.
If i had to mention negatives they would be that there was no fruit at breakfast - but with a veg market just up the road that was easily overcome. Also at the moment the hotel doesn't have a restaurant in the evening but make sure you try the seafood restaurant 20m from the hotels front door. We've travelled all over the world and it really was the best we've had, great fun - and proof that Napoli locals arn't all rude as a lot of guides say!
We can't wait to go back to Naples and see all the bits we missed and would definitely stay at the same hotel.

Very friendly staff! very helpful. We had a good meal in their restaurant downtown. We had free transport both ways. Very nice seafood restaurant to the left, when you go out of the hotel. About 20 min to walk downtown. Be smart and ask for the price before you enter a taxi. We were ripped off!
Lovely roofgarden! We enjoyed it every afternoon. I will stay here again!

Our stay at the Del Real Orto Botanico hotel was great. The staff was extremely helpful and very kind to us. They were able to accommodate our party of 4 in one of their 2 room suites. We found the room to be very clean, welcoming and spacious. The daily breakfast was beyond satisfying. The hotel was located a few doors down from a great restaurant that served the world's most amazing pizza and delightful pasta dishes. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone with plans to visit Naples.

This hotel was a lovely oasis of order, space and quiet amid a street scene of hooting traffic, people swerving across your path on mopeds, broken pavements, uncollected rubbish and general mayhem - Naples, in fact! It's a bit of a walk into town (15-20 mins) but there are lots of buses: you take the weight off your feet but probably won't get there any quicker! Near the hotel is a very acceptable pizzeria, an excellent ice cream parlour, a delicious cake shop and a very classy deli which sells good salami and the real bufala Mozzarella. From the hotel's roof garden you can view Vesuvius and predict the weather.

If you are prepared to visit Naples and take a bit of risk in doing so, which really does apply for any big city in the world, this is an excellent hotel close to the city center and many beautiful location. If you have trouble to sleep, ask for one of the quiter room looking on the inner courtyard, since the trafic in Naples never stops. Overall, excellent price/service ratio.

Lovely Hotel with fantastic staff. We got upgraded 2 a suite without asking as there were rooms available, good safe area/street. Delicious Pizzeria/Fish Restaurant a few doors from the hotel, probably the best pizza I have ever tasted cooked in a brick wood fired oven. A sister hotel in town offers dinner at a reasonalbe price with pick up & drop off at your hotel.

hotel has no private parking and didn t mention before that we had to pay to the parking place that they showed us.(we learned it on the last minute, just before leaving) so we additionaly had to pay a really big amount for the parking. except the parking problem, our overall stay was pleasent and satisfying.

Good hotel; frendly and competent reception; close enough to the public transport.
The only problem was the traffic noise in the rooms facing the road in front of the hotel ( despite a triple window!! )

OK, so you're under a flight path, but the planes stop at around 10.30pm and they don't start too early. But that's the only aspect of our stay with which I could find fault. Upon arrival the manager noted that we'd booked through Venere, and promptly upgraded us to a suite (This courtesy was to be repeated almost everywhere we stayed). The extra space was such a luxury after a tight squeeze in Rome. The furniture and furnishings were great - clearly the owner is a collector as there were many amazing pieces dotted around the hotel. The photos don't really do it justice. You are a stone's throw (turn left as leaving hotel) from A Figlia do Marinaro (spelling??), which is where we had the best pizza in all our travels. I'm drooling at the thought of it and it's 6.55am. A right turn from the hotel (and walk for maybe a block, or even less)will take you to a wonderful pastry shop that sells the exquisite orange blossom and ricotta canoli that are so typical of the area. The staff were extremely helpful - offering to escort us to restaurants because that would be easier for us than navigating our own way! We spent the evenings out on the streets and didn't see any untoward activity, so it felt very relaxed and comfortable. We'd really only chosen to visit Napoli to see Pompeii (absolutely outstanding), but will return in the future to explore further. No doubt we'd stay at this hotel. And book through Venere.

A nice and clean hotel not far from the city center. The bus stop is opposite the hotel and also the botanical garden.
People at Hotel Del Real Orto Botanico come mostly from Germany and Holland. The Staff is always friendly and helpful.
In any case, you should visit Capri and Pompeji when you are in Naples.

Location distance from railway station is never correct. Staff on desk made no attempt to make us feel welcomed. They could not have been less helpful if they tried.
Location of hotel is not a nice area and we feared going out at night. We witnessed street fight and first 3 people we saw told us to keep my wife's bag hidden. Not a good start.

It was a pity that the restaurant was closed for the holidays, so that we could not eat at the restaurant. We would have liked to do that, because of the recommendations by earlier guests. The breakfast was oké, but not very special. The service was good and very friendly.

Regrettably the room I had, a single room, had the window on an ugly inner court. As an alternative I was offered a nicer double room overlooking a very noisy street.
Anyway they will see me again here

Hotel is excellent, rooms are spacious and is value for the price. Most of the staff were very helpful. We had a room in the front of the hotel but once we closed the shutters we could not hear noisy Naples. The area where the hotelis situated is run down but near to the historic centre. The hotel is 3 klms from the airport but beware of the taxis drivers who take you through the centre of Naples at lunchtimeIt cost €25, from the hotel to the airport €12

Great hotel and fabulous restaurant with very friendly staff, the only downside was the shower cubicle in our room was too small. Traffic noise was ever present but that's Naples! Excellent value for money.

It was a lovely hotel and we enjoyed our stay here very much. We were misled by the name and description as we assumed there was open access to the botannical gardens. In the event the hotel wrote us a note which got us a visit. Also we were not aware when we booked that all the restaurants in the hotel would be closed. Staff were very friendly and helped us with every request very efficiently. The room and public areas in the hotel were all comfortable and decorated to a high standard. There was a fair bit of noise at night so light sleepers might have a problem.

We meant to contact the hotel as soon as we got back from holiday as we were so impressed by the level of service but our son has been monopolising the computer finishing his dissertation for his MA in English Literature. We can at last get to use our computer!
We were very impressed by the hotel. No great fuss was made but everyone was very friendly and very helpful when we did ask questions or needed assistance. We especially appreciated the use of the hotel car to get us to the airport on our departure. The rooms were excellent (the efficient air-conditioning was much appreciated), spacious (nice to be able to sit and relax and read), clean and well serviced every day. Breakfast was excellent and peaceful - a good start to the day. It was nice to be able to collapse some evenongs and enjoy a meal in the excellent roof top restaurant.
Could you please ensure that this is passed on to the hotel and thank them for our pleasant and enjoyable stay in Naples.
