Hotel Da Vestro Monticiano - Venere.com exterior - entrance The Da Vestro is a hotel restaurant in Monticiano, Siena, Tuscany, near the border with the province of Grosseto. The town is at an altitude of 375 metres, surrounded by woods and near four nature reserves: Farma, Alto Merse, Basso Merse and La Pietra.

This Tuscany hotel was once a typical farmhouse, which went by the name of Orbano. Now the hotel offers a fine restaurant with wine shop, an outdoor swimming pool, a spacious and lush garden with kids play area and a terrace.

Da Vestro is the ideal place to enjoy a relaxing holiday, a quiet place to retire after a busy day, a place to feel welcome, where guests can enjoy the delicious gastronomical specialities this region has to offer. Qualified masseurs are available for rehabilitation and body care. In the surrounding area there are walking and bicycle tracks and the possibility to organise splendid outings and tours through the local horse riding centre.

Local farmers markets take place in Monticiano on Friday mornings, in Siena on Wednesday mornings and Colle Val d’Elsa on Thursday mornings.

Rooms were ok, staff hardly understands English or German, service in the hotel very slow ie if you sit in the garden you will have to order your tea/drinks inside as nobody will make an effort to enquire about your wishes. Easy traffic connection for trips to Sienna,Florence and tuscan destination. Surrounds are nice but we missed the "Whow" factor, maybe Tuscany is somewhat overrated, eg eastern Slovenia had a much more picturesque surround at a quarter of the price. Generally Italy is way too expensive.

A great place for a vacation in Tuscany. We enjoyed every minute. The restaurant is great, one of the best we ate in. The only disadvantage is that the village of Monticiano is quite remote, but the views make it worth.

Rooms are adequate for a short stay, the kitchen however is absolutely fantastic. It can compete with the famous restaurants in Tuscany, but without their prices. We had one of the top 3 meals of our stay. Traditional, sound, top quality local Tuscan food. Their tagliatelle cinghuale is to die for and bonus is the homemade 'pan forte' for desert.
