Inter-hotel De l'Ecu - Montbard

We loved the oldness of the hotel, there should be more history info. The room had a big window that looked out onto the street so very French looking, which we loved.The staff was very nice. They need to be sure to inform everyone that there is curfew, and the doors will be locked, we came in at 1:am and had to get someone out of bed to open the door and this person was NOT happy, we were never told, if the doors are locked use your key. It was a difficult place to find. But over all we enjoyed the stay. Oh! yes, parking was a issue.

Hotel is nicely situated in the center of the old town of Montbard. Overall stay was ok, but a little expensive for what is offered. Rooms are old fashioned and a little dark. Wooden floor a pretty noisy when somebody walks by. Mattresses were a little worn out. The shower had quiet a bit of mold and the water only got warm after a few minutes and turned cold at times during showering.

As a one night stopover this was a very nice hotel,not much to see in surrounding area and not many restraunts around.The hotel had an excellent restraunt though not cheap.Free parking out the front.

We loved the hotel, the staff, the setting, and the hotel restaurant was one of the best we found in France. I wish whe had spent a couple more days in the Montbard area. Hotel de l'Ecu was the only one we visited on our vacation that gave us coffee and cakes after our late-night stroll. Delightful place, great restaurant!
