HOTEL REVIEWS

Italy, Apr 2008
I must say that I was positively surprised by the quality of service offered by the Milton Hotel, especially after reading some of the previous reviews. For starters, the surrounding area is not beautiful but not even that bad - nearby there's also a big and convenient supermarket (Esselunga, V.le Jenner). As to the hotel, stuff were friendly and our room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of choice (only drawback, the not so good coffee from an automatic machine). A big plus for me was free wi-fi internet all over the property. Certainly the hotel would benefit from some renovation but all in all it was good value for money, especially for a notoriously expensive city like Milan.

A little too far away from everything in Milan. You need to have a car to reach the centre or else a good pair of legs to walk to the Metro station, aprox 1 mile away from the hotel. Bad surroundings..look like being in Marrakesh then in Milan, but we had no problem in our staying. The hotel seems to be a juwel in the mud :D

One night, one room wasnot cleaned, and charged nor changed linens, although they charged the same high price for "Salone"! I said, but they didn't do anything. Also when we arrived, the person in the reception was not really friendly to answer, I needed to know for the breakfast and other some information, phoned up to ask, but actually he said "we are busy!". I don't recommend this hotel.

The directions to the hotel, were very poor. We updated our gps the dat before we left and we couldn't find it, do to the name of the street and hotel name that changed but not on the internet maps. You directions from the station to the hotel were incorrect. So we had to walk a while in the dark and cold seeking for the hotel.

We were very disappointed in this hotel. 1)The air conditioner did not work and we found the room unbearably hot. 2)There was a light outside our room which shone in to the room all night. This,in combination with the oppressive heat meant that we did not sleep at all. 3)The dining room did not really cater for evening meals. The evening menu selection was poor, the food was substandard and poorly presented. Breakfast was somewhat better. 4)I requested an iron to be brought to the room but was unable to us it as the plug did not fit the power point. Despite room service saying that they would bring an adaptor, they did not do so. We would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel was hard to find and the area it is in is awful. My boyfriend and I were happy to pay for secured parking as we are sure the car would not have been there in the morning if left on the street! The greeting at reception was ok however the service at the bar was extremely poor. The bar man could not have been more rude and obviously reluctant to serve us. Overall, I would not recommend this as a place to stay if you wish to enjoy your experience in Milan. Find somewhere in a better neighbourhood with staff who are more welcoming of tourists.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! This was the worst Hotel I stayed at in Italy. It was in a terrible spot in the city, where I did not feel safe at all at night. The room was 70 Euro and was big and spacious. But it was far from clean, with moths flying around everywhere, and the bathtub was a disaster. The breakfast was even worse, it tasted awful and I felt sick for days after that. I never went back to try anything the second day, ate at a nearby cafe.

We decided to finish our Italian adventure in Milan. We had heard that Milan is not a beautiful city and that was accurate, but we did enjoy our stay and it is a gateway to Lake Como. Public transportation is good in Milan. One pass purchased at a local tabacchi shop will get you on the tram, bus, or metro.

Nice hotel, clear, spacious room, garage but surroundings dangerous. Hotel is situated in not very nice part of Milan. You should be careful by evenings and night. Dobry hotel, pokoje ładne, duze, jest garaż. Hotel ma jedną wadę jest położony w niebezpiecznej dzielnicy i trzeba uważać wieczorami i nocami jak się wraca.

The accommodation was hard to find when we first arrived going by the directions we were given over the internet. Once we found a closer underground station we managed to get around easier. We stayed for 4 nights, 5 days.

We had a special price of 90€ per night per doubleroom, which was a real good price for the standard offered. Everything was clean. There was even a German tv programme (RTL) which rescued our Formula 1 weekend. The public area is furnished mainly with IKEA furniture which I found quite surprising. Nevertheless it looked very stylish. In the near surrounding we found a very nice restaurant where we got a day special for 10€ inkl. pizza, drink, dessert and coffee.

The only negative comment about this hotel, is that the surrondings are not really safe at night. At least the employees were kind enough to recommened us to take a taxi if we were to get back late in the evening. Overhaul we had a really nice stay. The staff was really helpful and the breakfast offered a good variety

- I asked to have a shirt ironed the first day. After one day I did not find it in my room and asked again, they had forgotten. After 2 more days I got it back as it was. - elevator were not working sometimes (a problem if your room is on the 9th floor) - no internet connection available - A/C difficult to be controlled in the room

Germany, Aug 2006
The room was noisy due to unspecified noise coming from air condition or sth. like that. We weren't able to find it out. The map description to the hotel was quite poor as we came with metro and didn't know which way to walk. I have expected a better description with more detailed information on the map including metro (which line and stop station lancetti, continuing with the way how to walk)On the first view we feel a little bit lost. The area where the hotel is located is not nice. We missed bars and cafes. There is nothing for going out in the evening. The receptionist spoke bad English, he couldn't explain the way. What he said was only: On the left you will arrive in 5 or 6 minutes. And that's all. What a pity for a 4 star hotel!

Probably more of a business hotel, but we got a good price. The staff is friendly and the rooms are spacious and clean. Unfortunately, this place is no where near any of the tourist sights despite what they claim, and in somewhat of a questionable neighborhood. Also, if you choose to drive to drive in Milan, my prayers are with you.

The area in which the hotel is situated is not ideal for women on their own. There are a lot of men hanging around the area outside the internet shop. The hotel information said that there was a restaurant and there wasn't. The hotel did not serve evening meals.

We enjoyed our stay and the hotel was value for money (Parking & b'fast). However the hotel is not in a nice location (beware lone female travellers) and the map on venere.com is very inadequate, make sure you have your own detailed map and do not rely on the one from the website.

Es un hotel que nos gustó mucho: las habitaciones espaciosas, el desayuno completo. En recepción hablaban castellano. No está céntrico y te tienes que deplazar por la cuidad en transporte público (en coche es imposible). Tiene párquing incluido

Location of this hotel is not very convenient for those without a car. It takes about 15min of swift walking to get to subway station (yellow line), or 5min to bus stop (didn't try it). Hotel has underground garage for about 20 cars. The first turn would be somewhat tricky for car over 5m of lenght though. Garage doesnt have lift, so remember to unload your luggage before you drive inside. There was notice in the hotel lift that the hotel was undergoing renovation, and they apologize for any inconvenience. Personally I experienced no inconvenience, and they hotel was almost perfect. Spacious room with bathtub/shower was nicely furnished and comfortable. Breakfast was awesome. Best I had on my 2 weeks trip around Italy. Staff is helpful, and speak quite good english. The only drawback is the surrounding area. It is some kind of immigrants "ghetto". At night I saw several black guys on nearby street obviusly smuggling some white powder. I wouldn't call the area pleasant to look at nor very clean, but doesn't seem to be unsafe. I can highly recommend this hotel.

Blaise&Francis is a fantastic hotel! The whole staff is very kind and professional, compliments to all of them!!! Breakfast is better than the avarage italian standard. In the upper floors you can admire a favolous sight over milan. Although VENERE confirmed a higher price than the one that was indicated on the web-site and booked by us, the staff in the hotel was professional enough to manage this situation in our interest by taking the lower price. Nevertheless it was a quite unpleasend situation for us. Thanks again to all of the Blaise&Francis-Staff!

We have no commence during the stay. But a point to note is that, the transport provided by the Hotel to the MICAM FAIR on the second day(return trip),the transport never turn up,and we have waited for more than one hour, call was make to the hotel, but no one have made arrangement to pick the guess, and some has to walk back,(because after 7.30pm we can not get taxi at the fair.) My point is even the transport is free for the guess in the Hotel, the hotel should made other arrangement to pick up tose people at the fair, when we call and tell them that the transport never turn up. Maybe they can improve on this .

The hotel is nice, nice view on Milan, but the room is not so confortable than we was waiting. TV is small, radio was break, door closer was hard and with key not electronic. We think that this is a 3star hotel and not 4star. But the employees is for 4star
