We know Massa Marittima well, if we han't the Fenice would have been difficult to find. The big downside for us was the lack of a car park. I was not happy leaving my brand new car on the road. At least nothing untoward happened. When we arrived (Saturday lunchtime) we were not shown to the room , despite requests we had to work out for ourselves how the air conditioning system worked. This was dissapointing. However everything else was stunning.

By car
Proni Florence: Florence - Siena, direction Siena, Exit Colle Val D'Elsa, then follow S.S.. 441 direction Massa Marittima.
From Livorno : A 12 Exit Rosignano, Aurelia E 80 Exit Follonica Est, Direction Massa Marittima
From Rome: Exit Civitavecchia A 12 - S.S Aurelia E 80, exit Scarlino, Direction Massa Marittima.

By Train
The closest railway station is in Follonica, 14 km far from Massa Marittima.
The FMF bus terminal is just outside the railway station. Ticket must be bought before getting on the bus. The transfer to Massa Marittima will take just 20'.

By Plane :
Pisa (Galileo) airport - km 125
Rome (Fiumicino) airport - km 247
Florence (Peretola) airport - km 120
