Great value hotel, good room/bathroom size, lovely staff, quiet. English spoken and understood to a high standard. There are no food/drink facilities but continental breakfast can be ordered the night before. There are plenty of cafes in the immediate vacinity and excellent restaurants and taxis within a few minutes stroll. And a few minutes more and you are on the beach. The hotel can also arrange a taxi to collect you at the bottom of the street. Spanish television only which is good as the hotel is not full of opk (other peoples kids!) The hotel is in a pedestrianised area with cobbled streets, some fairly steep, although it is smooth and wheelchair accessible from the main road (approx. 100 metres) and the hotel has a lift. For others like me with a teenage daughter, there are full length mirrors in the rooms and on each floor in the halls. As other reviewers have pointed out, the outside door is locked in the late evening and you ring the bell for access but I never found this to be a problem as it simple means the owners don't have to sit at the front desk all night. I stay in Marbella several times a year and I will definately choose this hotel again. Why pay several hundred euros extra at the big hotels - spend it on shoes instead!

This Hotel is in a great location in Marbella, very close to Old Town and the beach. The problem is, on all maps it appears to be on an actual street but in fact it is located on a pedestrianized street and virtually impossible to see from the road. Parking anywhere around the area is an absolute nightmare at all times of day and night. Best to take a bus from the airport directly to the town as driving and parking is very hectic and busy.
The Hotel was immaculate and it is obvious that the owners take great pride in their establishment. However, for travellers looking to explore night life and stay out late, it is best to avoid this hotel as it is run more like a Bed and Breakfast (without the breakfast) than a hotel. The front gates are mostly locked and coming and going tends to feel like an imposition on the owners. After a long day of exploring it is a hassle to have to buzz and wait for the owner to let you in to the hotel.
The room was spacious and very clean, the towels were clean but had a crusty feel because of being hung to dry. The bed was unimaginably hard which we remedied by using air matresses under the sheets. The tv was not working and english channels (BBC) were not available.
A warning to travellers: the ocean in Marbella was the most disgusting and dirty we have ever encountered (including trips to Asia), and we couldn't bear the thought of swimming in it. If you are looking to spend alot of time at the beach, it is best to avoid this area altogether.
The hotel was a welcome quiet spot after being in the bustle of the town, however we probably wouldn't stay in the area again.

Very clean. Lovely decent size room. Good shower. No safe or minibar. Powerful aircon. On a quiet side street at the edge of the old town and just 3 or 4 mins walk to the beach. Didn't feel too comfortable staying out too late as you need to ring the front door bell and get someone up, but we enjoyed our stay more than that in a more expensive 3* nearby

I've been amazed by the cleanliness of the room (sheets are changed every two days!)and the owners were gorgeous and really hard workers.
The hotel is really close the heart of the town and you can reach the most interesting beaches in a while.
The only thing I could point out is that there's no bar into the hotel, so you have to provide for everithing outside and breakfast is not enclosed.
My general experience at Hotel Central was excellent!!!!

We stayed utof season and I think we were the only guests. The patrons were very nice, helpful and friendly. The room was clean and adequate. kingsize bed and a completely new bathroom. Downside, no facility for making your own drink and there was no plug in bath or sink - although we didn't ask for one as we used the shower. Location 5 mins from the old town/ Would stay again/

The owner was very nice. However he was the only one there and we had to wait for him to c ome in each time. He may have changed the lines, he did make up the beds, but in the 5 nights we were there the bath and room was never cleaned. The loaction was great as it was so near the beach. May not stay there again

Hotel Central feels more like a home than a hotel. It is located perfectly on a pedestrian street in the Old Town, a perfect place to walk and shop. Restaurants on every corner and picturesque little streets, the old town was a welcome surprise. The beach is also just a block away. Overall a great value and a great stay.

Our stay at Hotel Central reminded me of being 16 years old and coming home late to a worried, tired and pissed off parent. If you are a young couple and you are planning to go out late and enjoy the nightlife, I would not recommend this hotel. The hotel is very nice but as the entire place is floored with tile, sound carries very easily. You can not even get away with very very low music playing without upsetting the hotel owner. I would actually consider this more of a bed and breakfast (without the breakfast) than a hotel. If you are planning to go to bed early every night during your stay, this is the place for you.
Other than that, the rooms are very nice, well kept and clean.

Enjoys quiet location in pedestrianised street in close proximity to Old Town and Promenade.Best suited to those who want to explore the delights of Marbella on foot or its environs by the excellent public bus service as car parking would be problematic.Well served by convenience stores and eating places.Try tomato bread and coffee for breakfast at Gaspars or the best fish you are ever likely to eat at California-both nearby and representing amazing value for money. The hotel's owner is personable and takes great pride in his spotlessly presented establishment.Bed linen and towels changed every other day.For the traveller looking for a relaxing authentic spanish break on a sensible budget then Hotel Central makes an ideal base.

We highly recommend Hotel Central, the rooms were extremely comfortable and well decorated. Our stay was made all that much better by the friendly owners of the Hotel that were soo courteous and forthgiving with information about the Hotel and Marbella in general. The Hotel is well situated in the old part of the city amongst some of the most esquisite little winding streets, a beautiful sight and a photo opportunity everywhere you turn. The beach is just a 5 minute walk from the Hotel and there are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets in the area.

This is a really nice hotel very close to the beach and the old town of Marbella. Parking is a nightmare around the area, but in terms of location this hotel is great. The staff were very friendly, and the hotel is on a quiet and picturesque pedetriansed street. Would recommend.

Biggest problem with area was lack of parking for rental car. Biggest problem with room was no place to unpack clothes--no chest, etc. so I lived out of my suitcase. Also, hotel was hard to find because I was expecting the address to be a street, not just a walkway. Overall stay was good, a good value, clean and friendly owners.

When being in urgent need for an accomodation in Marbella, i stumbled across Central on vevere.com and decided to give it a try - the reviews were favourable and it seemed nice. Once there, all expectations were fulfilled and we greatly enjoyed our stay there! The people running the place were more than friendly and we couldn't have hoped for anything better. Definitely wil return when in Marbella again. (Although probably we'd try to do it Sept-June to avoid the price increase in July/August by 20 Euros). All together, a huge thumbs up!

Our time at the hotel central was a real pleasure, the hotel really is immaculate and the couple who ran the hotel during our stay really could not do enough to make us welcome, should we ever visit Marbella again we would stay at the hotel central and would reccoment it to anyone !

Hotel Central is a lovely independently-owned property, fairly centrally located in a small side street lined with pots of ferns in Marbella, maybe four minutes walk from the beach. The service was wonderful and friendly, with the facilities far better than described on the webpage. The hotel's furnishings are outstanding: eclectic pieces chosen by the owners, creating a refined atmosphere whilst still being welcoming. Only negative - I didn't, in three days, find anywhere close by to eat an early breakfast, in spite of it being fairly central, although there are two small grocery/markets nearby to get that first orange juice of the day! I shall definitely stay at Hotel Central again.
