This is a very interesting hotel. It is about 30 minutes from downtown Malaga in the mountains. A beatiful spot, surrounded by nature and in the middle of nowhere. We traveled to a different town each day during our 4 night stay at the hotel so it was perfect. Very quiet. It is more like a lodge than a hotel with a large room downstairs with a fireplace and many couches for guests to relax and have a drink. The best part was the wild boars that come to the hotel in the evening after dark and are fed scraps from the restaurant. They are an entire family and they were amazing. The room was spacious and very quiet. Great night sleep! The food in the restaurant however was not memorable for dinner and we skippend the breakfast when I saw what they were serving. Much better food in restaurants in town. The white wine from Malaga in the bar is excellent! We had no problems finding the hotel as it is well posted from all directions. We arrived from Granada the first night however were coming and going from all directions during our stay. We also did a hike in the area which was great. You will need a car to stay at this hotel.

An excellent hotel for an overnight when travelling to or from the airport, but I wouldn't want to drive the access road in the dark. Charming staff and excellent, fresh, rustic food.
Would definitely stay again

Fantastic! You will need a car to go there, it is 18 kms far from Malaga, in the mountains (nearly 1000m high!). The hotel is so quiet that we saw wild boars in front of the hotel! The welcoming is very good!
I strongly recommand this hotel to all nature lovers!
There are many tracks for those who want to walk!

Having just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary we were desperate to get away and "chill out" - the Hotel enabled us to do that. Peace and tranquility was the order of the day which is exactly what we got. Well done

A fantastic location for a real 'get away'- reasonable quality local produce & wine excellent value.
Practical note - a 40 minute drive from Malaga Airport - try & get a 4wd taxi - the last 4km is on an unmade up road - some cabbies object to this!

L'hotel est très(trop?) tranquille car situé en pleine forêt, à près de 30 kilomètres de Malaga. Idéal pour ceux qui veulent se reposer mais pas vraiment pour ceux qui viennent pour passer du temps au bord de la mer.

We enjoyed our stay at Humaina thoroughly. The setting is magnificent and certainly worth the drive from Malaga. The people are pleasant, friendly and helpful. We recommend it as a great place to rest up for a few days before tackling the sights of Andalucia.
The Hotel is in a remote setting and much further from Colmenar than we were led to believe by various Internet accounts. It is actually much closer to Puerta del Leon and people arriving from the east might well think of driving up smaller but still quite good roads to get there through Puerta del Leon. Those driving from Malaga airport should be advised to follow the A-45 autoroute north as many signs no longer refer to the N-331. The blue signs may also say "Seville-Grenada" rather than Antequerra. The Hotel itself has done a splendid job of signing the way once you leave the main road, and no one should have any real difficulty. The delight of the setting makes it all worthwhile if they do.

Very clean hotel with helpful staff. Very difficult to find but well signposted once you come off the motorway at the right junction.
Very relaxing and reasonably priced food/drinks - although the menu is a little limited same menu for lunch and dinner.
Highly recommended for a couple of days relaxation!

Like all good things it was a little hard to find. Especiallyafter landing in Malaga airport at 23.30. The directions were very vague. Once we got there it was worth the search. The situation was fabulous and the hotel vey relaxing. The food was also very good and our stay was good value for money. The whole experience was just what we needed to wind down to a great holiday.

The hotel was beautiful and offered very good value for money. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the food on offer was first class. The only down side was the difficulty in finding the hotel. It would be useful to offer very clear written instructions on how to find it, because we got badly lost and may never have found the hotel were it not for a couple of kindly young Spanish guys who led us in the right direction.
