Preciados is a fine hotel but for some reason I didn't find it a great hotel -- I must admit it was my first time in Madrid so perhaps some of the more glowing reviews are from those who have more comparable experiences against which to consider their Preciados stays.

I stayed in a standard room for 3 nights, I wouldnt hesitate reccomending this hotel to anyone looking for a quality hotel in Madrid, the reasonable price is a bonus. The location is perfect, easy walking distance to callao metro, and walkable to anywhere in the city.
I will be staying here when I return to Madrid

This was a wonderful hotel, very modern and clean inside with a free mini bar and free wireless internet. The hotel far exceeded my expectations in everything, including design, decor, price, service and location. The hotel was located in the middle of 3 different subways as well. I will definitely be using this hotel for all my travels to Madrid. It was wonderful and the price is great, only 100 euros.

We went on a 8 day vacation trip in spain starting from madrid - to cordoba/sevilla - to granada and finished in barcelona.
Precidados was in a great location - very close to the metro station and all the major sights in Madrid. Some nice tapas bars closeby too. In our whole trip we thought it was the best quality for the price - a great deal
We were travelling with my 7 year old daughter and they gave the extra bed free, also there was a couple of computers where we could access internet freely(both of which which is not what we got in the rest of spain)
I would totally recommend it..

My husband and I absolutely loved this hotel. It was in the centre of a busy area, close to Gran Via and Preciados shopping street. We could walk to all the main tourist destinations, and it was very close to three Metro stations. Although it was busy around the hotel, the room was very quiet. Our room was absolutely delightful. It was comfortable, spotless, modern and the free mini-bar was a lovely touch. The breakfast was slightly expensive, but it was good and the service was excellent. There were two computers with free internet access to guests, which I liked. We would recommend this hotel to everyone!

This hotel was not just clean but super clean!
reception, all spoke good English especially the G.m. who was a great ambassador for his hotel of which he is certifiably proud.
like so many others,Icould not understand why
the hotel charged so much for breakfast-empty
restaurant and local coffee shops full!!

Nice clean quiet hotel. Seems to have been recently renovated. Very central. Max 30 minutes walk from everything of significance in old Madrid. Condensation/bubbling from A.C. a bit loud but not terribly so. Room smallish but bathroom very decent size. Room very clean. Great sound insulation from outside - at least on 4th floor. Corridors etc. very clean. Reception very helpful. Would I stay here again? Absolutely yes. Very good Spanish restaurant facing hotel entrance and good Italian restaurant beside hotel.

The Hotel was very clean and quiet. It was very central to the Peurta del Sol, only about 2-3 blocks away. The staff was friendly and someone always understood English. We were a traveling mature couple and really enjoyed Madrid. We could walk to all of the sights we needed to see. Oct 10-18 the weather was perfect, about 72-75* everyday.

While the room was very clean and modern - plus the bathroom was HUGE - there was no window. Also, on the first night after 32 hours of travel we were woken up by some wild commotion on the main staircase at 3:30am - sounded like a Spanish stag party or something. Area around hotel not the nicest (pizza parlours and kebab shops, paved city square with odd types hanging around) it was a short walk to nicer areas. Good location if you want to shop high street stores and quite convenient for sightseeing. SOME streets close by are rather seedy - but close to Gran Via that has to be expected - they were easily avoided without significant detour!

This hotel was within walking distance of everything. The staff was fantastic! On a day when my friend was expected at 10AM & I had left her a message, the staff was very concerned when I checked with them about 12 and she had not arrived. As soon as she arrived they told her how relieved they were and gave her the message immediately. Much of the staff spoke excellent English! Downside: breakfast not included and the buffet breakfast at the restaurant was overpriced. I would definitely stay there again if I return to Madrid.

We had a junior suite which was outstanding. Lots of space, 2 flat screen TV's large bathroom and balconies for every window. The service was wonderful with extra touches such as a free mini bar (limited selection but nice). The location is wonderful a very short walk to the major shopping area and to the Opera House, Royal Palace and the old quarter. We did not eat at the resturant but it looked lovely and always busy. The one small problem is our taxi driver did not know where it was and we had to ask and walk a bit upon arrival. Nice eating places close by but do stay away from the Italian resturant nearby- Tuscanny- terrible food.

Good location, easy access to metro Santa Domingo and Callao.Very quiet room, clean, smallish rooms for a 4 star.Free mini bar, which I have never had before. We paid €100 per night which was good value. No complaints. Happy to recommend.Bars and restaurants in the vicinity excellent ( Domingo's bar excluded - AVOID).

Excellent location and hotel - staff was very friendly and helpful, very clean, fairly new - overall great. The only thing it did not include was breakfast (which it should) and you had to pay 15 Euros at the restaurant adjacent to the property (and we did because of convenience) which was pricey for breakfast. Everything else was great and the price was very good for such an excellent and central location. Will definitely stay here again when we return to Madrid.

Everything was very good. The restaurant was also very good although a little bit expensive. The Internet service downstairs was not available the last three days of our stay of six nights. I would stay in this hotel again if I were to travel to Madrid in the future.

First time in Madrid - unfortunately 3 of 4 in my group came down with bronchitis. I was the sickest at that point in the trip. Outside window were trash receptacles - unsightly. Friends in other room complained of street noises and commotion. Location convenient.

I stayed for 3 nights in the Preciados hotel with a friend of mine and we both found it to be the most comfortable accommodation to have stayed in to date. Everything about hotel was perfect. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The soundproofing walls and windows helped for a peacefull sleep from the busy street below. The location of the hotel couldn't have been better and was central to all of the cities sights and shopping and a metro station was about 100 yards away. I really enjoyed my stay in Madrid and will definitely return and stay in the Preciados and have no hesitation in recommending it to anybody.

We were very impressed by Preciados! Location is just perfect, close to metro/shops/bars/restuarants/deli/supermarkets, in short, you can find what you need in the area.
All staff are well-trained and efficient. They did their best to make us feel at home. Room is in good size and clean (we stayed in a standard double). Although the hotel is in the very busy area, you wont be awoke at night since they installed double-glass window. Mini bar in the room offer free drinks, internet service (no worry if dont have a computer, they have two at their business centre on the ground floor) is free also.
We would definitely recommend Precidos and will stay there next time we visit Madrid.

Location! Location! Location! This was a great hotel in the heart of Madrid, close to shopping, Metro Stations, supermarket, etc. The room was newly remodeled and had a big bathroom with a sky light and a balcony. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There were so many restaurants close that we did not eat at the restaurant, but is was always full and the food looked good. I would look forward to staying here if I went back to Madrid.

Present for my Mum for her birthday. This is a 4* hotel with a 5* location & staff. Booked a double but they upgraded us to a twin with view, and only charged us for the double price room. Excellent.Loads of wardrobe space. Bathroom was spacious and constantly kept clean with new towels everyday. Location is brilliant - 2 mins from Gran Via, 4 mins from Puerta Del Sol (centre of Madrid) 6 mins from Plaza Mayor, 15 mins from Museum Prado, Jardin Botanico area.10 mins from Royal Palace. (walking) Use Madrid Vision (bus) you will get around and see most. Great value for money. Gran Via (shopping). You can book excurtions from hotel and they are great with advice and directions. All in all we had a great time and the hotel was excellent. Dont look any further, this is the hotel to choose.

A great hotel! Exactly where you want to be in Madrid if you are staying for the weekend. The staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful. While we didn't have any meals in the hotel, we did come back to the hotel late after a night out and requested some coffee for the room from reception. Although room service had finished five minutes later we got a tray of excellent coffee, hot and cold milk along with an array of different pastries. It didn't even appear on our bill! I'd definately recommend this hotel.

My wife and I visited Madrid for a 'long weekend'. The hotel, situated in the 'old quarter', is a good base to view Madrid. The staff were attentive, very polite and made up for our laziness with a good command of English. The room we had which was on the ground floor was very spacious including a large 'dinning/sitting' area seperate to the bedroom and the bathroom was also spacious and well appointed. The hotel restaurant, although we did not frequent on this occasion, appeared of a good standard and busy with customers (local). There are plenty of 'tapas' bars, shops within the immediate vicinity and an excellant fish restaurant nearby, albeit not cheap but afforded excellant choice and service on the night.
Overall, it was a very pleasant and enjoyable visit that was enhanced with good weather, good food and wine.

The hotel is great, and in a very good location for tourists. The main drawback applies only if you are driving. It is VERY VERY difficult to drive to the property because of the one way streets and heavy traffic. Parking is provided at an extra cost. Breakfast is good but also unless you are a marathon eater, not worth the price because there is no way you can eat enough to get your money's worth.

This was our third trip to Madrid in 6 months. We noticed the Preciados on our previous visit as being in an ideal location, very central yet on a quiet street in term of traffic. We were therefore delighted when to our amazement it had availability (just proves it's always worth checking on a regular basis as there must have been a cancellation).
The room surpassed our expectation, stylish contemporary, bright and airy with a secluded balcony. The rooms are properly insulated and you can't hear your neighbours or the outside world. There are also effective black out curtains. The bathroom had a rooflight providing natural light, great shower and double sink. The only problem is the door stop in the bathroom which is a real trip hazzard and toe stubber when the door is shut (bonus having so many towels to be able to use one as a marker to aviod it).
The staff were very friendly and efficient with perfect english.
It's worth the price and really does feel like a 4* hotel, we strongly recommend this hotel.
