Hotel AC Palacio del Retiro Madrid - Venere.com reception AC Palacio del Retiro is a Nationally Registered early 20th century building, situated in Madrid opposite the famous Retiro Park and in the middle of the Museum Triangle El Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofía.

The hotel opened in October 2004 and offers a stylish restaurant, 4 modern and fully-equipped meeting rooms, Internet access, a fitness centre, a bar, and a Wellness Centre with sauna, Jacuzzi, Turkish bath and massage service.

We loved this hotel. Striking modern design adaptation of a beautiful ornate old mansion, with intimate hotel feel. The staff was lovely and helpful, with maps, lots of recommendations, and great visitor advice. Location is fabulous, right on Retiro Park, a perfect place to spend the afternoon siesta. The hotel spa is a wonderful place to unwind at night. The rooms were spacious enough for a comfortable stay for an adult and two older teenagers. And the bathroom was so spare but luxe, we wanted to redesign our home bathroom to be just like it! One of the nicest hotels we've stayed in.

I think hotels of this calibre should just provide complimentary WiFi and stop this pay per hour or whatever bullshit. Room was nice and spacious; beautiful bathroom.

HOW TO REACH THE HOTEL

By underground
The nearest underground stations are Banco de España and Retiro (line 2).

By train
The nearest train station is Atocha you can easily reach the hotel by underground in 15 minutes getting off at Banco de España.

By airplane
From Madrid-Barajas international airport take the L8 pink line to Colombia stop. Once there, switch to L9 violet line towards Arganda del Rey and get off at Príncipe de Vergara stop, then switch to the L2 red line to Banco de España stop.
