Fabulous hotel!! We loved the pianoplaying in the grand livingroom after a day of sightseeing. Very charming and grand at the same time. We look for hotels with european character and this hotel surpassed all expectations in all catagories.

Hotel caters to business people.
Location is good, near train station and withing easy walking distance of old town, and especially major art museums.
Major complaint was noise coming from night club just across the street.

Its location was perfect to see the 3 important museums, central to the rest of the city, and was a few minutes walk to the Atocha metro stop. The room was also very pleasant and well taken care of all the 5 days I was there. I found the reception staff pleasant and helpful.I was totally pleased.
However I did have one criticism, and that was the lobby bar. I wished at times to sit here to eat a light meal. It was filled with nonstop cigarette smoke which I found unpleasant. The staff there was for the most part unfriendly, and gave bad service with a bad attitude. To place an order I had to go and find the menu and the waitress. The same was true when I wished to pay. Not one, except one young man, seemed interested in providing pleasant service. But this in no way ruined my stay, and I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Awesome hotel and amazing for the price. We checked in early at 8:00 AM after an overnight train and there was no problem at all. Very comfortable beds (although it was 2 singles pushed together), soft towels, great decor. Easy to find from the subway and right next door to the Prado.

This is really a nice hotel, qualified staff and most of them spoke english...good service and clean and big rooms.
Nice little hotelbar with very friendly staff...walking distance to almost everything, the prado museum is almost across the street and the senter of Madrid (plaza Mayor and Sol) is about 10 min walking distanse from the hotel.
This is a hotel i will recommend for all people going to Madrid.

Four working ladies on a city break. The location was excellent. Easy walking distance to all the art galleries and a ten minute walk from the shops. Didn't use public transport at all. Hallow'een night very noisy all night on streets and a club nearby but otherwise quiet. Would recommend the hotel. Lovely breakfast, try to have it included in the price as it is slightly expensive otherwise. Nice bar area for a quiet drink in the evening.

Hotel was very clean and neat. Decor was updated and modern. Room was very small, my guess 12'X 15', not including hall and bath. Rooftop terrace had 4 chairs and no view. The location is at one end of the Prado on a ho-hum street. Madrid was our last stop before coming home and while this hotel was the least desirable of the hotels we experienced, it was also half the cost of the next cheapest hotel we stayed in. It is a good value.

Well positioned, walking distance to centre of town. Only problem is the staff do not understand English, very hard to communicate, therefore they dont sort out any problems, except for the day we left, there was an australian gentleman that helped us. Otherwise hotel was good and clean

Hotel has a modern look, but quality of the building is IKEA-like --- looks great, but not high quality. We were disappointed by the lack of certain amenities in the room, such as an ironing board and iron, and shower products were below average for a 4 star hotel. Lobby was nice, with a bar and plenty of seating. Rooms were reasonably quiet given the downtown Madrid location. Might have seemed expensive to us due to the poor exchange rate with the US dollar.

Superb location. Stay ruined by drunken noisy latvians who invited female companions from o300 to 0700! Hotel moved us but into a very pleasant room noisy from traffic! Not interested in actually giving money off bill for ruined stay!

If you are in Madrid to see Madrid, then this is an excellent hotel to stay at. Very good location and excellent value for price. The hotel was very clean, modern, and stylish ... much more than what I was expecting from it.

Io ogni giorno andavo e tornavo a piedi.

Although this is, on the whole, an excellent hotel to stay in, my main complaint refers to the disagreement between the prices provided through the web and the actual cost, which was approximately 50% higher. Fortunately, the price/quality ratio is good enough, so the "surprise" can be afforded with no trouble... but with a slight disappointment, important enough to decide not to repeat the experience, in spite of the hotel's excellent facilities.

The rooms are lovely and the staff is very polite and helpful. The breakfast is a bit expensive but abundant. Location is wonderful with museums and all transportation just across the street. The wifi is not entirely reliable but there are terminals available in the spacious lobby.

New Hotel only open 9 months at our visit Sept06. General impression reasonable. Room had poor view( side street) but as we were only there 2 nights, not too important.
One gripe was the air conditioning in the room was too efficient when you were out. The moment the room was empty (key card removed) the air con went to auto from whatever setting you were on, so when you came back in the room was baltic. Probably quite pleasant when its 35-40c outside, but not so welcoming when its cloudy and 20c.!!We solved this by getting a second card from reception and left it in the
sensor when we went out. Devious or what?
Second gripe was the Internet wi-fi connection for my lap top, Its the first time Ive had to pay for it in a hotel. Not cheap at I think it was 6€ for 1 hour or about 14€ for a day.
Third gripe was the same about having to pay for parking.
Fourth gripe was when we came back at night after dinner out, as we are a pair of old fogies, we wanted a coffee and a wee relax in the bar area. Well, lets play spot the bar person.? A search party was put together by the very pleasant security guy who nornally wandered about the reception area looking important, employed to keep out the great unwashed and other tourists like us who were probably only looking for a coffee. On both evenings some 10 - 15 minutes passed before a member of staff appeared. We think he was either having a fly ciggie outside or as we would prefer to believe was actually serving someone in the adjacent dining room.
The coffee was actually well worth waiting for however.
On a more serious note for other potential guests the hotel is not dead centre but is within walking distance (uphill a fair bit) to the main shopping area. It is very comfortable and clean and the room we had was not massive but perfectly adequate with a nice bathroom. The reception staff were good. The inclusive breakfast was a nice varied buffet and was fine. Overall the stay was value for money in the Capital.
