Close to train station, but have to take a little tram down to the hotel(1.10CHF oneway). Can hear the tram running as it is right in the hotel and then church bells ringing off very early in the morning and then no window blind so was awake very early. Hotel seemed old, room was clean, nice friendly staff, and in good location. A little pricey, but maybe ok for Swizterland.

Hotel staffs are very good..language is not a cencern as they speak good english, italian, and french. So its very good for International tourists. But the bad part is the double bed room size which is very conjusted. Breakfast in the morning does not have anything good to mention. Not even good options.

For a Swiss hotel at this price, it was a really good deal. The location of the hotel is perfect. It is close to the shopping area and a short distance from the lake. The train that connects it to the train station is also very convenient. Although there have been some comments about the noise from the train, we had quite night sleep. Not a bit of noise. The breakfast was excellent. The room size was just nice for the four of us.

The rooms are typical for European hotels. The room was clean and bathroom was fine, however no airconditioning in August is uncomfortable. Also if you are a light sleeper, the funicular will keep you up late and wake you early.

This place O.K. The photos make the rooms look a bit nicer than they actually are. The hotel itself is very strange, it feels like an abandoned hotel. And we really didn't feel that it was worth what we were paying. I would not stay at this hotel agin.

Ask for room 511, has beautiful spacious terrace overlooking mountains, city & lake; $1 million view. Price on reservation was 128sf but was told that was for single, not couple. Price was 174sf. Room 511 is worth it

Good Hotel for a short stay. The funicular which is going literally through the building is making loud noise until midnight. But you can get used to it and maybe you can also ask for a more quite room. Nice Breakfast Buffet.

I spent one night at the Comfort Aquarello Hotel in Lugano, Switzerland. The location of the hotel was excellent; right next to the transport link from the railway station into the centre of Lugano.
The hotel was an ideal location for myself as a single female; everything was easily accesible.
The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The room was excellent for its purpose. It was clean and had everything I required.
Thank you!

This hotel was very nice and exceptionally clean. The staff was very friendly. The ease of access to the train station could not be beat, but there's a price to be paid for that location. The noise from the funicular was more than we expected and the room was very hot. Only a tiny fan was available to cool the room. I think we might choose a place a bit farther from the funicular if we were to go there again. Still, a nice hotel.

This is a nice hotel. The location is fantastic right near the main train station and in the middle of everything. The family who runs the hotel are very helpful and friendly. However, as you can see from the pictures of the hotel there is a funicular running through the centre of the hotel. We had a room near the track and while the hotel has installed block out shutters and made efforts to reduce the noise, it really is very loud. Enough to shake the walls. Note the funicular is active between 05.20 - 23.59 and is particularly active in the early morning rush hour leaving every 2 minutes or so. I liked the hotel, but could not recommend it unless you can get a room well away from the funicular track.

i was quoted 125 and when i got to the hotel i was told to pay 170. the cheating was of the hightest level. this was highway robbery. but since i was desperate i paid. this was a shame as i could have looked for another place for that price.

There is a definite gap between the prices quoted in the net and the actual charged. The case is the following :
Our family is of four people including two kids age 6 yrs. As such we have booked many hotels through your website where we have taken double rooms and have requested the hotels to provide one additional bed in the room. For cases where it is not possbile, the hotel communicates accordingly. In this case however, there was no communication leading me to believe that there is no problem in the same with this request (this was put as a remark to the hotel while booking the property through your site). But onreaching there I found that they charge CHF 60 (CHF 30 per kid for giving me one bed extra), this was ridiculous. I have already known my displeasure known to the hotel about this, but overall I couldnt do a thing and had to shell out the money.
On this account, I felt cheated.
Warm regards
Jayant

Nice familiar hotel, not expensive, considering the level of prices in the country, right in the city centre. Not indicated on maps and taxi driver did not know the place. In fact, it is just ten meters from the cable railway coming down from the station. Prospective guests should be told this: on the one hand, it is extremely convenient if you come to Lugano by train; on the other hand, light sleepers may be disturbed by the sound of the cars, which go up and down every few minutes until late in the night and from an early hour in the morning. I had a room just opposite the railway and found it a bit unnerving, though I went to sleep just the same. It should be possible to ask for a room at the other end of the building, where the railway is probably less heard or not at all.
Lugano goes to sleep very early and at 9 PMalmost all reastaurants are closed. It would be nice if light meals could be obtained at the hotel at least until 10 PM. There is a bar, but it seemed to attract only beer drinkers (very respectable and quiet ones, to be sure).
A good place to stay if you are in Lugano on business, and I shall stay there again.

Our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We were worried that the funicular would be very noisy but it was not too bad. The main problem we had at the hotel was that the rooms were very hot and an overhead fan would have made a difference. The reception area was rather scruffy but the staff were nice and for the price we paid we had no complaints
