The hotel is set in mature gardens which create peacful surroundings in which to relax.We only stayed bed and breakfast for one night but would definitely return in the future for a longer stay.

This hotel was a total surprise. Much nicer than on the pictures. Very nice room though not modernized for some time.Charming, peaceful and wonderful surroundings with beautiful garden and swimming pool. A longer stay worth.

From the price quoted, we expected a good hotel, but this hotel exeeded our expectations. The house is beatiful and interesting, and the service is friendly and professional, both at the reception and in the restaurant. We may return to Hotel Villa la Principessa.

If you are seeking tranquility in beautiful surroundings with a touch of the past then this is the place for you. I cannot think of one negative thing to say about this place. The staff were friendly and helpful, the building, the interior and the gardens were a joy, Lucca a mere skip away and the railway station close by to take you to wherever you choose to visit. I would love to return every single year, such was the impression the Villa left on me.

Enjoyable stay---window in first room small and claustrophic however room was changed without any fuss----breakfast buffet for a hotel of that status could have been better.Extras such as tea and drinks from the bar were greatly overpriced

The property was lovely, it would be helpful to let people know that it is a cab ride away from the walls of Lucca and more remote than most people want. I loved it since I have been to Lucca many times before and enjoyed the change.

We really really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is beautifully situated in wooden grounds with a splendid pool, much needed in the heat. The public rooms are elegant and spacious, the bedrooms comfortable and spotless - celan linen daily, fresh fruit etc. We had two delicious dinners there, one especially early so we could get over to Torre del Lago for hte opera in time, sitting out under huge umbrellas in the garden. Free internet access for emails in reception. It is a great hotel - we'd go back anytime.

We were very pleased with out stay. Sylvia who welcomed us was extremely helpful both then and the next day when she booked us reservations for museum in Florence.... It was a very pleasant stay.. we will be happy to recommend the hotel.

Villa Principessa is the perfect way to end your time in Tuscany, its the ideal place to relax by the pool after a hectic few days sightseeing. The grounds, the pool, the public lounge areas are truely luxurious; as was the bedroom. Although we had a standard room it was still wonderful although the bathroom was very disappointing; similar to what you would find in a 2 star rather than 4 star hotel. The only other thing was the lack of flexibility regarding a late check out on our final day; we only requested an extra hour and this was refused; despite the fact that the hotel was half empty. Apart from this it is wonderful, romantic and peaceful - even by the pool! Go there an spoil yourself!

We did not like the place, and cut our visit short. Staff was very unwelcoming, and it seemed that the place was posted with too many rules--couldn't swim after 6:30PM etc. We decided that we'd have more fun in town, so we moved. Although there did not seem to be anyone staying in the hotel, our room was very very noisy because we could hear every sound in the adjacent room. Would not recommend, and for the price was very disappointed.
