Decent hotel a short walk away from the Victoria train station. Rooms were recently renovated and clean, though the bathrooms were pretty small. It looked and felt similar to an airplane or RV bathroom. Quiet, did not hear neighbors. Rooms had good amenities. Breakfast was included in room fee, and was delicious, though there was a line, because they seat you themselves and there were many people in the hotel. Get there early.

Family with 3 boys (11, 14 and 16 years old) for a 3 nights tourist stay in London, February 2006.
Very convenient location, you can reach Victoria station in less than 15 minutes by step, and even Hyde Park, Buckingham, Westminster in less than a one hour walking tour.
Surrounding is quiet, but you may find several small restaurants of various styles at a very good quality vs price rate around the corner.
The hotel staff is arranging, the breakfast a real English one.

The location is great, it is easy walking distance to Victoria Station and there is a bus stop out front. I felt safe walking around alone at night and there are restaurants and coffee shops within a few blocks. While my single room was very small, it was comfortable and clean and adequate to my needs.

Accoglienza: molto british, freddina e formale.

The location was excellent very convenient to bus service and many attractions -- also good restaurants, laundries, groceries... The rooms were very small and cramped and the initial room very hot. In the first room, we had to move one of the beds to get into a tiny bathroom. There were no towel racks in the bathrooms so no place for wet towels. There was no hook on the bathroom door in the second room that we moved to so no place to hang clothing. Towel racks and hooks would be so easy to add. The second room we were in had a ceiling fan so the temperature was okay but the windows had to be open and it was noisy. The breakfast was good but on weekends, it was very crowded at the end of the breakfast period and difficult to get in -- perhaps should extend hours on weekends and holidays. The people at the desk were very helpful for the most part, but the response to the report of a broken elevator did not give me confidence that anything would be done about it. The elevator door closed with people standing in the doorway and did not retract as it should have -- very dangerous.

Buone vacanze!

After spending 2 weeks staying in rather sub-par 2 star hotels, the Hotel Sidney was a welcome break. A great little 3 star hotel located close to Victoria Station and great little restaurants. If you don't mind the walk, it is not far to London center and will save you the underground fare. The hotel staff were courteous and helpful and the inclusive english breakfast was great! I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to friends. Rooms are not huge but had enough space and a nice ceiling fan for the hotter days. No complaints. Also received a much better rate on Venere.com than if we had booked directly with the hotel.

With luggage, the hotel is 10-15 minute walk from Victoria on a street full of similar hotels. There are a few nice restaurantes and cafes nearby. Its a nice area.
Hotel desk staff was not very helpful, they didn't seem to know the area. Nice lobby bar. We had a family sized room on the basemenet floor, with no AC and no lift from the Lobby. The room had an airplane sized bathroom, but it was clean. Breakfast was nice, but closes at 9:00 AM which seemed too early. London is expensive, so this was a decent value for the money.

Well located near Victoria Station, bus 24 stops out front, great breakfast, room needed some updating but overall clean and comfortable, staff was helpful...in a quiet, safe area of town...be sure you head out of the tube to eccleston bridge road or you could wind up on the wrong road at first like we did

We had 2 rooms for one night for my mother and I and my Aunt and Uncle to see some London sights before flt back to USA. The rooms appeared bright and newley refurbished as was the rest of the interior, the ensuite bath rooms were new, modular, functional but very tight fit. Hotel situated on a quiet side street within a mile of Victoria station. There was a local bus stop in front which was convenient for transport to victoria station. As it was Friday night I parked my car on the smaller side street loading the parking meter til 6PM then parked free till our dept Sat am. Nice cosy bar near reception, friendly helpful staff, even let me print out our airline boarding passes from the reception computer for free! Expensive by US standards especially with the historically poor exchange rate but quite reasonable for our purpose of a good nights sleep and a base to do some sightseeing from. We had a meal in the Churchill Pub opposite Victoria station which was surprisingly reasonably priced with bountiful fare. ALL in all good value for money and perfect for our short stay. (A bit hard to find initially due to some one way streets and most of the buildings being of a similar construction and look.) You probably wont be driving though!

This Hotel is in a safe area in a Hotel row with and easy walk N to Victoria Station or S to Pimilco Station. The doubledecker bus stops right ouside the front door. We had 8 people divided into 2 rooms 309 & 409. The rooms were very clean. Showers were strong and the hot water was plentiful. The breakfasts were very good and plentiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Per una vacanza breve è l'ideale. Ottima posizione, servito benisssimo dai mezzi pubblici: il bus 24 che ferma proprio davanti porta direttamente in centro. Ottima colazione.

My only comment to make is that the lady who checked us out at the end of our stay had an extremely sour face - a smile, a thank you or even an acknowledgement would have done. She was rude and shouldn't be working on a reception.

Composed of 2 adults and 2 children, the family room were typically londonian (means small) but very useful. I advice this hotel for every family. the location is close to the main museum. It exists a family room for 5 or 6 persons.
It was a great trip

This is an excellent choice for a budget hotel in London. It seems that the hotel has recently undergone renovations, because all the public spaces have a new and more modern feel than the website images suggest. Although the room was small (it is budget after all), the furniture was new and high-quality. Just be aware that the hotel is a bit of a hike to central London, so be prepared to use the underground. All in all, the staff was very friendly and the free full English breakfast made for an unbeatable package.

The room was small, as expected in London, and quiet which was a bonus. The hotel is a short walk (10 mins) from Victoria tube station. Pimlico is closer, but most often would have meant changing lines to get where I wanted to go.
There was construction going on in the lobby while I was there, but that was only between 9 and 5, so it didn't inconvience me at all.
The food was ok - pretty much the same as what I've had everywhere else in Britain. They had a selection of cereals along with the usual sausage, egg, bacon etc.

Siamo state in 5 in una stanza. Ci aspettavamo una stanza piccola invece c'era molto spazio e siamo state bene.

Ciao!

the room (single ensuite) was extremely narrow and overheated (it was impossible to switch the heating off). I had to sleep with open window (in november!) but, since the street below is very noisy, I did not sleep at all.
Nevertheless, the service offered by the hotel staff was good and the breakfast too.

The hotel was ok for sleeping in , breakfast finishing at 9.00am is a bit daft as not every one is up by 9am. Also no residence bar, arrived back to hotel at 12.30 on Sat night and told the bar was closed but could have spirits only. Not good enough.

This hotel provided good value for money in a nice area of London. We were given a family room in the basement, which did suffer from overhead noise. There was damage to one of the walls, where a door handle had been slammed into it, which did not give a good impression. However, the room, was clean, spacious and comfortable. We would stay in the Sidney again, but it is not the hotel for you if you are looking for a luxury break. If you do stay in the Sidney try Grumbles restaurant near by, it is excellent.
