The rooms are very small and unconfortable, the heather where aut of order (I did not ask to change room because I've seen people "migrating" for the same problem twice during the week-end) and aon monday, when I asked why the water was cold, the lady of the reception answered me that on monday hot water is available after 9-930?

I had really a bad experience with Ambassador Hotel. When I arrived at the check in there was an overbooking. Moreover the reception service of the Ambassador was really a nightmare for supporting in find another hotel.
I would strongly suggest to leave out Hotel Ambassador from your list of hotels available for booking.

The hotel presents itself as a 3.5 star hotel on the Venere website. However, this hotel has a much lower standard than you would expect. The beds are absolutely horrible, and you can feel the bedsprings biting into your back and ribcage when you try to sleep. The staff were VERY rude when we arrived, and demanded payment before they let us into our rooms - if I had seen the rooms first I would have not payed! The rooms are AWFUL. VERY VERY LOW STANDARD, bad paint, horrible beds, ugly bathrooms with rusting metal taps and handles that appear not to have been renewed since 1975 at least. The furniture in the rooms is also lacking - there is no refrigerator and there are NO CHAIRS to sit in - only the AWFUL bed which is impossible to sleep in. There are some bookshelves that look like they were made by some 12 year old in his backyard. The TV was tiny, only 10 inches or so and they only had four channels on it - one of which was a channel that only showed japanese wrestling 24 hours a day. All in all I have to say this was an awful experience and I am never coming back to this hotel ever again. The staff were rude, and the rooms are hugely overpriced - you can get similar hotels for half the price. This hotel should only have 1.5 or 2 stars at the most. Absolutely ridiculous service and the staff are angry Russians who can't speak proper English.

I am a great believer in "you get what you pay for" which is why I expected a basic hotel for the price I paid. What I did not expect was the lack of basic manners and a tidy appearance from the staff, particularly the reception staff and a bathroom not caked in mould or rust. Our window was also sporting a huge crack and would not shut properly which would be fine during the height of summer but Guy Fawkes night???
As I was using my car I thought it best to ring ahead to find out about onsite parking. The receptionist informed me there is none and was not aware of anywhere else I could park. After asking to speak to someone who may be a little more informed I was told that I could park in the Holiday Inn hotel near by. Unless you go by the name of Al Fayed with the bank balance to match I would advise against this as you will be charged £30 per day. Unfortunately I was not informed of this beforehand and was charged £7 for driving into the carpark, reading the charges board and driving right back out again. I then had to spend the next hour negotiating ring roads and manic taxis to find a parking space which are mainly permit holders only!
Like I said, for the price I paid I did not expect the Hilton but I do expect basic manners, standards of cleanliness and information. Unfortunately this was too much to ask of the Ambassadors.

Quality of room was about what you would expect for how cheap the room was. the place could use a little renovation but it is a passable place to stay. The walls are a little thin but wasn't a big problem. Is only a 5 min. walk to Earls Court tube station. Also there is a sainsburys on the next block which is very handy. overall a good deal.

As walkers of the Thames path we found this hotel cheaper and more comfortable than some of our B&B's along the way. Bedroom was however too warm and we did not seem to have control of this.

The stay was according to our expectations. The room was really small, escpesially since we had three beds in it.
There were cracked tiles in the bathroom, and the airsupply to the bathroom could have been much better.
The sainsbury's nearby was a good way to get nice breakfast.

It was OK for the price (in London) although not up to the standard of American hotels in the same price range. We did have ensuite baths. The bed was barely adequate and gave me a backache, but the linens were clean. They forgot our wakeup call but the alarm clock worked. Great location, though, with grocers, restaurants, Tube & bus, etc. nearby. Don't use their Internet station in the lobby. It was expensive and slow! We booked last minute--in future we would probably try for at least a three star.

Not a bad hotel, a decent value. Good location not far from the Earl's Court tube station but very noisy hallways. Many kids were on holiday during my stay and the noise in the halls was quite bad. I had a single room and the space was adequate. Lots of closet space for clothes and personal items.

A very small twinroom. A loud street in front of the hotel and windows who don't stop the noise! The bathroom is very old and a bit mouldy. This should not be in a 3 star hotel.
The staff at the reception wasn't very friendly at checkin, but at the checkout the staff was friendly.

The room (001) was damp. There was mould on the walls. There was no hot water for bath or shower, despite reporting the problem on the afternoon of our arrival. there was no-one in authorithy available to get anything done. toilet roll holder was off the wall. We have emailed the hotel direct with our concerns but have not yet received a response.

When we checked in the room (TRPB) on first floor was not acceptable - broken shutters,no shower curtain and the heating system was not working. We had to do with a portable heater that we got from the reception.
But the next day they changed our room to a higher floor which was much better! We stayed 3 nights and the Continental Breakfast was serviced well. Value for money!

Room very small, but price compared to room excellent. Booking via Venere much cheaper - 50% less. Room noisy due to traffic, but inside hotel quiet. Excellent and sufficient breakfast, employees friendly and helpful. Would stay there again at any time.

Rooms are dirty (stains on the walls, don't look at under your bed..., lousy carpet full of dirt), and not spacious, we had to jump over the bed to reach the window, to climb onto the toilets to close the door of the bathroom (not for fat people, neither for pregnant women);Few drops were coming out from the shower, they said they were going to fix it, so we had some more drops; if you stay several days, do not expect they will clean your bedroom neither give you clean spoons nor clean cups. People put they garbage in the corridor whose wall falls apart and in which you can smell meldew or powpow, it depends where you are. Doors slam all the time (have a good night!). Breakfast is also awfull, water is added in the milk and inthe juice, and if you dare take cooked food (if that can be said cooked), they will charge you 2,50 pounds. We saw employees drinking as the time they where supposed to help us for breakfast (Bristish style?????). I have never seen such a lousy place for such a price (they charge 115 pounds for a triple room!!!!). By the way, if you book through Venere and want to change something (number of people, type of room), you must do it through Venere, because even if they have available rooms they say they can not do anything on their own.

On arriving to the room we discovered the window was broken, the blind was split, the radiator wasn't working on a weekend when the temperature had dipped to -3 degrees, so we were supplied with an electric heater that had to be plugged in at the foot of the bed as there were no other power point available, this prevented us from being able to walk around the bed or being able to use the dressing table area.
But the worst was yet to come when we discovered the hot water tap in the bathroom didn't work. The reception sent up an engineer that didn't have a clue what he was doing and actually admitted to this. Nearly half an hour later he somehow managed to fix the tap but admitted he didn't know how he had done it. Consequently the tap continued to drip throughout our stay (two nights only, thank goodness). We did try and request another room but where told none were available. On top of this the decor of the hotel is in need of drastic action, the carpets are filthy and everything looks shaby, battered and broken.
At breakfast you are asked if you would like to upgrade to a full english, don't bother, the food was cold and there is no bacon on offer. Keep your money and go to the cafes around the corner instead.
Our friends also stayed at this hotel with us and had a similar experience, they couldn't walk around the bed as the room was far too small, there room again was dirty and shabby throuhout and in need of redecoration, and what is the furniture all about. What a complete waste of space.
I am awaiting a letter from the Manager of the hotel in resonse to the questionaire I filled out on my departure. I won't hold my breath.

We booked a double room with private bathroom. It is on the top floor, which is really crowded. The room is tiny and noisy. It is not far from public transportation and restaurants. But, one of the clerks gave us wrong information about underground subway, which created a lot of comfusion. We finally cleared the problem ourselves.
Overall, it is ok for a short stay.

This has been my third stay at this hotel. It is central, comfortable and clean. The staff appear to respect privacy and therefore as a base this is a good place to stay. It is not the Ritz, but there is good value for money.

The hotel is halfway between two Underground stations, so it is a great
starting point to visit London.
The room was clean, but oppressively small. Moreover, the furniture was
extremely poor, and there was only one metre between the window and the
wall of the adjacent building.
On the positive side, continental breakfast was good and very abundant,
and the people were always gentle and helpful.

We found the hotel excellent and in a good location. The bedrooms are a little on the small side and ours was overlooking a road, so a bit noisy, but on the whole, a good hotel in London.
