It's a perfect place to visit London. The place is close to everything (Picadilly, Leicester, Trafalgar, Soho, ChinaTown,...). You can go to everyplaces just walking. The room is a little small but comfortable. If I return, I'll book the same hotel.

On checking in informed that air conditioning had failed and I was moved to Shaftesbury Kensington. Staff helpful but journey poor. Whole point of staying at original hotel was its location. Comments are with respect to Shaftesbury Kensington hotel

great location, Spacious room, good facility provided in room, but the LCD tv is sometimes affected by electricity appliance and the mouse is not working for internet. overall, it's a good hotel to stay in. i will choose it if i go to london again.

Taking into consideration the "costs/ bennefits" aspects, my stay in Hotel Best Western Premier Shaftesbury can be considered as very interesting and I would be back there if I am back to London. I asked two times to the reception people to check the internt acess through TV set available at the room and to disconnect the heater available at bath room (it was very hot in London during my stay there ) but I go NO reactions for their side to fit said devices accordingly. I needed and asked for reception/ concergiery people to provide me with two (half litters) bottles of mineral water ( like the ones available at minibar when I arrived to my room there) but it was impossible to find, at least one, at the hotel at that day.Even I assisted the door man to look for it on different places of the hotel. On the next day again, despite of new request from my side, I could not have bottles of mineral water inside the minibar of my room. So, Hotel empployees need to be a little bit more trainned, for efficiency and be little bit more polite with the customers. Congratulation for the perfect Venere Reservation system which worked properly.

Maybe I just started off on a bad foot. For the first time ever my reservation through Venere was cancelled (and I did e-mail them to confirm and had their confirmation number.) I had to insist to be checked in, staff was non caring, unfriendly and it did not improve the 4 days I stayed there. Room very small but adequate. Will not go there again, not worth the money

Two adjoining rooms were requested; directions were poor and we arrived late Saturday night to find that we were allocate three rooms, one double and two singles, hardly acceptable for a family of 4 (two young teens).

l'hotel è sicuramente in una zona strategica, oserei dire nel cuore di Londra. Comodissimo sia per gli spostamenti a piedi, che per prendere la metropolitana.

Fine location near Piccadilly. Our room was nice enough; a good bargain for the area. Reception was cordial and staff helpful and friendly, although the public areas are a bit dowdy. Overall, however, a nice solution for a moderate budget.

I FOUND THE RECEPTIONIST BEHAVOUR ON ARRIVAL MOST DISCONCERTING. ALTHOUGH HE HAD MY ROOM BOOKING HE INSISTED THAT MY BOOKING WAS FOR A ROOM ONLY AND THE COST OF BREAKFAST WAS EXTRA -FORTUNATELY I HAD A PRINT OUT OF MY CONFIRMATION WITH YOURSELVES WHICH CONFIRMED THAT THE PRICE I WAS QUOTED INCLUDED BREAKFAST. BUT IT DID CAUSE UNEASYNESS AND A LOT OF WHISPERING FROM THE STAFF, WHICH I FELT WAS MOST UNPROFESSIONAL. IN THE MORNING DIFFERENT STAFF ON RECEPTION TRIED TO CHARGE ME AGAIN FOR BREAKFAST AND I HAD TO GO THROUGH A SIMILAR PROCEDURE. THE STAFF IN THE RESTAURANT WERE VERY PLEASANT AND HELPFULL AND OVERALL EVERYTHING ELSE WAS AS ADVERTISED - BATHROOM WAS ON THE SMALL SIZE AND NO TOILETRIES APART FROM LIQUID SOAP.

The hotel is close to Piccadilly Circus, the rooms are very clean with the lcd tv in the bathroom and fine Villeroy & Boch tea cups in the room. The serivice is good; if you have to call a taxi or book a resturant you're sure to find an helpful hand.

No hot water was available in the morning due to a "breakdown" I got the impression this was not the first day. It would have been simple to advise us when we booked in. This did spoil an otherwise excellent stay.

This hotel is very central to many theatres and transport network. There are also some good ,reasonably priced restaurants close by. Reception staff were extremely courteous and helpful.

Las habitacónes son las más pequeñas que he visto en mi vida, pero están muy bonitas decoradas. El sitio es fantástico para conocer Londres sin usar apenas transporte.

Superb location. The room was too little, but ok for one night. This detail should appear in the hotel info provided. The cleaniness of the room can be improved. Very cooperative personnel at the reception.

Rooms are extremely small and with 99 Pounds very expensive! The aircon leaked at night and water was dripping on my bed! Location near Leicester Square is good, but also noisy if you open the window. Next time I will look for a better place.

The room and the service were adequate but very sub-standard for the prices charged. For a smaller charge I would have received better service, with breakfast included, for at least £100 less at several West End hotels of equal or better quality. As I travel to London a lot on business and for pleasure I use good quality hotels on a regular basis. I shall no longer be inclined to try Best Western after this over-priced experience.

Stayed in november 2004 with my family. Friendly staff, good service. Nice rooms and standard, although the room were a bit smaller than expected (we stayed in a double executive). The traffic could also bother some people. But we think both size and (the poorer) quietness of the rooms was highly acceptable. The great location of the hotel made up for this. We would highly recommend the hotel, and wouldn't mind staying there again.

The room itself was nice apart from the main light not working, but the hotel did give us complementary breakfast, the room size for a junior suite, was not what i expected, i thought that it would be much bigger than that. The location was fantastic, overall would definately stay there again.

Overall rating would have been excellent except for an incident when I asked for a taxi to be called for my departure to Victoria Station. When I arrived I was informed that the fare was more than 10 pounds in excess of the normal taxi fare because I the front desk personnel had called a limo. I feel that this was deliberate because I asked for a taxi and was not informed that a limo would be called. This incident ruined what would otherwise have been an excellent stay. The hotel was great. The low quietness rating is because my room was next to a restaurant or club that was active until about 3:00 a.m. but that did not bother me as much as the taxi because there was a second door which mostly blocked the noise.

Very Good location for the West End and Oxford Street. Looks a little run down from the outside but comfortable and clean once inside. All rooms appear to be air conditioned which was very much a bonus for the weekend we stayed was very hot and humid. I would stay there again.

Great location. Attentive staff. The renovated breakfast room is attractive. But nothing in the hotels description did it say the hotel was being renovated!!!No hot water one day. No elevator in service after the first day and construction, including jack hammering, going on all day.

I have written a long letter to Best Western Hotels in the United States telling how unhappy I was with my stay at the Best Western Shaftesbury in London. The room I had, 506 on the fifth floor, was 15 feet long by six feet wide, had no room even for a chair. The window blinds didn't work and the room was perpetually night. My requests for this and other things to be corrected were ignored. I found the price excessive for my "cell" room. I found the antique elevator a hazard and frighteningly small. I have stayed in many Best Western hotels with satisfaction. This was the one exception, I hope never to experience again. The front of the hotel was boarded up and nothing like the picture shown. The banging and clanging by the workmen in the basement - for what reason nobody would tell me - was continuous. It was amazing how the staff, immediately there was a complaint, suddenly found it difficult to understand English. I am writing a story about my stay for a Canadian national newspaper and am considering sending it to the London Daily Mirror where my stories, all good until now, have been printed many times. I hope this review keeps everyone away from the Shaftesbury. I believe I should be given my £356 back! Even then I would still have nighmares.

Great location if you are going to theatres. We could walk to every show! Construction was happeneing while we were there, so a bit noisy from all of that, but hopefully that will be over soon. Room smelled liked stale smoke, and there were stains on the furniture, but can't beat the location! And the conceigere was very nice and helpful!!
