Well, I need to say employees were all nice, kind and very helping. I have to thank all of them one by one. The rooms are quite small but absolutely clean. Well, it's noisy because of all restaurants around, tourists coming and going all the time... but I've slept very well all nights.:) The breakfast in my view was good. I still think the price was a bit high, but anyway, this is London and the service was good. You have access to metro, buses and Taxis very easily. An internet cafe is just on the other side of the street, and all kinds of restaurants are around. Bank and post office are also near. Overall, in comparison to the price you pay, this is a good hotel, yes, I'll come back there.

very clean rooms, 30 second walk to paddington station which is within a 10 minute ride to most major locations in London. Noise from the station was never an issue, beds were clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful with providing tickets to the wax museum and were on time with the wake up calls. Only issue was the tiny rooms and tiny bathroom, but thats typical of London hotels.

Good straightforward hotel offering no more and no less than it promises. Price is reasonable and it is conveniently located for Padddington Station. I have stayed before and will likely stay again.

My room was extremely tiny! I've never seen such a small room ! The bathroom was extremely tiny. I was not able to have a shower because of missing of space! Moreover, the room was very noisy because of cars and people shouting all the time. The only positive thing was the position, close to Padding Station but that is not a problem in London. In conclusion, I don't recommend this hotel for your staying in London. Too expensive for what you get!

The room was facing the garbage dump of the Burger King with all sorts of fumes coming through. Close to Paddington station so one can feel the rattling of the trains going by from 5am until 2am. The toilet facility in the room was makeshift with a molded garbage can and even when I informed them to remove it, it was still there.
Let's just say this is a hostel, good for hitch hikers travelling around who need a room for one night.

Personnel doesn't smile, except nice lady working at reception desk, the night clerk and boy at breakfast. Rooms are small and old, but very clean ( most important thing ), the hotel is so close to tube station and bus stops. By the way I would come back to this Hotel.

Room itself was not too bad, but the bathroom was really very very small. We have stayed in many hotels over the years, but this one is the smallest we have seen (like being in a caravan).
For breakfast you could choose between a continental or English breakfast. Both ok.
Underground Station Paddington is only a minute away and there are enough restaurants around the hotel for dinner.

Excellent location for travelers; very close walk to Paddington station/Heathrow Express. The twin room we stayed in was small with a tiny shower room, but very clean. Breakfast area is charming, but the included breakfast is not great. Desk staff were friendly and extremely helpful.

Tiny hotel but comfortable. Breakfast not abundant (no buffet) but you can choose between English or continental breakfast. Cleanliness regular with change of bed sheets and towels.
Its very quick and near to Paddington Rail Station and tube station, a lot of fast foods and steak houses near the hotel.

Very reasonably priced for triplet room during peak season and staff were very accomodating. Breakfast is included in the price and is served at your table. Reception is manned 24 hours a day so there is no problem with coming back late after gigs, shows etc.

We had a good time! Nice spacious room, good beds and a nice bathroom. We were not bothered by noice from the train station even though we had the windows open at night.
Nice breakfast room and friendly staff.
Only comment: We were asked to pay for the entire stay when checking in, which was not mentioned anywhere when we booked the room. However, as there were no problems during the stay we didn't pursue the matter. Nice hotel, would come again :-)

The smallest and most terrible bathroom I have ever seen. You actually cannot call that a bathroom, it was smaller than the closet and water was also coming up, toilet not working well. At first the light was not working in the bathroom also and telepnone not working the whole time. TV very poor quality and without remote control. And the worst thing - the room was smelling after some chemicals which made us dizzy and noone paid any attention to this - seemed that some chemicas were spayed against the insects outside our window.

This hotel was okay for a short stay of 1-2 nights, but would not be okay for a longer stay. The location was very convenient, being close to Paddington station. The room was small and the bathroom was very, very, very small! And it was up a step or two which made it potentially dangerous.

The location is great and the breakfast very good but our room was small and noisy as the train tracks from Paddington were nearby. I could only open my suitcase if it was on the bed. I had requested a double room but got a twin. However, for London on a budget it is probably the best around. I just made another reservation for this years trip

The Royal Nofolk could work on their hospitality towards their customers. It sometimes felt like we bothered them by asking for the key! Otherwise, the location was perfect and the room was ok. It was my first stay at the RN.

I have nothing good to say about this hotel. From the moment I arrived the assistant made me feel unwelcome, I had heavy luggage which there was no one offering to help me with. To get to my room I had to travel to the 4th floor in a carpeted box which felt terribly un safe only to find I had to climb across the roof of the building to reach my own personal hell hole. The room(?) was litterally a bed and a wardrobe with about 2feet of space to manouvre in. It smelt like what I can only describe as an old man that had wet himself before dying in front of a fire. It was fly infested and provided no heating or hot water. Bathroom facilities provided dirty cracked tiles, mould in the grouting and towels that were 60 years old. The entire premises looked to have had no evidence of any maintanance carried out since the 1900's. I felt thoroughly unsafe throughout the night in this rikerty old building and did not sleep a wink for shivering. I arrived very late and very tired to this hotel/squat and was unable to find any other accomodation at this time, otherwise I would have fled. Never would I wish this experiece upon anyone. The pictures shown on the website are cleverly presented to disguse the hotels appauling state. I advise you to stay away.

Hotel staff can't find my booking when I checkin. Finally they gave me the room without window and it was a smoking room which was so disgussing! The set-up of the hotel is poor as too many different sections and narrow stairs which not convenient to carry large luggage to the room. Overall experience was very poor and would not recommend others to stay.

I have stayed in dozens of hotels in London over the years, usually depending on the areas in London I am primarily interested in, whether it be sightseeing, shopping, visiting friends, etc. I have never had a worse experience than at the Royal Norfolk. The elevator wasn't working (I don't think it had worked for years). I had recently had knee surgery and decided not to let that postpone my vacation. I chose the hotel because of its location and because it had an elevator. My single room was tiny, which isn't a big problem. The carpeting was extremely dirty and stained. My bed had only the bottom sheet and a stained comforter. I asked for an additional bed sheet and slept without the comforter. The bathroom was one corner of the room and the shower was dirty. There was a sign on my door to make sure my door and window were locked when unoccupied. My window didn't lock. I told the manager upon arrival that I couldn't carry my luggage up the stairs and was told I would "have to wait 2 hours until a porter arrived" (this was at 3:00 in the afternoon). My breakfast was fine as I chose the corn flakes and yogurt. Those who chose the cheese and ham got the one slice of cheese wrapped in cellophane. Those who opted for the English breakfast could only have their eggs done one way. Unbelievable. Obviously, I would not recommend this hotel if I were paid to do so! Best to stick to tried and true hotels.

We lived on the thrid floor, the elevator was out of order, we had to sit in the hallway to wait for a waiter to give us a table for 15 minutes even when we saw 5 avalable tables when we came in. the room were way too small and the bathroomfacilities even smaller.

We stayed at the Royal Norfolk on the first night and the last two nights of a european vacation in July 2006. The first night, we were in a VERY tiny room (only one suitcases could be opened at a time) and the last nights the room was significantly bigger. bathrooms could be much better (toilets need to be flushed a few times, shower is a tiny in corner in the bathroom). There's no A/c but the windows open widely to let a breeze in. Couldn't be closer to paddington station! so convenient! Although the price was high for these accommodations compared to other cities, i think it would be hard to find better in london. breakfast is served by two waitresses (cheese and ham or corn flakes + tea/coffee + toast is included or you can upgrade to the englihs breakfast...not recommended!!!!) At the reception, you can buy tickets to sightseeing tours, and there are lots of info brochures as well. There is a lift, but unless you are in a very specific part of the hotel, you will have to go up and down many sets of stairs to reach your room....lots! both rooms had alarm clocks, phones and tvs. beds were comfortable. i would stay here again, and would recommend it to others, but warn them not to set their expectations too high. in the same neighbourhood are many other hotels featured on many budget hotel websites. compared to the others we walked by, this one looked like the nicest one (when we compared prices online, they all had about the same rate).

Our first impressions of our room was that it was too small for two persons. The bed filled almost the entire room.
We also quickly noticed how filthy it was. There was dust all over, particularly in the window post and bathroom. Red wine or something similar was spilled both at the window post and the shelf under the mirror at the bathroom.
The dining-room was always full and the queue outside was a bad joke. The breakfast was nice, but wasn't really worth the long wait.
Our impression of the staff was that it consisted of inexperienced workers, mostly foreign students working there for the summer. Their knowledge of the surroundings was very lacking. Our room was supposed to be ready at 13:00, it wasn't.
As the temperatures were high during our stay (up to 40 degrees celsius) air condition was sorely lacking, thus making it necessary to have the window open at all times. This meant that noise from the street and Paddington Station was heard constantly. There could at least have been a fan there, either standing or mounted in the roof.
The advertised number of TV-channels was a pure lie. We had five (5) TV-channels, but NO REMOTE CONTROL.
The WC was broken at the time of arrival, but with a bit of hassle it would eventually flush.
The shower was not made for tall people and a thorough cleaning was clearly needed.
The luggageroom was so tiny and cramped that it was a big undertaking getting luggage in or out.
It would be a big lie to say that this hotel met our expectations in any way.
If there is anything positive to say about this hotel and the service provided it must be that we got a refund of some amount for paying up front, we got clean towels every day and it's close to Paddington station if and when you want to escape (though you can't escape the noise from Pad. Station).

Great Location, close enought to Paddington Station for a quick tube ride into the centre/major sites, etc. The rooms were small, and to be expected in London. Surroundings were better than expected. Stick with the free breakfast, the 2 pound upgrade to an "english breakfast" was not worth it. A shower curtain would have been nice. The staff were kind enough.

The hotel is advertising using a picture of its welcoming desk and I understood why. Actually, if they use a picture of the room I lived in, they will not have any new customer !!! Very small, very noisy as the train is close, hot as the window is small and the bathroom is ugly...
Furthermore, the welcoming desk is really not friendly. Breakfast is common.
I booked for 5 nights and fortunately I found another hotel ! I do not recommend this hotel !

Rooms quite clean, every day, but small!Anyway it's the hotels' standard in London.

Location is the best: Paddington...I like so much that place: every time I stay in London, always Paddington!
