I was travelling with my wife for vacation. The street was very noisy. The breakfast was miserable. The room was so small that we had to step off the bed only on one side. There were broken glasses in a window. The room's walls were ruined. The ground floor smells mouldy very much. We asked to have a lighter blanket for the bed and they said they did not have any. We were very surprised because we had to pay in advance.

Hallo

As I read in previous reviews, the room was tiny and the bath was new and clean. Given that London is so expensive I felt lucky to get a room for 60 pounds sterling. However, the bed and the furnishings were old, the door had no proper lock and I did not feel safe at night. No clock in the room and I did not receive one out of two wakeup calls which made me nervous when the day of my flight arrived so I ended up staying up most of the night worrying. The TV reception was good and the location close to Earl's Court as well as Museum of Science, etc. was excellent. Although breakfast was included, I did not venture down into the unappealing basement location even once for it. I was afraid to leave the windows open at night due to being on the first floor and having inadequate locks on the windows as well. The front desk staff was friendly and did the best with what they have, but overall the place gave me the creeps. At least we didn't end up with a room in the basement. I was pleasantly surprised that new towels showed up each day and the bed was made, but the pillows were so flimsy and the coverlet looked dirty. But....again, it was 'only' 60 pounds for two people per night. I'm told that is a bargain.

The lobby looked quite dreadful. the room was the smallest twin room you can imagine. You couldn't move in there at all. The beds seemed new and were comfortable though and the tiny bathroom with shower was very fresh and looked completely new. Terribly hot in there though.
The breakfast was a joke. The two ladies worked very hard but there was so few table there so there was often a queu.Dry toast, hot water with a teabag, cheap cornflakes...Shame - it as very good located 2 mins walk from Earl's Ct tube.

Hi, we reached Earls Court Square, and saw the houses as shown on the website, however when we reached the Olympia, we received an unpleasant surprise as the building was shabby; it wasn’t the same as the photo we had seen. The Olympia building looked out of place in that square…
The room was tiny; the mattress was worn and caved in, so I slept on the duvet for some comfort.
Whenever the people in the room above walked the whole ceiling seemed to shake, but no, it was the lighting unit which wasn’t adequate, and caused us to be woken up with the minimum of fuss.
The windows were crap! Sorry for that, but they really were. We had the room on the corner, where there is a busy street, where we could here all the traffic passing by. This was due to the windows being inadequate and did not buffer the sound at all.
There was a mousetrap in the room, as also in the reception office, and probably in most other places. I’m glad I saw it on the last night! I did feel that the industrial bin in our room looked out of place…
The breakfast room was tiny, one day we had to wait to sit down while others finished, and other days other people had to wait. It’s just not right is it…?
Apart from the above, the website must show some info regarding parking facilities/options available to potential clients, a bit of honesty upfront would be welcome.
I’m sorry, under the current situation, I wouldn’t recommend the hotel.

We were placed in a basement dungeon for the first 2 nights. The bathroom was small but nicely done (no soap dish in the shower)-the rest of the room was like a glorified storage closet-the advertised coffee pot had no plug to power it-someone removed the extension cord from our tv on the second day-no one could explain it so they moved us 4 flights up-nicer room! There were many small hotels in the Earl's Court area-this appeared to be the worst! This hotel does not deserve more than a 1 star rating. Breakfast was so-so--bowl of cornflakes-toast-instant coffee and oj. Close to Earl's Court Station-many food and service possibilities closeby-including a laundromat.

All that glitters is not gold!! For sure does not expect what you see on Internet.
First do not expect a great welcome!
Then, everything is in miniature (but is the same everywhere in London, as i could see in previous experiences).
Anycase, the bathroom was the best part of the hotel. A positive thing was the underground, very close to the hotel. To end, we do not suggest it, if you like to have space, good service and above all ........ if you are just a little fussy!

London is a VERY expensive city, so if you on a low budget, like I was, and just want a place to sleep- this hotel will do the job. The room is VERY small- it looks just like the picture. I never made it to the breakfast- only served for 1 hr. One staff member was wierd when we checked in, but the rest were nice. They weren't helpful with directions. It is VERY close to the metro- buy a day pass and you will get your money's worth. You must pay with cash and I wasn't aware of that, but the employee allowed me to put my bags in the room and walk to an ATM. ALso, at check out, we were allowed to leave our bags there, while we enjoyed our last day in London. If you will not be in the hotel for long, this is an OK place to stay. Next time I still might try looking around more and paying an extra 10 pounds for something bigger.

the room was perfect for a quick stop over in london - centrally located and not hideously over priced It was quite noisy but that didn't really bother us too much We didn't realise that you coudn't pay with card - they only accepted cash! The reception workers could have been a little more friendly but overall a good stay!

It was not too bad for an English hotel: the room was clean and newly furnished. Unfortunately the rooms are not sufficiently isolated from sounds coming from the neibghbors...Very unpleasant night!!!
It was quite expensive but I guess it is the London rates...
The surroundings are good with an underground station not far away!

Hotel Olympia is easily accesible as it is located off the piccadilly line on the subway and is direct from Heathrow Airport. It is on a pretty street in Earl's Court and REALLY close to the subway station. London is a very expensive city. This hotel is a good deal as it is in central London. It offers a simple breakfast of cereal and toast with tea and juice in the mornings in the eating area in the basement. The rooms are small, but enough space and have TV, phone, hairdryers, and nice clean bathrooms. The hotel is warm, and clean. The people who worked there went out of there way to help me change around my booking, and were flexible when I needed them to be. They let me leave my bags there when I left town for 2 days, and even gave me a wake up call to get to the airport. They were very nice and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay, and would stay there again.

Cleanliness of the amenities must be there or the whole start of the holidays will have that first impression. Also, room for groups are small and should not have many beds cramp up until you have no where to turn and the bathroom is too small (one particular room). Breakfast should be improved to put in more choice like eggs (some hotels of similiar type can do so). Overall, the staff are friendly.

When we arrived at this hotel I immediately regretted booking the property. The lobby is tired and dingy and smelled of indian food, as did the rest of the hotel. It has the appearance of a cheap hostel rather than a hotel, they don't even accept credit cards. The room which was meant for 2 people was the smallest room I have ever stayed in. There was barely enough room for one person let alone 2. You could not freely walk around the room and its size meant it was extremely hot and stuffy, even at night which made sleeping impossible. Although the bathroom looked clean there was a horrible smell in there on our first day. Having said that, what little furntiure there was looked new and the bed linen was clean which was a big relief. Although our rate included breakfast there was no way i was risking actually eating there, if the dirtiness and smelliness of the hotel was anything to go by. The property also has zero ammenities. When I asked for an iron and a fan the man behind the desk looked at me as if i was insane. The only real advantage to staying in this hotel is the location- 3 mins walk from Earls Court tube station. I am not normally fussy about where i stay and have never written a bad review about a hotel before but I would not consider staying here again unless I was really desperate.

I was met by a person who had limited knowledge about the booking procedures. Hence, we had a disagreement about how much and how I should pay for my visit. Such problems are uneccessary and takes away some of the pleasure by ones vacation. But I have to add that the rest of the personel where both charming and helpful.

Using the shower (shared facility) was quite an
adventure - the shower room was rather small and
one did not dare to touch anything (esp. the shower
curtain) due to a certain lack of cleanliness. The
actual room and the (shared) lavatories were o.k.
During our stay there were renovation activities,
i.e. hopefully the conditions of the rooms and
facilities will improve in the near future.
