i was on holiday with my sister. perfect location, the rooms were a bit small, but still comfortable to have take-away dinner in. the location was perfect, right near St. Pancras/Kings Cross allowing for easy access to just about any underground line to get anywhere in the city and airports and the national/international trains allow for a variety of travelers to use the hotel. The breakfast was a good start to every day. Overall my sister and I were very happy with our choice of hotel. Would definitely recommend it and the area to friends.

For one night on a budget this was excellent for the price. Although initially dissapointed being in a small basement room (a bit musty, but not damp) with only a view from a small window looking out onto the backs of other rooms. The beds were comfortable and very clean. Shower and toilet also clean. The full English breakfast included in the price was very good and in a pleasant dining area. Staff were friendly. I would go here again for one or two nights but not for a week in a basement.

The hotelroom was expensive, tiny and uncomfortable, but i guess that works in a very popular travel destination like London. Sooner or later someone desperate, like me, would need a room badly and stumble into the trap. London is full of hotels like this in desperate need of renovation. Off with the wall to wall carpets, get in some light!

The hotel is located in a very good position. It's near one of the biggest tube station (King Cross), there you can find the most important lines you need to visit London. The hotel is situeted in a quiet street as well. The cleaning is good, the rooms is small but enough to sleep and take a shower (whole rooms in London are small). The stuff is friendly and helpful. Cretainly I'm comming back in this hotel if I wish to visit London again. I advise this hotel for all people who want visit London.

The breakfast room is far too small. It's not funny to stand together with some other people in a crowded tiny room and to wat for 15 minutes until a table is free. There are far to many guests for this little room. The plates are cleaned very fast and are wet when handed out to the guests.

I was expecting a small room but whoa! It was so small we could barely walk around the bed. And the bed moved around on the floor so easily which was annoying and made it even harder to get around the bed. We had a nice big window though but the park it looked out over was not all that pretty which was weird because all the parks in London were gorgeous. It was a convenient area being so close to the train stations. I stayed near Paddington station when I first got to London and I wish I had stayed in that area. It was much nicer than the area around St. Pancras. Overall, it was a decent place to stay.

A cheap and cheerful place to sleep. Not somewhere to hang about in. Recently refurbished rooms clean and tidy. Rooms quite small. Breakfast plentiful, if not the best quality, would set you up for the day. Guests a mix of construction workers and tourist both UK and International.

I booked a quiet single room and was positively surprised to get a really quiet double room. That was great! The room was still small but as it was for one person I could not complain. The only things I did not like was a horrible smell from the bathroom sink hat woke me up every morning. Closing the door made the air a bit better, but not 100%. Breakfast was very simple but OK: typical English breakfast with eggs, toast and cornflakes, but no choice (every day the same orange marmelade)and tomatoes from a can.

Search another hotel, even you must pay something more. The room was minimal, the bathroom a shame, absolutely unbelievable. The heating running only sometimes, but anulled by the bed, put against the old radiator. We had not real furniture: only a tight cupboard, three drawers and no space to left the suitcases. We must ask for a second blanket, but both were like cigarette paper. The people in the reception was sinister, and the breakfast quite disgusting, we prefered to have some coffee and muffins in a starbucks! Search another hotel for your London holidays, is a friendly suggestion.

Hotel is OK for price except bathroom and TV. Bathroom needs a plumber. Not really clean. It´s very small, but that´s not the problem. But with a little bit of work you could improve that and repair that. They hadn´t got any SAT TV. And no remote available. They offer you a room in the dependance, which is usual, I would say. Overall Costs to repair all I would say 2 hours for the plumber, 30 Pound for new material for the bathroom and 30 Pound for a remote control. One person of the reception is not really competent, because I wanted a look at the room and the receptionist told me, why, I would have to pay anyway :-DDDDDDDDDDDDD Creative Consulting Austria

For price 50 it`s probably ok, but... There is no room for larger luggage. Bathroom really small. Something broken, but not dirty. 5 TV channels without remote. From window beautiful brick wall ;). Can recommanded this property. It is close to subway, train, bus (300m). There are shops and pubs around. It is possible to walk to centre - cca 30min. Our Room was really small as well as the bathroom but we expected it. It was clean. Breakfast was standard english - proper one. Surrounding seems to be safe and quiet - we had no problem with this. European Hotel is door Nr.14. We were sent to door Nr.20, another place, just like that. No explanation. Breakfast room very dirty. No phisical connection between Hotel and breakfast room. 2nd nigth fire alarm played 3 times. First more than 30 minutes. During 3 nigths drunking people singing and palying over nigth. The hotel is really bad. I never imagine it was possible to find it in London. The best: coming back home.

Although the room is quite small, almost no spaces for luggage, it is just one block across the street from Kings Cross Station, easy access to the tube, bus and train. The room was cheap and close to King Cross. This hotel was not welcoming. It was a pay in advance type of establishment in a shady area of town. Most of the furniture was at least partially broken. The bathroom smelled of mildew. The window would not lock, which was worrying since the room was on the ground floor. I was glad to leave again in the morning. I will never go back.

First, the location of the European hotel is ideal if you arrive from Luton Airport via the Thameslink. It's barely 5 minutes walk from King's Cross station and most of transports. Then, the hotel is in a lovely and quiet square. The staff is very welcoming and helpful (we asked for a hairdryer - we got one a minute later). Rooms aren't very spacious but it's the same in most of big cities and it's really sufficent considering you only sleep in there. A very good point is that we had a private bathroom completely renovated and very clean, in the room. + Tea-coffee facilities in the room is great too. Second very good point: the traditionnal english breakfast in self-service (tea, coffee, baked beans, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, toasts, jam, butter, orange juice...) You can avoid eating the whole day with such a substantial (and excellent) breakfast. The only annoying things we found were: one noisy room-neighbour and some strange smell coming from the bathroom in the second morning. Finally, I would definitely recommand this B&B. A very good relationship between price/quality and no extra fee when paying by credit card. I would not hesitate, I would go back there for my next trip to london.

Considering the price of £40 I thought the hotel room was very good value. Very close to Kings Cross/St Pancras which was useful and an effort had obviously been made to keep the room in a clean condition. I didn't get time to shower or eat breakfast before I left to catch my early train so can't comment on them. Overall though, I would probably use this hotel again when looking for a reasonably cheap room in london.

Bait and Switch This hotel has on their reservation page a disclaimer that they reserve the right to accomodate you in their "annex" which is really a fleabag motel just down the block, the "Elmwood" hotel. This is clearly bait and switch. I'm sure they are booking well past their availability and shuffling people down to the other hotel. There was not room to put a suitcase on the floor of this room, the walls were stained, you couldnt use the bath sink without standing in the doorway. I asked for another room and was refused. I will not be using this site again if this practice is an example of what is allowed by the hotels. I have complained to Venere and received no reply.

Horrible place to stay in: tiny and unclean room (hair in the bed, toilets and shower dirty), tiny bed (double bed is 1m20 large) and mattress too soft. At least we could have slept in that was all. But you can hear doors slamming and people talking in the room next door all night long (not sound proof), and the heating was so hot we had to open the window (winter time outside) when they suddenly decided to shut it down in the middle of the night... The worst night ever... we should not even pay for a place that sucks so much. The only good thing about the place is that it is 2 minutes walk from subway.

This hotel is quite close to King's Cross, the rooms are very small but clean, the bathroom is ok. The staff is helpful. The main advantage of this hotel is the price, quite reasonable (breakfast is included), and its location on the Circle Line. Not recommended for business or romantic holydays, but nice for travellers on a budget.

The 2 minutes to Kings X is accurate - you can see the station from the doorstep of the hotel. But it's in a quiet square overlooking a small park. Room was small, about 10 sq m, but very clean, new if basic furniture and a nice wood laminate floor. No lift, no air con, it's not that sort of place. Excellent value, particularly with breakfast thrown in, and an unbeatable location. Not a place for a romantic weekend break, but a good budget B&B especially when you are coming in late or leaving early from Kings X.

This was a really tired and run down looking place. I wasn't suprised that they wanted payment up front. The lobby is very run down looking, the hallway was tiny with old and soiled carpeting. The room I was given had a cottage bedroom feel to it - like something you might expect at someones cottage, but not at a hotel. The window didn't close, and there is no screen, so things came and went at will. The bed was a mattress thrown over some kind of homemade pine frame contraption, and made some interesting squeaks when I sat on it. My room faced an alley, and I could hear the kitchen below in the morning. It's very close to Kings Cross station, and isn't very hard to find. The street it's on seemed to have a few similar venues all along it (probably with similar appeal though). I wouldn't stay there again in all honesty. You usually get what you pay for, and next time I'll pay a bit more if required, and stay at a place that didn't feel like it would charge by the hour for the use of their rooms...if you know what I mean...

Clean and very small. Not quiet. I was in a room on the ground floor re which was nice as there is no lift. A couple in the next room was so loud one night the management gave me another room on the 3rd floor to sleep in. If it were quiter I'd go back as the price is good.

OK for a short stay when the price is important.

The staff had not checked for internet bookings. My reservation was not known to them. A suitable room was found anyway.

Francesca Carbone

Since we were in London for only two days of sightseeing, we did not spend much time in the room, but moving inside it was a little problem since it was awfully small. So was the bathroom : impossible to leave even a toothbrush inside (no space even on the sink) and the double bed was smaller than most european standards). Otherwise, everything was spotless, and the english breakfeast served downstairs was super. A good place for low budgets anyway.
