Stayed one night with a small baby on our way home after 3 weeks in Portugal. Got a spacious and quiet room. Great hotel located in the city center. (Had no wireless Internet access in the rooms. They probably had a business center, but we never tried it).

I would recommend the Mundial, but at reception you will be greeted by a person who does not smile!! The bar personnel are very friendly. The restaurants are good. I appreciated the free parkiing. It is easy to get to the airport. Trolley #28 will take you through the old city near the castle. You can get the trolley near the front of the hotel. You should spend a day in the EXPO area of the city near the airport and the Oriente train station. We asked for a large double bed, but got a standard which was too small for two large adults. The area around the hotel is a bit seedy. The train service to Porto is good. It is difficult to get any travel advice at reception so bring your own travel guide.

We thought that the hotel was excellent apart from the breakfasts where the choice of fresh fruit was limited and the so called hot choices were invariably cold.

Our 3 night stay in a double room at Mundial was very satisfying in almost every way. There were only two exceptions; 1. The Varanda Restaurant: The hotel describes it as a "first grade restaurant", but this is not at all the case. Since the facilities and the service is very good, we were astonished to find that the food itself was such low quality. 2. This was a surprise trip for my wife, who did not know that a number of friends and relatives would show up as guests at the hotel. The head receptionist assured me that 'no inconvenient questions would be asked at our arrival'. But the first thing that happened at check-in was that the receptionist blew the whole secret by asking questions about our friends' arrival. Incredible!

Mundial offers great value for the money. It is not a charming hotel, but a big and fairly modern one with most of the facilities you need. Great view from many of the rooms. Very nice breakfast buffet. And the location is very practical, with walking distance to Bairro Alto. The small trams stop just outside the hotel and takes you to the Alfama area in a couple of minutes. BUT: Avoid the "gourmet" restaurant Varanda on the 8th floor!!! It looks very nice and the service is good, but the food is a total disaster.

Good location. But clear that this hotel caters to busloads and only releases surplus rooms to the general public thru services like Venere. Breakfast buffet was very good. Location in a somewhat shabby area (most of Lisbon is somewhat dated and recalls its socialist past), but not a long walk to some good shopping and access to tours etc. This was our first, trial trip to Lisbon and will be our last. Not much to appeal to us. Supposedly has great museums but we do not travel to visit museums. Driving in Lisbon is a disaster. Avoid if possible.

Good location, perfectly communicated. A bit impersonal but functional.

Hotel particulièrement bien situé par rapport aux transports en commun, excellent petit-déjeuner. Mais mauvais rapport qualité-prix pour le dîner, l'hotel communique sur la vue de la salle de restaurant mais le repas est très en dessous de la moyenne.

Apart from the fact that the first room we got the key for at check-in was already taken by someone else the hotel seems to be managed quite professionally. Our double-room was rather small but very well equipped (especially the bath-room) and kept. The big hotel is located conveniently midst in town, so most of the sightseeings are within walking distance. Overall a good address to stay in Lisbon.

For the third time we stayed at Hotel Mundial, and again the stay was exelent. Exept for one thing, our room was close to the elevator, and it could be a bit noicy. Hotel Mundial is our only alternativ i Lisboa !!

This was our second stay at Mundial, and we will surely use it next time as well. We were recomended the hotel by a Norwegian travelagency.

Nice hotel good situation if you don't take the street behind the hotel flooded with prostitutes. Rooms are very clean but not with all the commodities of a 4 star hotel.Stayed at the Quality Inn in Porto on the same trip and paid half the price of the Mundial for much better service and quality at this 3 star hotel.Beside the service when you arrive at the hotel for your luggage, this is not up-to standard for a 4 star hotel

Hotel Mundial is perfectly located for a visit to all of the main touristic sites in Lisbon. We found the service at the reception to be slow, but all other staff was very helpful and responsive.

This was an excellent hotel. The rooms were clean and a joy to be in. We had a balcony that overlooked a plaza. Great views and a pleasure to sit in the evenings. I would rate this hotel highly to all types of peope. A truely four-star property.

Pretty good if bland modern hotel in great location near to Rossio and the train station. Fine buffet breakfast. Fairly quiet at night but the immediate area gets a little seedy after dark. Overall very good value for the price we paid. One general warning is that central Lisbon is overrun by pickpockets. Be especially careful around tourist attractions and getting off or on buses and trams.

Great location, breakfast was good, rooms where clean and the view from the window excellent. I would recommend this hotel and if I have a reason to return to Lisbon then I would stay here again. Not a beggar, sunglasses seller in sight and no hash being offered outside!

The hotel was very good value for money. WE enjoyed our stay. Had a very pleasant meal in the roof top restaurant which was good value for money. All in all a very pleasant stay in Lisbon. Would certainly stay at the Mundial again.

Very small room with small double bed, shower pressure was low and air conditioning was poor. Staff on front desk were rude but bar staff were very friendly. Location at night was dodgey and square opposite hotel was a definite NO NO. Overall would not go near this hotel again!

Very good location downtown.Excellent price for a triple room, very spacious and private between double and single.Would choose it again and recommend to friends. Generally: be aware of pickpockets in Lisbon!! My purse was stolen, and while in the police station, three more people came in with the same complaint.

Excellent location right at the centre of the city. Walking distance to most of the sites of interests. Excellent buffet breakfast. Double glazing window blocked out most of the traffic noice. We booked through the internet and paid 87 Euro per night for a double room. We think it is value for money.
