would not recommend for english people as found some of the staff very anti anyone who was not german or austrian.real shame as nice hotel.

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Sportalm for a late in the season skiing trip at the end of March. The hotel is in a great location, a quick 5 min stroll to get to the Fleckalmbahn chairlift. It is about 10 mins outside the town of Kirchberg, however we really liked the hotels location as it is on its own street opposite the ski fields, set amongst a small cluster of other hotels, which gave it a nicer, more secluded feel. For those wanting to get into town, the ski bus runs into town until about 7.30pm, it can be easily walked (abt 10mins), or a taxi costs about 8 Euros. Our room was exactly the same as the photo on the website (with the red carpet). It was really large, and had a door which opened up onto a balcony overlooking the ski fields. Another door opended up into a smaller room, where there was a couch which loked like it might fold out into another bed - we stored our suitcases in here. The service at the hotel was very friendly and welcoming. Being late in the season I don't think the hotel was completely full so they were probably more attentive. The breakfast buffet at the hotel was fantastic, all very fresh food. There was a wide range of cereals, fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, freshly baked rolls with ham and all sorts of cheeses, and a freshly baked cake! The service was attentive, and we were always promptly asked whether we would like a tea or a coffee. The room only included breakfast and we decided to eat in the hotel restaurant one night. They provide a 4 course meal of soup, followed by the main meal of the day and a dessert. There is also extensive salad buffet of lovely fresh salads, however by the time we started dining most of it was gone! It was all very delicious food, and nicely presented, however I did not feel that it was worth the 30 Euro per head (just for the food) that we paid. The actual restaurant had a special feel to it, and again looks exactly like the photo on Venere with the warm engraved wooden ceiling.

I can not put into words the disgust I feel for this property and would suggest you avoid it at all costs. On arrival I showed my booking confirmation and was shown to my room, 2 hours later, I was told that they had given my room to a family who had arrivd and were staying for 1 week as opposed to the two nights I had booked. The Manageress was rude and I was asked to pack up my things and leave immediately. I would not wish on anyone the experience I had with this property and would reccommend that you boycott this property.
