This place was great. Ceiling fans kept you cool at night. Close enough to the sea so that there were no mosquitoes so you could open the window. Great swimming pool/mineral bath. the water was warm. great for soaking out the kinks after walking all day. ischia ponte is a great area. Close to the sea for great views, great shopping. Close enough to the Port to get to it as a bus transport hub, but far ewnough away to be quiet at night. Great restaurants. The breeze off the sea was wonderful. Nice bathroom. Non-typical Italian shower keeps water off the floor. Window in the bathroom.

This is an excellent place to stay in Ischia. It represents good value for money and the staff are very friendly and helpful - nothing is too much trouble. The little mineral pool and its surroundings are lovely. It is very much "no frills"; there is a limited choice of food for the evening meal. I don't eat meat though I do eat fish; the staff were most considerate in making sure I had a choice of main course. The food was good and there was plenty of it. I would not however advise having half-board if you don't eat fish OR meat. There are beauty treatments available at the Europa - you need to ask and they will arrange for the the therapist to attend. I had a facial and it was lovely! Transport is very easy - the no7 bus to Ischia Porto stops outside the hotel and there is a frequent service. If you prefer to walk to Porto this takes 20-30 min and all the buses for the island leave from there. Some of them can also be caught from Piazza Eroi which is 5min from the hotel. Ischia Ponte itself is very attractive and the castle is stunning. All in all this is a great place to base yourself for a holiday on this lovely island - reasonably priced, welcoming and conveniently placed.

Europa is a short bus ride from Ischia Porte and a stroll to Ischia Pointe. The island is popular with Italian tourists and quieter and less sophisticated than Sorrento and Capri though with beaches for sun worshippers. Maronti beach is worth the trip into Porte for the bus on to Maronti. The hotel makes for a comfortable and pleasant stay for those seeking a quiet break with a wide variety of spa treatments. Free internet access and hotel arranged scooter/car hire was a bonus.

A wonderful place to stay on Ischia. We took a bus to the other side of the island which was beautiful, but my wife and I preferred the area around the Hotel Europa much more. There just seemed to be more going on in our area. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful and made our stay very enjoyable.

We would unreservedly recommend this hotel for its comfort, the attentiveness of the staff and its location. In spite of being situated on a busy road the plants around the swimming pool give it a rural atmosphere and the rooms are very quiet. We had an excellent breakfast and its position between Ischia Ponte and Ischia Porte makes it quite convenient. We did not discover the road to the port (behind the hotel) until our last day. It takes just 20 minutes to walk (almost along the sea front) to the wonderful shopping centre of the port where there is a great choice of restaurants. Ischia Ponte (which is much nearer) is disappointing in this respect. It is one of the best hotels in which we have stayed.

Of the nine hotels we stayed in during our month in europe this one definately offered the best value for money. If i return to Ischia i will definately stay here again.
Reasons: good staff, nice clean rooms, good breakfast, nice location, internet access etc... i have nothing negative to say about this hotel

Overall an excellent stay without any bad surprise at all. The hotel is managed by a family, which creates a nice atmosphere. The thermal pool is quite unique. Quality of meals is very good. Clientele is ranging from families to more senior people, all converging towards a pleasant atmosphere and mutual respect (no kids shouting and no loud teenagers with techno music or the like). Ischia itself is a magic island, and the hotel is located near beaches. Europa also offers interesting partnerships for leisure activities at different spots of Ischia like Negombo.

This place was great. It has a mineral pool and is right by a cute town. We got a half board, so breatfast and dinner were included and the food was excellent. We looked forward to dinner every night, it was delicious. Everything was very fresh and cooked to perfection. If you stay here, do the half board, it is worth every penny!!
Also, the bus (#7) comes right to the hotel from the port! you can also then get the bus and go to the beach. It was very nice. we highly recommend it.

Basic cooking, it can be better specially for South Italy. Room cleaning should be better. Low water pressure, while you are having shower water can disappear. Very good location, from room you can see Castello Aragonese and S. Anna fire exhibition

We really enjoyed our week long stay at Europa and extended it for two nights. The Ponte end of Ischia is a lot more attractive than Porta being less obviously tourist orientated and catering more for the locals. It was the last week of the tourist season and despite being the last handful of guests everyone at the hotel made a genuine effort to make us feel at home. We plan on returning.
A word of criticism about the food which I felt was overly catering for a German clientel. Do Germans really want a mediocre version of their own cuisine while on holidays...perhaps they do. More of the local excellent simple fare would have been preferable with a little more care in the preparation of food i.e. oversalted sauces and over cooked eggs.
Otherwise excellent value, friendly personable service and a beautiful island to explore.

The hotel was charming. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The location was great although the hotel is right on the main road so it was a little bit noisy. My only real criticism would be the breakfast. It was very limited.

Hotel Europa is an excellent choice of place to stay in Ischia. Rooms are a decent size with comfortable beds. The location is ideal being situtated 15 minutes walk from Ischia Porte and 10 minutes walk from Ischia Ponte and the Castel Aragonesse. There is a decent free beach approx 300 metres away. The hotel staff are very welcoming and helpful. Ischia is a beautiful and friendly island and well worth a visit. Would definately recommend and stay again at Europa if we returned

I found the Hotel Europa was a lovely place to stay whilst exploring the beautiful Island of Ischia. It's perfectly situated close to the Castle, beaches, shops and cafes.
The food was excellent; the wine very good and the service first class! My room was very comfortable and the thermal pool great for de-stressing!!
I'm returning to Ischia to explore more of the Island and area, and will definitely stay at the Europa again. The Buono family's hospitality made me feel so welcome.

Perhaps changing the towels in the bathrooms is a good idea as the one available were not of good quality.
As for the rest, the hotel is really very good with very good people always ready to help you and my stay was really very good!
Thank you!

Sandro and Raffaele were wonderfully welcoming and quite gracious hosts on our first trip back to hte isalnd of my ancestors. They were always pleased to help our and take the time to talk. The meals were outstanding, and the wait staff and maid staff were all quite nice. The hotel is quite confortable, with plenty of places to enjoy inside and out; from the pool to roof patio to the cozy bar. The location is great, since it's only a short walk down to Ischia Ponte. And the bus stops are also right nearby. We're looking forward to our next trip back to Ischia, and hopefully another stay at Hotel Europa.

We traveled all around the island and liked Ischia Ponte the best! The Castello Aragonese is beautiful and there are some good restaurants in town (especially the Vineria X Bacco). The location of the hotel is great for going anywhere on the island and the owners are very nice and helpful. Even though the hotel is located on a busy road, we weren't bothered by the noise at all. Best of all, the grounds of the hotel are kept up very well with beautiful flowers and nice places to sit and read.
